Chapter 735: Give Him a Billion First
Tang Rao was on the brink of insanity. Why, oh why does everywhere I go ask me to sign up for some card... Card card card, do you not know how terrifying the hair salon membership card sales are in Blue Star Yan Country?
It's a nightmare, literally.
Of course, Tang Rao couldn't just lash out at the young girl, who was sporting a smile after all. They say you shouldn't slap a smiling face.
"What's the difference between the Silver Card, Gold Card, Platinum Card, and the Super Rich Card?" Tang Rao had to ask clearly what's what.
What if I got a Silver Card and then they say I can't post tasks? That would be a waste of time.
"Hello, Mr. Tang, this depends on the amount you recharge onto the card. Starting from one hundred Immortal Stones, one hundred to one million for a Silver Card, one million to ten million for a Gold Card, ten million to a hundred million for a Platinum Card, and recharging over a hundred million Immortal Stones makes it a Super Rich Card." The girl behind the counter explained briskly.
"I see." Tang Rao nodded, that seemed straightforward. And the girl wasn't actually pitching sales, just presenting information, which was somewhat of a relief to Tang Rao since, compared to those hair salon workers, she was downright angelic.
"Sir, how many Immortal Stones would you like to recharge?" she asked.
Just as Tang Rao was about to speak, he felt a bump on his shoulder.
Tang Rao turned around to see a young lad, probably about seventeen or eighteen, quite ordinary-looking. However, the girl in his arms was quite the beauty—fresh and elegant yet with a stunning figure.
"What you looking at?" The young lad seemed annoyed when he saw Tang Rao looking at him.
Tang Rao was somewhat helpless. What do you mean 'what you looking at?' What the heck is that attitude? You bump into me and now you're getting aggressive? Don't think just because you're holding a beauty I won't dare to hit you. Piss me off and I might just beat you until your dad can't recognize you, you son of a turtle.
"Kid, you bumped into me just now and I didn't say anything. Could have let it go without an apology, but isn't your attitude a bit much?" Tang Rao squinted his eyes. He didn't expect to run into such an obnoxious brat right off the bat.
"Too much? That's a joke! From out of town, huh? You've no clue who Lu Tianhao is. Let me tell you, in Bounty City, I have no idea what 'too much' even means!" The young dude was insufferably arrogant, pointing at Tang Rao like he was above it all.
"So what do you want to do about it?" Tang Rao asked, encountering such a bastard boy, if I don't put on an act here, I'd be letting down my audience who love and spoil me!
"Move it. Taking forever just to sign up for a card, just for you, rubbish, aren't you?!" Lu Tianhao continued his obnoxious tirade.
"Fine, you go ahead." Tang Rao stepped aside, gesturing for Lu Tianhao to go first.
"Oh, at least you're sensible." Seeing Tang Rao step aside, Lu Tianhao tipped his nose even higher.
You think you're a giraffe or something, head reaching for the sky... Tang Rao silently scorned Lu Tianhao in his heart.
"My dear, which card are you going to get me?" The woman in Lu Tianhao's arms cooed sweetly.
"Of course, it's a bounty card. In our Bounty City, almost everyone has one. Of course, most of them are just ordinary Silver Cards. Since you're with me, naturally, I should get you the best." Lu Tianhao said, overflowing with doting affection.
Tang Rao could hardly stand it. The kid's fuzz isn't even fully grown, and he's here flaunting his love, force-feeding me dog food—I want to smack you dead!
"Here's one million Immortal Stones, for a Gold Card." Lu Tianhao handed over a Storage Card with a showy air.
"Alright, sir, please fill out your information." The window girl passed over a form.
Lu Tianhao wasted no words and swiftly filled out the information before handing it back.
In less than three minutes, a shiny Gold Bounty Card was processed and ready.
"Here, take this." Lu Tianhao placed the Gold Card in the woman's hand, taking the opportunity to cop a feel, which elicited a coy protest from her.
Tang Rao was on the verge of throwing punches. I thought you were so badass, so rich, such a freaking landowner – turns out it's just a mere million...
"Come on, it's your turn now." Lu Tianhao turned around and looked at Tang Rao with a face full of challenge.
Clearly, Lu Tianhao had no intention of leaving right away; he wanted to see how much Tang Rao would top up.
In Lu Tianhao's eyes, someone as poor as him would be reaching for the sky if he could add a thousand Immortal Stones.
Tang Rao glanced at Lu Tianhao. Fine, since you want to stick around and watch me show off, daddy will give you a good performance.
"That, uh, I'll get a bounty card too," Tang Rao stepped forward and said.
"Sure, sir. How much would you like to top up?" the pretty girl at the counter asked with a smile on her face.
"Let's start with a hundred million," Tang Rao said. He was planning big things, aiming to bolster the Kao Shan Sect within three months, or at the very least, make it look impressive.
To defeat the Dark Moon Association and boost the reputation, sparing no expense was necessary.
Besides, Illusion City was gradually getting on track. Nowadays, roughly ten million people use Illusion City.
Although this number might seem insignificant compared to the entire Land of Immortals, its money-making potential was already becoming apparent.
In just half a month, the Immortal Stones Tang Rao had earned from Illusion City had already reached two hundred million.
He wasn't putting on airs just for the sake of it; he genuinely needed to top up a hundred million, and it was just Lu Tianhao who brought it upon himself to witness it.
Hearing Tang Rao mention topping up a hundred million, the girl issuing the card obviously froze for a moment, then joy and caution appeared in her eyes.
As for Lu Tianhao, he was completely stunned, staring dumbfoundedly at Tang Rao.
A hundred million, what kind of joke was that! That's for the Super Rich Card, even his bounty card was just a Platinum Card, topped up with ten million.
That ten million took him years of living frugally and scamming his family.
How could this bumpkin from out of town possibly have so much money?
"Here's the Immortal Stone. Please have a look," Tang Rao said, as he handed over a Storage Card filled with Immortal Stones.
The pretty girl at the counter carefully took the Storage Card and began to check.
A person like this was either incredibly powerful in their own right or had a fearsome background—definitely not someone to offend.
A hundred million Immortal Stones, my god, some smaller forces couldn't muster that much even if they pooled all their resources. Even for a medium-sized sect, coming up with a hundred million would likely be tough.
"Sir, the transaction is complete. Here is your Storage Card, please wait a moment," the girl handed the Storage Card back to Tang Rao, took a form, and began quickly filling it out.
Usually, this paperwork is supposed to be filled out by the applicant themself, but since Tang Rao applied for a Super Rich Card, everything was done with the principle of saving him time and effort.
In less than a minute, the information was filled out, and once Tang Rao signed, it became official.
"Mr. Tang, here's your Super Rich Card. Thank you for supporting Bounty Hall, and we wish you a pleasant life," the pretty girl stood up and solemnly handed over the processed bounty card to Tang Rao with both hands.
