The Princess Doesn't Want A Harem

Chapter 15: This World Makes No Sense

"Because of this useless trash?"

Star felt furious. To think he would one day be compared with a useless human! He was the prince of his tribe, loved and respected by his people from the moment he was born. If his clan hadn't been completely destroyed, he would have become a powerful ruler as well.

As a Shape-shifter, he hated humans the most. They were despicable beings, not only weak but thinking themselves sovereign. After his clan's massacre, he was left with nothing. He roamed human towns and villages hopelessly, digging through trash and stealing just to survive. The once-beloved prince had become a mere beggar.

It was by luck that he came across this Princess, who had taken a great interest in his face. Though she was a shallow pervert who judged others solely by physical appearance, at least she gave him a good place to live, delicious food, and even power over others.

And he'd never really done anything inappropriate with her. She liked watching him shape-shift, but aside from that, they had no intimate relationship. She wasn't as bad as others thought. Perhaps Star had even begun to develop feelings for her.

But since she became infatuated with that stupid Dragon Rider, she'd hardly paid attention to any of them. Then today, one of the lowlife harem members had dared to challenge him. He hadn't bothered being merciful. He thought that even if the Princess didn't pay attention to him, she certainly wouldn't care about some unknown pretty face.

But now...

Kira's face was resentful. The scene now resembled the treatment she suffered at the hands of her boss. Only this time, someone had actually died.

"Why? What makes you think you can bully other people like this? Just because they can't fight back?"

"Why are you getting so worked up over it?" Star said angrily. "Could it be that your infatuation with Dae has shifted to this little guy here? Is that it?"

"You aren't even remorseful?"

"Why should I be? When a person is so weak, why shouldn't they be bullied? You can only blame yourself if you aren't strong enough to fight back."

Kira's fists clenched at her sides. She was so overwhelmed with anger and despair that she couldn't keep her emotions in check. Perhaps she was too weak to fight back before, but in this life, she was the Princess, and whatever she says goes. No, she wouldn't let anyone be bullied!

She pointed an accusing finger at the Shape-shifter. His nonchalance made her even more furious. "You!... Get the hell out of my sight! Don't you dare show up in front of me again!"

"He's not dead." Seeing that things were really serious and that the Princess was angry, Star gritted his teeth and revealed the truth. The guy on the ground just had water blocking his air passage; he wasn't actually dead. With a wave of his hand, Star sent some condensed air toward the guy, and soon he was coughing out water. "Are you happy now?! He's still alive!"

Kira was momentarily stunned when she saw that the unconscious man had woken up. She felt relieved and quickly instructed some people to take him to see the doctor. When he was carried away, she turned her fierce eyes on Star once more.

What difference did it make? This guy had tried to drown someone! And he even had the audacity to act arrogant about it.

"It doesn't change anything. Get lost." She turned around and walked out of the Moonlite Pavilion.

Dae, who had been watching the scene quietly, couldn't help but chuckle. It seemed the Princess had some humanity in her after all. How interesting.

Star watched Kira's retreating back in astonishment. By the time her words registered, she had already left the Pavilion. Wait, did this mean he was about to be kicked out of the palace?

His grey eyes widened in horror, and he quickly followed her. "Princess, wait!"

Kira was almost at her chambers when she heard somebody following her. She chose to ignore him and was even about to slam the door in his face, but Star was awfully agile and managed to sneak into the room. He held onto Kira's robes, his eyes pleading.

"I know I was wrong. Please don't be angry. I can't take it if you're mad at me. I'm very sorry."

"What the hell are you apologizing to me for? I'm not the one who almost died at your hands."

"I'll apologize to Rowen." The very thought of apologizing to someone below him made his skin itch. But the thought of being kicked out of the palace scared him. He couldn't go back to being homeless. "Please, I really won't do it again. Forgive me."

He rested his forehead against hers. Kira's face grew hot at the close contact. In just a couple of days, she had already had a man kiss her, bury his face between her legs, and even... gosh!

"It's... alright. Just... let go of me first."

"You're still angry!" Star said, feeling very aggrieved. Hadn't he said he would apologize? What else did she want?

Wait... maybe she wanted him to coax her. Star knew how much the Princess was fascinated by his abilities, so he decided to put them to good use. He thought of the one person Kira respected and was very comfortable with. It was none other than her father, the King!

His lips curled up in delight at the bright idea. He leaned back and let his powers go to work. He was the prince of his clan, so his abilities were far stronger than those of ordinary Shape-shifters. It only took him a few seconds to take on his new form.

Kira was dazzled by the display of golden hair and eyes. "Forgive me, okay?" Star said softly. Before she could react, he leaned forward and kissed her lips sweetly.

Just at that moment, the door of the room was pushed open, and King Edge walked in. The moment he noticed the two tangled figures, his body went tense.

There, before him, was his daughter, wrapped in the arms of a man identical to him. They were actually locking lips!

The world just didn't make sense anymore!
