Chapter 149: Chapter 149: Big Brother
The Stone Tribe wasn't particularly large, so it didn't take long for all two thousand or so members to gather in front of the tribe's fields. They stood there, looking at Lin Qian with a mix of curiosity and reverence as he stood beside their chief.
As for Shi Kang and Shi Mei, they stood out among the crowd due to their clean appearances and new clothes, their eyes filled with gratitude and admiration as they gazed at Lin Qian.
"Is everyone here?" Lin Qian asked, glancing at Shi Niu. "I need to be certain that no one is left in those dangerous stone houses."
Shi Niu nodded firmly. "Benefactor, everyone is here."
"Organize them by families, with the most needy at the front," Lin Qian instructed.
Shi Niu and Shi Meng immediately set about arranging the tribe members as directed, forming a long line in front of Lin Qian.
Once everyone was in place, Lin Qian turned around, gathering his thunderous soul force to its maximum. Raising his right hand, he formed a spinning, compressed ball of soul energy.
With a casual toss, Lin Qian hurled the ball of energy toward the fields, where it crashed into the ground with a deafening roar. The impact sent a shockwave through the earth, causing dust and debris to fly into the air.
As the dust settled, Lin Qian waved his hand, sending a gust of wind to blow the remaining dust away, revealing a large, deep pit where the fields had once been.
The Stone Tribe members stared in stunned silence, unable to comprehend what they had just witnessed.
Chief Shi Yun could see the anger building in his people's eyes as they watched their precious fields destroyed.
"Everyone, stay where you are and await further instructions from Lord Lin Qian. Anyone who disobeys will be expelled from the Stone Tribe!" Shi Yun commanded, his voice laced with authority.
At his words, the murmuring crowd gradually fell silent. The chief's words carried great weight among the tribe.
But then, their expressions shifted from anger to shock as they watched Lin Qian raise his hand once more. A stream of crystal-clear water appeared out of thin air, cascading from the sky into the pit.
In mere moments, the pit was transformed into a clear, pristine pond.
The people of the Stone Tribe stood in awe, speechless as they stared at the sight before them. Never in their lives had they seen so much clean, pure water.
Lin Qian then raised his hand again, and with a loud crash, a white jade platform descended from the sky, landing on the ground.
After the platform appeared, Lin Qian turned to the first family in line—a thin couple with three children—and beckoned them forward. "Come up."
The thin man led his family up the platform with trepidation, his eyes wide with confusion as he stood before Lin Qian.
With a slight wave of his hand, Lin Qian conjured two cloth bags, a spacious wooden box, a carrying pole, and two buckets.
"These are for your family," Lin Qian said, gesturing to the items.
The thin man hesitated before opening one of the cloth bags, his eyes widening in astonishment. Inside were grains of plump, white rice—something he had never seen before. The grains were pristine, without a single blemish or impurity.
He quickly opened the second bag, finding fresh vegetables and fruits, along with meat he had only ever heard of but never seen.
His wife opened the wooden box, revealing clean, soft clothes similar to those worn by Shi Niu and his family.
With another loud crash, the Stone Tribe members turned to see one of their old stone houses being flattened by a wooden structure that had descended from the sky.
"That's your new home," Lin Qian told the thin man, pointing to the wooden house. "Move in with your family. If you need water, you can fetch it from the pond behind you."
The thin man stood there in disbelief, his mind struggling to process what had just happened.
"Shi Erniu, why are you just standing there? Thank Lord Lin Qian and get moving! The rest of the tribe is waiting," Shi Niu called out to his dazed cousin.
Shi Erniu snapped out of his stupor, hastily kneeling with his family to thank Lin Qian before leaving the platform.
In an instant, the entire Stone Tribe erupted in excitement. Their eyes were filled with tears of joy as they looked at Lin Qian, realizing that hope had finally come to them.
The Stone Tribe was no longer filled with crumbling stone houses. In their place were the sturdy wooden houses Lin Qian had brought from the Hua Xia Empire. These houses, made of an ironwood even tougher than stone, were crafted by the empire's skilled artisans in the blink of an eye.
But to the people of the Stone Tribe, they were more than just structures—they were symbols of a new life.
The tribe was transformed. The people, now clean and well-fed, wore new clothes and smiled with happiness. The fear and confusion that had once marred their faces were gone, replaced with hope and contentment.
As Lin Qian stood on the side of the road, he suddenly heard the delighted voices of children behind him. Turning around, he saw more than twenty children running toward him.
Now that they were clean and dressed in new clothes, these children looked no different from any other human children outside this small world, their faces full of innocence.
The children gathered around Lin Qian, their eyes filled with curiosity as they bombarded him with questions about the outside world.
The tribe's chief, Shi Yun, had already explained to the tribe what Lin Qian had told him earlier. While the children didn't fully understand, they knew that their benefactor, their big brother, came from a far better world.
"Giant Goblins are coming! The Giant Goblins are coming!" As Lin Qian was answering the children's questions, he suddenly heard screams of panic from a distance. The children around him also began to grow fearful.
"Don't be afraid. As long as I'm here, you won't have anything to worry about," Lin Qian reassured them, his voice firm.
His words seemed to calm the children, who nodded in response, their fear fading away.
"Go home now. Big brother will go see what's going on," Lin Qian told them, and the children quickly dispersed.
Once they were gone, Lin Qian's expression turned cold and serious as he made his way toward the tribe's entrance.
