The Primordial Record

Chapter 1960: Temple Of End

There were many ways Eos could respond to this, and the best option he had was to retreat from the Abomination. He had placed Rowan inside the purple cube and made him become a Primordial in such a visible manner in order to draw the wrong kind of attention, and find out if there were any hidden designs he could not yet see, and now that Enoch had revealed his power, his best option should have been to drag Rowan into his Origin Realm and felee as far away as possible.

If Rowan were to reach the Primordial level, the power he gained would be a single hair on a camel's back for Eos; what would be important for him would be the perception of a Primordial that Rowan would be able to share with him. He had other Primordials whose senses he could share, but none of them would be able to give him the completeness of vision that Eos needed.

Eos was on the verge of gaining this perception and seeing the secrets of the Primordial Record, and so he should have been running here, at least until Rowan reached the Primordial level, but he did not; instead, to the surprise of the Abomination, wearing the purple cube on a chain around his neck, he charged into its open mouth.

'Sometimes the only way to avoid a danger was to go through it.'

Multiple tongues of corrupted Realities lashed out, and Eos stepped onto one and ran along its length like a bridge. Inside the mouth of the Abomination was another domain, almost as vast as the one that had previously surrounded him, and he sliced apart the hundreds of tongues that resembled tentacles that were attempting to tie him down.

The tongue he was running upon tried to swallow him, as it began to wrap around him like a python, but his Destroyer sliced it into a thousand pieces in a fraction of a moment, and Eos' momentum was not slowed a single bit.

Stomping down on the remnants of the tongue, he shot forward into the throat and entered… darkness. Glancing behind him, he saw that the light of the outside was also vanishing as the Abomination closed its mouth. Squeezing the hilt of his sword, Eos plunged deeper into the darkness.

And for a moment, it seemed as if he had become swallowed by it, because every sound and any sign of his presence was gone, even the pale golden light from his Destroyer had been swallowed by this darkness, and then…

"Whoosh!!"

Two massive wings of light erupted from behind him. The Wings of the Omniverse were finally unleashed, and they shone like lightning. As his wings erupted behind him, the center of his chest shone bright as Eos unleashed his Tri-Core Sigil.

When he gained the Tri-Core Sigil, they had glowed with a gentle light that did nothing to show the impossible amount of physical power they were carrying. At that time, Eos was still an infant, and his physical capabilities were subpar. Now that he was growing, his Sigil had grown with him, and the light that they burned with was no longer gentle.

"BOOM… BOOM… BOOM…"

Power that could crush existence poured out from his Sigil, into his Destroyer, as Eos, for the first time since the battle began, unveiled the entire strength of his fleshy body. His Reality Crown rose above his head, and his body was like a comet that tore through the darkness even as his Destroyer burned golden.

The internals of the Abomination convulsed as it threw whatever it had left of its previous flesh into his path, but it was like trying to smother a volcano with pieces of paper; they all melted before his glory.

There were layers to this Abomination, where space had been extended and folded until it was as vast as Limbo, but with his Omniversal Wings, Eos's body could be carried through dimensions as quickly as a thought, and distance was meaningless to him when he could see the red glow ahead.

He could run, but that would give this Abomination the chance to evolve, and when it did, there was no place he would be safe, and like the Beast of Inevitability, the Abomination would begin to take from him.

The evolving form of the Abomination, still wrapped in its birthing sacks, opened yellow eyes to see the glorious form of Eos descending from above, and for a moment, it was as if it had been held in the grip of memory, and a look of pain flashed past its eyes, before anger and hate took its place.

With a roar, it began eating its birthing sacks so it could be born faster, while commanding every last part of its previous form to stall the wave of annihilation descending from above.

Its eyes were widening with shock and fear because it could see that it was not enough. Before it could evolve again, this blade would pierce its heart, but a hot wave of power from a place the Abomination could not recognize poured into its form, and it smiled… its evolution that required more time was instantly completed.

Raising itself into the air with tentacles that were growing out of its spine, it roared at the descending calamity, "Ruler of Creation… You have lost."

TEMPLE OF END.

Rowan did not know what was happening outside this place, and even if he did, he would not be leaving here, not without learning the secrets of the past that was about to be laid out for him… for too long he had been in the dark.

He watched as Noctis slowly moved away from his previous position, and he did not ask him why the other Architects were not moving; some answers, he knew, would come at the right time.

Noctis slowly walked towards Rowan, and he stopped a few feet away from him. Then, with a grace that he should not have, he bowed towards the direction that the ninth dimension was facing.

"Do you know where you stand, Rowan?" he said without much fanfare, "This is the holiest ground in all of existence, because it was here that existence as we know it was born, yet it is called the Temple of End."

Rowan looked around in doubt, from the aura he was feeling from the Hammer and the Forge here, then this place resembled a place of death, and had no concern with creation.

"Ah, you sense them," Noctis gestured to the hammer and forge, "Of course you are able to, you stand just outside their Aura. Do not look at them as tools of destruction, Rowan, see them as what they are… relics of a lost existence."

"Lost?" Rowan questioned, "What do you mean by a lost existence?"

Noctis shrugged, "We are not all there was… There was something before there was nothing, and even though we were born from nothing, it did not mean that there was not something before that nothing."

Rowan's eyes tightened, and he looked at the hammer, truly looked at it, and he discovered that he could not understand any of its makeup. It looks as if it was made from metal, but Rowan knew that there was no metal like this in existence. It should have been made from a concept that had been solidified, but Rowan could not recognize the concept.

Noctis chuckled, "That look on your face is exactly the same as ours when we first saw this place and recognized its significance."

"Which is?"

"The being that ended the previous existence… well, he wants to end ours."
