Chapter 488: Whether It Is or Isn't, It's Not
Qin Sheng had been feeling quite unhappy these past few days because of the matter with Mei Fanghua; it was nothing short of a complete mess.
In truth, he did not want to meddle in Mei Fanghua's messy affairs, but he had no choice; after all, there was still old romance.
One couldn't just stand by and watch someone die.
Besides, Qin Sheng felt guilty about the scandals he had created with Mei Fanghua back in the day. Guilt demanded compensation.
However, over the past couple of days, he had heard some unsettling rumors.
Something about Qin Moyan not being his son, Qin Sheng.
At first, Qin Sheng had scoffed at the notion, dismissing it as ridiculous. How could Qin Moyan not be my son? They were so alike! Whether it was their demeanors or temperaments, they were identical, even their talent for cultivation was exceptionally good.
If Qin Moyan was not his son, then whose son could he be?
But the rumor kept spreading, becoming more intense. It was the talk of the streets.
The saying goes, "three men make a tiger," and it had sown chaos in Qin Sheng's mind, making him increasingly irritable, as if there was a thorn constantly pricking his heart.
If he did not extract this thorn, he would never be at peace.
Qin Sheng did not want to play the fool, nor did he wish to unwittingly raise someone else's son.
Although he had raised Qin Moyan from a young age, if Qin Moyan truly wasn't his son, Qin Sheng wouldn't hesitate; he would take action to cripple Qin Moyan.
Why? Because it's uncomfortable to raise a child that isn't one's own flesh and blood.
A troubled heart obstructs the path of cultivation, which is tantamount to destroying one's own future. Qin Sheng, a man on the verge of reaching Great Perfection, could not allow these issues to plague him!
Having decided, Qin Sheng was ready to find a bloodline expert for verification.
He would look for the best, and Mo Tizhun from the first king star was the first choice, no doubt.
Mo Tizhun was not only famous on the first king star but could be considered top-ranking among the bloodline analysts across the Nine Realms and Seventy-two Domains—a true grandmaster.
Having made up his mind, Qin Sheng did not delay. He took samples of his own blood, as well as Qin Moyan's, and left immediately.
In just a few breaths' time, Qin Sheng arrived at Mo Tizhun's courtyard.
Mo Tizhun's yard was cluttered and messy, resembling a pile of ashes. However, this was typical of Mo Tizhun, who was known to everyone for not caring about appearances, notoriously untidy.
"Mo Tizhun, are you there?" Upon entering the courtyard, Qin Sheng called out loudly.
"Who's there, disturbing my sleep..." Mo Tizhun's voice came from inside the room.
Qin Sheng didn't bother with pleasantries and followed the sound, pushing open the room door.
A strong smell of alcohol hit him as the door opened, and the room looked even dirtier than the outside, hardly any place to step.
On the dark ground lay a person, obviously Mo Tizhun himself.
"Who are you?" Mo Tizhun tilted his head and looked at Qin Sheng standing at the door.
"You don't need to know who I am, just help me analyze this bloodline," said Qin Sheng.
Hearing it was for a bloodline analysis, Mo Tizhun finally struggled to get up: "Oh, a customer has arrived. Sorry about that, ah, what's that, please take a seat outside for a moment. Would you like something to drink?"
Qin Sheng: "..."
Would you dare drink anything here? It's so filthy, it's practically deadly.
"No need, just hurry up and come out," Qin Sheng said as he turned to leave and stood quietly waiting in the yard.
He didn't even want to sit; the benches in the yard appeared equally covered in grime.
A few minutes later, Mo Tizhun emerged from the room, still yawning and looking sleepy.
Though he had changed his clothes, he still looked dirty. It's likely that he simply changed into another set of unwashed clothes from before.
"Sir, won't you sit down?" Mo Tizhun had already casually taken a seat and glanced at Qin Sheng in front of him before asking.
"No need." Qin Sheng shook his head, then directly took out two blood samples and placed them on the table, "I need you to determine the relationship between the owners of these two blood samples."
"Well, this, sir, as you know, I have some reputation in the industry. So, the fee will be quite high." Mo Tizhun said.
Qin Sheng didn't waste any words, directly throwing out a Space Token.
"There are one hundred thousand Spirit Stones inside." Qin Sheng said, his generosity evidently substantial.
"Sir, your generosity makes this no problem at all, please return in two days to retrieve the results," Mo Tizhun said.
Qin Sheng's brow furrowed ever so slightly, although compared to other bloodline verifiers, two days was already very fast, he did not want to wait that long.
"Can't it be done any faster?" Qin Sheng asked.
"It can, but it requires too much energy. I'm not that young anymore, and it could harm my lifespan," Mo Tizhun said with difficulty.
"I'll give you two hours, finish it within two hours, and these five hundred thousand Spirit Stones are yours," Qin Sheng took out another Space Token, and gave it a shake as he spoke.
Hearing about the five hundred thousand Spirit Stones, Mo Tizhun's eyes squinted into slits.
"Sir, you truly are the most decisive person I've ever met. Please wait just two hours. Even if it costs me my life, I will ensure your matter is taken care of," Mo Tizhun said.
"Won't the short time affect accuracy?" Qin Sheng asked.
"There's absolutely no chance of that, as long as it's calculated by me, Mo Tizhun, there's no inaccuracy. If any other bloodline verifier gives you an incorrect result, you're free to take my life," Mo Tizhun declared.
After speaking, Mo Tizhun took the two blood samples and ran to the nearby workspace.
Qin Sheng had no doubt and just stood outside waiting in dry earnest.
As for in the workspace, Mo Tizhun kicked back and swayed his legs, not even attempting to assay the two blood samples.
Why bother testing? The man outside was Qin Sheng, so whether or not these blood samples were from a father-son relationship, they weren't.
Even if they were, for Tang Rao, Mo Zhunti was willing to go all in.
This would mean destroying his own reputation.
But Mo Zhunti didn't care; he had long lost interest in this profession, dull to death. Watching domestic soap operas day in and day out was utterly boring.
The Illusion City that Tang Rao gave him was much better; there were so many shows to watch, and even movies about male-female battles, utterly thrilling to the point of explosion.
After this gig, he was heading straight to the Moon.
In those two hours, Mo Tizhun watched two more of those male-female battle movies, so captivating they were.
Mo Tizhun felt they were absolutely fantastic, especially the actress, beautiful with nice screams, just that her teeth were unpleasant to look at.
However, after watching about a dozen, it seemed like all the actresses had unattractive teeth.
He wasn't sure what that was about.
"Alright, time's about up," Mo Tizhun exited the Illusion City and then calmed himself down before fiercely slapping himself.
With that, Mo Tizhun's face turned somewhat pale, looking like he was about to collapse.
Then, Mo Tizhun opened the door and walked out of the workspace.
Seeing Mo Tizhun emerge, Qin Sheng's eyes suddenly brightened.
"Sir, your task has been honorably completed, and the results are in. This time, it nearly cost me my old life," Mo Tizhun said, shaking his head.
"How did it go?" Qin Sheng asked.
