The Peerless Beauty Stuck With Me

Chapter 584: A Great Event

Tang Rao gave Fang Jinxiu several looks, his mouth making tsk tsk tsk noises.

Perhaps provoked by Tang Rao's sounds, Fang Jinxiu's gaze sharpened, his eyes narrowing into slits, staring straight at Tang Rao.

"Tang Rao, Daddy Jinxiu is sincerely apologizing to you, what do you mean by tsk-ing away?" Fang Jinxiu asked.

"Not at all, I just think you're being too polite, no need to apologize to me. Besides, I just took care of a big deal, all thanks to you. If you hadn't come to gamble, I wouldn't have known about such a great place," Tang Rao said with a smile.

"Are you mocking me?" Fang Jinxiu looked even more displeased.

"Really not, I'm praising you, expressing my gratitude."

"Bang!" The next moment, Tang Rao retreated from Illusion City, holding his crotch with both hands, a look of pain on his face.

Yes, Fang Jinxiu, this nutcase, had delivered a swift and fierce crotch kick right in the room, aimed remarkably accurately.

Although Tang Rao's defenses were strong, that kind of impact to 'that thing' still hurt a lot.

"Holy shit, Fang Jinxiu what the hell..."

"Cut out the creepy sarcasm, it has nothing to do with you here, scram back to your own room. Let me tell you, if you talk like that again, I'll kick you again. I said I won't gamble, and that's final. If you bring it up again, use this to gross me out, I'll make a few hundred Thunder cannons and blow you to pieces," Fang Jinxiu glared at Tang Rao with a look that said 'I'm very annoyed, get lost or I'll bite'.

Tang Rao: "..."

Tang Rao stayed on the Moon for most of a month, with basically nothing happening.

The war between the Central Emperor Realm and the Soul Capture Pavilion was slowly coming to an end. With Tu Sheng present, and Tang Rao's secret support, the Soul Capture Pavilion couldn't gain much of an advantage.

When the war became a mutual drain, both sides began to stand down, no one willing to engage in such self-destructive behavior.

As for Zhou Boxiong, that guy was a true talent, spending a whopping two trillion Spirit Stones in half a month. Of course, the returns were quite gratifying, with many cultivators recruited, including quite a few peak Tribulation Passers.

Pretty good, all things considered.

As for Liu Hongyi, Tang Rao finally understood what 'gambling ruins lives and families' meant.

He didn't spend a penny but earned several billion Spirit Stones, and most precious of all, he felt a lot of Heavenly Dao oaths targeting himself throughout the half month.

No less than ten peak Tribulation Passers.

"Yan Wei, how is it going with Giant Merchant Star?" Tang Rao asked, legs propped up inside the control room.

"Not bad, everything is deployed, next up is infiltration and control. Soon, we'd be able to control a large number of people on Giant Merchant Star. Doing so might provoke hostility from Giant Merchant Star though, should we really go through with it?" Yan Wei asked.

"A gentleman does not stand under a wall about to fall, if Giant Merchant Star wants to provoke, then I can't spoil their fun. Indeed, Giant Merchant Star is mighty, even surpassing the Soul Capture Pavilion in the number of cultivators they possess. However, a businessman is still a businessman, profit as their top priority, which means their solidarity can't be that strong. It's perfect because I happen to be quite skilled in undermining such foundations," Tang Rao said with a sly smile.

"Giant Merchant Star has met with bad luck having crossed you," Yan Wei gave Tang Rao a sideways glance.

"Enough talk, I've been bored for a while, let's go out and find some fun." Tang Rao got up, having cultivated for half a month, he felt uncomfortable all over.

In Tang Rao's view, cultivation was something that should be balanced with rest. When in the mood, cultivate, when not, just go for a walk and strut around.

He could never do that kind of cultivation where one meditates for years or even decades straight.

It's a dehumanizing practice.

By then, you might be more powerful, but I guess you'll also be completely off your rocker.

"Are you going to the Seventy-two Domains?" Yan Wei asked.

"Yeah, got anything you want me to take for you? How about I bring you back a pretty girl to spice things up? Li Li is pregnant now, you must be desperate..." Tang Rao blinked and teased.

"Get lost!" Yan Wei cursed at him directly, "Since you're going to the Seventy-two Domains, take this with you."

Yan Wei tossed over a box.

"The second-generation network receiver, just scatter it around various places in the Seventy-two Domains. Of course, you can hide it more securely if you feel like it," Yan Wei said casually.

Opening the box, Tang Rao found it filled with tiny spiders, all black and looking just like real ones.

"Do these things move?" asked Tang Rao. Yan Wei had turned the network receivers into little spiders—who would pay attention to a spider, anyway?

"Yeah, they can even bite, and if you squeeze them, they'll explode, so be careful," nodded Yan Wei.

At that moment, Tang Rao was holding the legs of the mechanical spiders. Hearing Yan Wei's words, he almost threw them away.

"Enough with that, any other business? If not, I'm off," Tang Rao put the box into his storage ring.

"You'd better check out Cui Baiyi. This old guy has been way too quiet lately. He might be planning something big," said Yan Wei. It was just a suspicion, but better to be safe than sorry.

"Got it, bye," Tang Rao waved his hand and in the next moment, he vanished from the control room.

The next time he appeared, Tang Rao had already reached... well, Blue Star...

"Let's drop a Little Spider here first..." Tang Rao found a random sewer and tossed a spider down.

Such a high-end gadget must be waterproof.

After ditching the spider, Tang Rao headed to Tiandu, to the headquarters of the Cultivator Defense Bureau.

To avoid any hassle, Tang Rao didn't use the main entrance and of course, not the back door either—through a Space Rift, he went straight into Li Yuze's room.

"Holy shit, you scared the crap out of me!" Li Yuze was lounging at his desk, smoking when he saw Tang Rao and almost jumped out of his skin.

"General Li, scaring you was my bad. How about you return the favor and give me a good scare?" said Tang Rao, deadpan.

"Alright, bro, what's so important that you had to come in person?" Li Yuze stood up and handed Tang Rao a cigarette.

Tang Rao didn't hesitate, lighting it up and then sitting down.

"Yu Ze, I have a grand undertaking to entrust to you. This mission is vital to the survival of Blue Star and the rise and fall of humanity, concerning all living beings and the common people. I wonder if you are willing to take it on," Tang Rao said after taking a couple of puffs, thumping the table with a righteous fervor.

"Can I say I'm unwilling?" asked Li Yuze.

"Well, that... might not be an option..."

"Then why the hell are you asking? Spit it out!"

"Yu Ze, you're swearing, you've changed... Are you still the shy guy who blushes at the sight of a girl?"

Li Yuze: "..."

"Okay, no more kidding around. This earth-shattering, soul-stirring task I want you to undertake is: well, you see, you're quite handsome, what do you think about... tempting others with your looks?"

"I refuse!!" Li Yuze shouted thunderously. Although Tang Rao hadn't specified, his instincts told him it was nothing good.
