"Just when I thought my life couldn't get any weirder, it does. Turns out, when someone ominously says, 'Stay alert,' what they really mean is, 'Expect to get ambushed in the middle of the night.' Thanks for the heads-up, Kira."

---

It's past midnight, and I'm lying in bed, staring at the ceiling.

Blobby is perched on my nightstand, humming a weird little tune.

"Boss, are you asleep?" it whispers.

"Blobby, if I was, I wouldn't be now," I reply.

"Good! Because I was thinking—"

Before it can finish, a sharp sound cuts through the air.

Glass shattering.

I sit up immediately. "What was that?"

Blobby flutters nervously. "Uh…maybe it's the wind?"

"Yeah, because wind is totally known for breaking windows," I mutter, grabbing a flashlight.

---

I creep down the hallway, my heart pounding. The house is eerily quiet, the kind of quiet that makes you hyper-aware of every creak and shadow.

"Boss, this feels like a bad idea," Blobby whispers from its hiding spot in my bag.

"Tell me something I don't know," I reply.

---

As I reach the living room, I spot the source of the noise: the shattered window near the back door.

And standing in the middle of the room is a figure cloaked in darkness.

"Seriously?" I groan. "Can I not get one night of peace?"

The figure turns to face me, their glowing red eyes piercing through the shadows.

"You're Akira Tanaka," they say, their voice low and gravelly.

"Wow, what gave it away?" I reply, crossing my arms. "The pajamas or the bedhead?"

---

The intruder steps closer, and I finally get a good look at them. They're tall, dressed in dark armor that seems to shimmer with an otherworldly glow.

"My name is Kael," they say. "And I've been sent to eliminate you."

"Of course, you have," I mutter. "Because nothing says 'fun night' like a death threat from a guy who looks like he walked out of a video game."

---

Blobby pops out of my bag, clearly panicked.

"Boss! He's giving off major boss fight vibes!"

"No kidding," I reply, backing away slowly.

Kael raises a hand, and a blade of crackling energy materializes in his grip.

"I won't waste time with pleasantries," he says. "Prepare yourself."

"Prepare myself for what?" I ask. "Getting sliced in half? Because spoiler alert: I'm not into that."

---

Before I can react, Kael lunges at me, his blade aimed directly at my chest.

I barely dodge, the blade slicing through the air inches from my face.

"Okay, time out!" I shout. "Can we talk about this like civilized people?"

Kael ignores me, swinging again.

"Here's the thing about being a so-called chosen one: everyone wants to kill you, but no one wants to explain why. It's like being a contestant on a deadly game show where the only prize is survival."

---

Desperate, I grab the nearest object—a decorative vase—and hurl it at Kael.

It shatters against his armor without leaving a scratch.

"Great," I mutter. "Now I've pissed him off and ruined my aunt's favorite vase."

---

Kael smirks. "Is that the best you can do?"

"Not even close," I lie, trying to think of a way out of this.

Blobby flutters over to me. "Boss, use your wind magic!"

"I'm not exactly in peak form right now!" I hiss.

"Fake it till you make it!" Blobby chirps.

---

Taking a deep breath, I focus on the energy inside me.

With a flick of my hand, I summon a gust of wind that sends Kael stumbling backward.

"Ha!" I shout triumphantly. "Take that!"

Kael recovers quickly, his eyes narrowing. "You're stronger than I expected. But it won't be enough."

"Why does everyone keep saying that?" I mutter.

---

The fight continues, and it's clear I'm outmatched. Kael is faster, stronger, and way more experienced.

But then something unexpected happens.

As Kael raises his blade for a final strike, a burst of light fills the room.

"Step away from him," a familiar voice commands.

Kira steps out of the shadows, her own blade glowing with golden energy.

---

Kael hesitates, his eyes narrowing. "You."

"Me," Kira replies, her voice icy. "And you're trespassing."

She lunges at Kael, their blades clashing in a shower of sparks.

"Confession time: as much as I hate Kira's constant lecturing, seeing her kick butt is kind of awesome. Remind me to never get on her bad side."

---

The battle is intense, but Kira quickly gains the upper hand.

Kael growls in frustration, his armor cracked and his energy flickering.

"This isn't over," he snarls, retreating toward the shattered window.

"Yeah, yeah," Kira replies, rolling her eyes. "That's what they all say."

With a flash of light, Kael disappears into the night.

---

I collapse onto the couch, completely drained.

"Well," I say, "that was fun."

Kira glares at me. "Fun? You almost got yourself killed."

"Hey, I held my own!" I protest.

"For about five seconds," she retorts.

---

Blobby flutters over, clearly impressed.

"Kira, you were amazing!" it gushes. "Boss, you should take notes!"

"Thanks, Blobby," I mutter. "Real helpful."

---

Kira turns to me, her expression serious.

"This is just the beginning," she says. "If Kael found you, others will too. You need to be ready."

"Great," I reply. "Guess I'm never sleeping again."

---

Meanwhile, back at the shadow council's lair, Kael kneels before the leader.

"I failed," he admits, his voice filled with anger.

The leader's eyes gleam. "It doesn't matter. He's growing stronger, just as we expected. And when the time comes, he won't stand a chance against us."

The camera pans to a map covered in glowing runes, with Akira's name circled in red.
