The Post Sky Tipping Era

Chapter 783: Deep into the World of Hell

Seeing Yang Jian agree, Li Yi immediately let out a sigh of relief.

He is the key to his mother's resurrection. If he refused, there would be nothing he could do but accept this cruel reality. Fortunately, this Yang Jian agreed.

"I will give you your mother's soul, and then I will send you back to this current point in time. Once everything is over, you will cross borders and leave, never to return to Da Chang City."

Yang Jian said as he walked, a path unfolding before his eyes.

This road was as crimson as blood and seemed endless, as if it connected the past and the future. Ahead, it was filled with cold and terror, as though it was going to lead Li Yi into the abyss of Hell.

"You're afraid that this uncertain factor of a cross-borderer would affect your future, right?" Li Yi immediately said. "That's why you want to reverse time, coming from the future to meet me now. In other words, you're protecting your past."

"You're right, therefore I will eliminate any unstable signs as early as possible. It's not selfish or cruel; it's for the future of the entire world." Yang Jian walked calmly forward along this crimson path.

Li Yi followed behind, feeling a cold force distorting time and space, detaching him from this world. However, he remained calm and continued to ask, "If that's the case, why didn't you appear when I first crossed over, and kill everyone in our cross-border squad? Wouldn't that have been better?"

"You're a participant." Yang Jian replied briefly.

"So that's how it is, simply because you and I met at the Ghost Post Office, so you didn't reverse time to deal with me. You sure are cautious." Li Yi said.

"You understand the butterfly effect, don't you?" Yang Jian said.

"I haven't studied much, not very cultured, so I don't know a lot about scientific principles." Li Yi said.

"In that case, I won't explain." Yang Jian continued to walk forward.

At this moment, everything around had already changed drastically. Li Yi was no longer by the riverbank but had walked into a shattered city. This city was actually on fire, with strange flames igniting everything.

The air was filled with a charred stench, and from time to time, he could hear piercingly sharp screams and horrifying wails.

Li Yi saw all sorts of people appearing on the surrounding streets.

These people were entirely charred black, seemingly burnt, appearing twisted. Some opened their mouths in agony, some reached toward the sky as if seeking redemption, and some lay on the ground in a crawling posture as if trying to escape this burning city.

Li Yi glanced at one of the charred humanoid figures.

Suddenly.

That charred figure's head creaked and twisted around, then revealed a vengeful and cold eye, fixating on Li Yi.

But soon after.

A flame burst out from that eyeball, swiftly reducing it to a scorched state.

"Despite being burnt to this extent, they are still alive." Li Yi's expression changed: "It seems they are not human but... ghosts."

Looking around.

This burning city was vast, with no end in sight. Countless fierce ghosts were being scorched by fierce flames, trapped here, like they had fallen into Hell, never able to leave.

Yang Jian continued walking forward.

The burning city quickly vanished from sight, replaced by a stretch of cold water, with the crimson path spanning across like a floating bridge over this endless lake surface.

Although everything seemed calm, Li Yi could see beneath the water countless people submerged, motionless, like cold corpses.

No matter how many years passed, these corpses in the water showed no change, neither rotting nor floating, but were forever fixed in the water.

"Are the ones submerged in the water also fierce ghosts?" Li Yi was secretly alarmed.

How many fierce ghosts are in this world anyway? If these ghosts weren't trapped here but appeared in reality, just thinking about it would make one shudder.

Yet as they continued forward, the surroundings changed once more.

This time Li Yi found himself in a wilderness.

This wilderness also had no bounds, endless, yet stood numerous large knives, densely packed like wild grass, filling every corner of this wilderness.

Amidst these, there were many eerie figures, wandering through the wilderness, but as soon as they touched one of these large knives, their bodies were split in half. If the fragmented corpses continued to move, they would be cut again until the bodies became so fragmented they could no longer move.

But Li Yi saw that as time passed, those motionless fragmented corpses began to wriggle again, attracted by an incomprehensible force, reassembling themselves, then standing up again, only to once more wander and touch the knives in the wilderness, getting split into halves again.

Thus, this cycle continued endlessly with no end in sight.

"It's not countless knives, but just one knife, with paranormal forces affecting the space here, causing this knife to appear in every corner." Li Yi, upon further observation, made an astonishing discovery.

Based on this, it seems everything here is not naturally formed but deliberately created, with the purpose of trapping these indestructible fierce ghosts here.

Moreover, each place corresponds to a layer of space. Even if some slipped through the net and climbed out of the burning city, they would fall into that bottomless lake. If any fierce ghosts emerged from the lake, they would then face the knife-covered wilderness... one link after another, ensuring that even after hundreds of years, no fierce ghosts could escape these cages.

"What is this place? Why are so many fierce ghosts imprisoned here?" Li Yi asked.

"This is Hell." Yang Jian replied coldly ahead.

Hell?

Li Yi stiffened inside, indeed this place seemed like Hell.

As he continued forward, he passed through layer after layer of Hell. He didn't count specifically, but there were at least a dozen layers. The deeper he went into Hell, the fewer ghosts were imprisoned, but correspondingly, they were more terrifying.

Fortunately, Li Yi was a cultivator, so he wasn't as afraid of these eerie things. If he were an ordinary person, he'd probably have fainted long ago, not daring to walk in such a hellish place.

Yet the red path under his feet seemed to ensure safety, allowing Li Yi to pass through over a dozen layers of Hell without being attacked by fierce ghosts, leaving his split short stick unused.

Very quickly.

Yang Jian halted his steps in front, and the red path came to an end.

This was a dark and dead world. Although there was a sky, ground, roads, and buildings, it was lifeless, utterly deserted, as if it were a forgotten place.

"We've arrived, wait here for a while. I'll go bring your mother's soul over." Yang Jian said, and without waiting for Li Yi's response, his figure suddenly vanished.

At this moment, it seemed like only Li Yi was left in this silent world.

He grasped the short stick, vigilant of his surroundings, while flicking his fingers, his mana forming layers of nets enveloping dozens of kilometers. During this time, anything moving within the mana-covered area would be sensed accurately by Li Yi.

In a world filled with the supernatural, Li Yi wasn't the least bit careless.

However, soon he sensed traces of activity in a dilapidated village over ten kilometers away, making Li Yi understand that even in such a place, fierce ghosts existed.

It's just that everything here was isolated by Hell, so people in reality weren't affected.

"Is this the truth of World No. 36?" Li Yi thought to himself.

If so, this is terrifying. It's like living atop a bomb every day, never knowing when Hell might collapse, and those imprisoned fierce ghosts come forth.

Luckily, he didn't wait long in this desperate world.

Soon after, something suddenly appeared beside him.

It was a black cat, but to Li Yi, it was not an ordinary cat. A soul was attached to this black cat, and his eyes could see the soul light emanating from the cat.

"Is this my mother?" Li Yi had an indescribable feeling.

This black cat was also looking at Li Yi, its eyes filled with a touch of incredulity.
