The Peerless Emperor (TPE)

Chapter 17: Chapter 17: The Legion Commanders and the Prime Minister

At this moment, Lin Qian found himself surrounded by a blood-red aura, within which ancient and mysterious runes flickered with a faint glow, constantly sweeping across his body.

"It seems like this is some sort of formation affecting me, trying to probe something," Lin Qian mused as he looked down at the blood-red light enveloping him.

Then, Lin Qian waved his hand toward the people before him. "You may all rise."

"Your Majesty, do you know who dares to disrespect you in this manner? Hua Ling is willing to lead the Divine Sword Army to eliminate those who challenge the imperial authority!" Hua Ling, her face as cold as ice despite her stunning beauty, trembled with fury.

"Hua Ling, we followed His Majesty to this strange land. The exit from the empire lies within His Majesty's body. With your current power, if you try to pass through the Sky Scar, His Majesty's body won't be able to withstand it—you'll end up killing him," Zhuge Ming warned Hua Ling, shaking his head.

In the valley, during Lin Qian's first return to the Huaxia Empire, Zhuge Ming had explained many things to him.

The Sky Scar, as Zhuge Ming called it, was the vortex above the capital of the Huaxia Empire, connected to Lin Qian's dantian.

Whenever Lin Qian returned to the Huaxia Empire, the Sky Scar would vanish.

The inanimate objects within the Huaxia Empire could pass through the Sky Scar without issue, but the living beings—the generals who had gained life, and the army units with an artificial intelligence-like presence—could not pass through as easily.

The massive planet that housed the Huaxia Empire was originally the entire server space of Lin Qian's game, which he alone had dominated.

This demonstrated just how powerful the Huaxia Empire in his past life had become.

Now, within the Huaxia Empire, even these Legion Commanders, let alone non-combatant scholars like Zhuge Ming, could destroy the Myriad Manifestations Sect with a mere sneeze!

With such overwhelming power, attempting to pass through the Sky Scar would cause Lin Qian's body to explode under the strain.

As a result, only Zhao Long, whose strength could be freely controlled and who could adjust to Lin Qian's needs, could safely lead low-level troops through the Sky Scar.

"If I could pass through, I'd make sure those who oppose His Majesty perish without a trace," Ji Qing said with a sly smile, his expression cold and sinister.

"You sneaky rat, always lurking in the shadows with your underhanded tricks," Xu Meng retorted, looking down on Ji Qing's methods.

"Ha, do you think you're a match for me, you big oaf? I could knock you senseless with a single strike," Ji Qing shot back.

"How interesting. Do you think you can even touch me?" Ji Qing taunted.

Li Rong laughed awkwardly as he stepped between Ji Qing and Xu Meng. "You two, please don't argue in front of His Majesty."

"Hahaha, exactly! Why argue when you can settle it with a fight?" Guan Yi chuckled heartily, crossing his arms over his chest.

"You're all just a bunch of boring men, except for His Majesty," Hua Ling said, turning her back as if unwilling to watch the commotion.

Meanwhile, Zhao Long and Zhuge Ming stood together, discussing potential solutions as they observed the blood-red aura around Lin Qian.

Seated on the imperial throne, Lin Qian smiled at the lively scene before him. In his past life, within this very hall, the figures before him had merely repeated their pre-set lines, stiff and mechanical.

But now, they were alive, animated by their own thoughts and personalities.

"Thank you, heavens, for making my dream come true," Lin Qian thought gratefully.

There is nothing more beautiful than seeing a dying wish fulfilled.

"Alright, that's enough. Stop arguing," Lin Qian's voice was absolute, and the figures below him immediately ceased their quarrels, standing in two neat lines.

Zhao Long stood at the head of the left row, with Hua Ling, Xu Meng, and Ji Qing beside him.

Zhuge Ming stood at the head of the right row, with Guan Yi and Li Rong beside him.

"Prime Minister, given your research on this world through my data, can you determine what's happening now that my martial soul has awakened?" Lin Qian asked, sitting high on the dragon throne, his gaze resting on Zhuge Ming.

Zhuge Ming stepped forward, cupping his hands in a respectful gesture. "Your Majesty, the martial soul is based on the soul, and your soul, having been reincarnated into this world, naturally possesses dual martial souls."

"With the empire fully restored and its imperial might contained by formations, no longer suppressing your body, your martial soul has now awakened."

"I believe the black sword comes from the former emperor, and the white sword from the empress dowager."

After Zhuge Ming's explanation, Lin Qian nodded thoughtfully. "Your reasoning is sound, Prime Minister."

Lin Qian was well aware that all the data about his body had been transmitted to the Huaxia Empire through the Sky Scar over the years.

In fact, Zhuge Ming probably understood Lin Qian's physical condition better than Lin Qian himself.

The Ministry of Engineering was the research hub of the Huaxia Empire, responsible for technological advancements, empire upgrades, and general modifications in Lin Qian's past game.

Zhuge Ming, the Prime Minister of the Huaxia Empire and the head of the Ministry of Engineering, oversaw a staggering number of scholars—over one billion—dedicated to researching every aspect of the empire.

During the colossal cross-server battle in Lin Qian's previous life, the Huaxia Empire had emerged victorious, but it was left in ruins.

This broken empire had crossed over into this new world, and its once-mechanical inhabitants had gained life, with Zhuge Ming leading the restoration efforts.

If not for the sheer number of people Lin Qian had resurrected in his final act of defiance before his death, using a billion-dollar purchase to revive all the fallen generals, beasts, soldiers, and other units, the restoration would have taken tens of thousands of years.

As the final few minor flaws were corrected, the Huaxia Empire was fully restored, and the suppression on Lin Qian's body lifted, allowing his martial soul to awaken.

After all, the Huaxia Empire was his empire, not his martial soul.

Reflecting on all this, Lin Qian couldn't help but feel a chill. If he hadn't been so impulsive in his final moments and spent that vast fortune to revive everything, it would have taken an eternity to recover.

"What can we do about this formation that's probing my body? Can we use countermeasures?" Lin Qian asked as he rose from the dragon throne, spreading his hands toward Zhuge Ming.

Zhuge Ming, brimming with confidence, bowed to Lin Qian. "Your Majesty, rest assured. With the power of the Ministry of Engineering, we have a ten out of ten chance of using a countermeasure to make the people behind this curse formation die instantly."

Lin Qian descended from the throne, hands clasped behind his back, walking between his loyal subjects as he made his way toward the exit of the Huaxia Hall.

"Let's head to the Ministry of Engineering and give these unknown enemies a little surprise!"
