Chapter 1285 The Chill At Night

Chapter 1285 The Chill At Night

With the power of the Will of Time flooding through Rowan's dimensional flesh, he took the first step into becoming a living fourth dimension. He still had three more Wills to push forward toward the fourth dimension, but he could not do that until the plans of the World Stele were completed.

Doom Star was still corrupted and consuming it, even a small part of it would lead to an overwhelming strain on his system, enough to keep him dormant for an eternity. Rowan could not afford that to happen.

So now he needed to go after the Eye of Time, while not fully becoming a fourth-dimensional being, but he was strong enough to follow through, and his plans did not require that all the strength to take down the Eye of Time came from him alone.

It was time to resurrect. Thenos.

Rowan's eyes snapped open and a thousand blue eyes were staring back at him, something in his soul recognized those eyes, they were the source of the chill at night when there was no light and a strange sound scuttle past the side of your head, and a voice whisper in your ears, "fear me..."

Although the eyes were millions of miles away, with their present size, they could as well be pressing against his face, and he had not felt any of it. He had not felt this titan cross space and stand beside him, even the Eye of Time had been unable to do such a thing, and Rowan knew that this creature was far more dangerous than he had expected. Did the Eye of Time understand what it had just given the time to resurrect? "You are an interesting specimen." a deep rumbling resounded from the being behind the fog. Perhaps it could hide its figure from Andar and Staff, but Rowan could see this titan. The voice came from some of its heads, the others were looking around the realm, his sight staring past Doom Star and analyzing the rest of reality.

"Right back at you," Rowan replied to the titan, brushing away the chill that filled his soul with familiar ease, fear was simply a source of fascination for him, like a rare flavor that was rare for him to find at this point, but he simply could not allow himself to indulge in it. He looked at the body of this titan, appreciating the form of an eighth-dimensional creature,

"I don't believe they make them like you anymore," and he gestured toward the titan, particularly at its numerous limbs and heads, "Reality cannot handle the essence expenditure of maintaining all of that. How are you able to maintain yourself at the edge?"

"Oh, I have learned to make do, and as much as I hate the air of this present realm, it affords... certain opportunities. I simply have to adapt to it. To tell the truth, even when the Primes said they would make a new Era, I never believed they were willing to take it this far, and now I stand corrected. However, you on the other hand..." The titan seemed to taste the next words before he spoke, "You are a freak, a product of so many rare and extreme coincidences that it should be impossible unless the Primes will it, and so, I don't want to fight you... not when you are still so weak. My first battle against the Prime must shake reality! Stop holding back and become who you are!"

"Gothran'Inul!" the Eye of Time screamed in shock, "What do you think you are doing? We have a deal. You are reneging?!"

Some of the heads of the titan turned towards the Eye of Time, "I am fulfilling that deal, stopping your enemy, but the way I chose to achieve that is by my own choosing. Your part in this is over."

"Your own... what? Kill that bastard, not talk to him! You have no idea how dangerous he is."

The titan laughed, "I have no idea? Eye of Time, strange name... One that I am sure that you have earned, but my name, the one you carelessly spew from your mouth, do you know its meaning? Have you forgotten the reason I was killed?"

"I do not care Gothran'Inul, kill that bastard or you shall pay the price."

The titan whispered, "Your kind never do, you only command, you only take, omnipotence has made all of you blind, and it is a good thing that you are beginning to fall, and yet in your arrogance, you don't see this happening."

"Stop stalling, make the kill, do not let him complete that Will."

The heads of the titan facing the Eye of Time seemed to be losing patience as they frowned, "I am not stalling, Eye of Time... you are. Why are you using me as bait? You wish me to take the killing blow in your stead? Nemesis is powerful, but we both know it should not keep you down for long. Your Primordial nature, is it not sacrosanct?"

"This time it is not," Rowan said, and dozens of the titan's heads turned towards him, "I have made sure of that."

"And how are you able to do such a thing?"

"Give me your heart, and I will show you the answer, but I will give you another hint for free, it is not just afraid of me, it is now very afraid of you because it understands that it had unleashed the wolf, and its innards are exposed and bleeding, and in a short while, you will catch the scent of its blood."

The titan laughed, "Eye of Time, is that the truth, is your nature no longer inviolable, are the Primordials now so weak in this new Era?"

"That is the truth," Rowan said as he stood to his full height, "But of course, you will not get to know that."

"Hmm, is that so..."

"Yes, because you will be dead."

"By your hands I suppose, then you should become fast strong enough because the you of this moment is not fit enough to stand against me."

"Not my hands," Rowan pointed at the sky, "By his own, you came right on time, for he is very hungry."

The titan was already observing the headless wailing child with some of his heads and he scoffed,

"Oh, you mean that brat Thenos, the special wonder kid who already possessed an Eternal Realm before he was born and when drew down a Singularity? Hah! He is even more broken than even me. You see I was fed on by a Throne of the Celestials, but Thenos here, well, he was fed on by the Primes themselves, do you know how hard it is to come from that?"

Rowan smiled, "I guess you don't have that much experience with Singularities do you? If you did, you would understand why the Eye of Time is so afraid of what was to come. You should have stayed dead, I do not pity you for what is to come."

Six of the Nine books surrounding Rowan vibrated, their heavy cover opened with a loud bang, and the pages began to flip by themselves until they got to the last empty one that was empty.

"Let me complete this story," Rowan said and his consciousness began to write on all six books.
