Chapter 370: It's All Tricks (1)
Mayer gave Atim a casual glance, then shrugged nonchalantly, a tint of arrogance on his face.
To be honest, he somewhat looked down on Atim.
Even though he was strong, his brain was not quite up to par.
Of course, interacting with such people wasn't bad either; it provided an opportunity to flaunt one's intelligence.
"Hades, you scum, stop right there!" Suddenly, a fierce roar echoed.
Immediately after, two figures rushed forward—one after the other.
The one in front was Hades, and the one behind was Soros.
"Soros, stop chasing! Since ancient times, all things belong to the mighty. If there's anyone to blame, blame Tang Rao for being such an idiot! Hahaha, you might as well go back and save him; he's probably about to die!" Hades roared with laughter.
"Scum, hand it over!" Soros exclaimed furiously.
"Hand it over? Do you even qualify? Just like Tang Rao, both of you are fools!"
"I'll kill you!"
Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!
In the next moment, the two were fighting, fists to flesh, each move fierce.
In less than a minute, both Soros and Hades were covered with injuries. Soros, in particular, had a broken left arm and a huge gash across his chest, bleeding profusely.
"Soros, stop being freaking nuts! Get lost, or I'll kill you!" Hades's murderous intent was intense, his eyes fiercely menacing.
"Hades, remember today's incident! I, Soros, will not rest until one of us is dead!" Saying this, Soros spat out a mouthful of blood and then swiftly retreated.
Watching Soros leave, Hades scoffed, then prepared to depart.
"Duke Hades, wait a moment." Mayer suddenly appeared behind Hades.
Hades narrowed his eyes slightly.
"Mayer, move aside," Hades growled lowly.
"Hades, you're a smart man. As a smart person, you shouldn't struggle unnecessarily. Hand over the items. Otherwise, we might just forcefully take them like you did," Mayer said with a smile.
Clearly, Hades had snatched all the Token, even severely injuring Tang Rao.
Mayer knew Hades well; such actions were typical of him.
Hades was no saint; he had done plenty of killing and looting.
"I don't know what you're talking about," said Hades indifferently.
"Enough, this is pointless. You've got all the Tokens, right? Hand them over, and I'll let you leave. If you're not sensible, well, I can't say what will happen," Mayer sneered.
Saying this, Atim and three other Dukes had already surrounded them, each looking fiercely at Hades.
"Hah! Catch me first!" Hades scoffed, then suddenly sped up, attempting to break through.
The battle commenced immediately.
In less than half a minute, Hades stopped again, covered with injuries.
Facing five opponents, including powerful fighters such as Mayer and Atim, there was no way Hades could gain any advantage.
"Hades, hand over the items! I'm not that patient!" Mayer said coldly.
"I'll give them to you, but what if, after following you, you still decide to kill me?" Hades asked.
"That's simple, I can pledge an oath to Heavenly Dao," Mayer responded promptly, "I, Mayer, swear to Heavenly Dao that if Hades hands over the Token to me, I will no longer pursue him. If I break this oath, may Heavenly Dao destroy me."
Hearing Mayer swear the Heavenly Dao oath, Hades took a deep breath, then took out a bundle of Tokens from his bosom.
"You others, swear to Heavenly Dao too," Hades said, looking at Atim and the others.
"Quickly!" Mayer immediately turned to Atim.
Atim and the others didn't waste any words, quickly establishing a Heavenly Dao oath.
"This time I admit defeat!" Hades didn't say much else, and directly tossed sixteen score Tokens towards Mayer.
As for himself, he crazily retreated into the distance.
Bound by the Heavenly Dao oath, no one chased after Hades.
Besides, Hades had already thrown out the score Tokens, so there was no point in pursuing him any further.
With the sixteen Tokens in hand, Mayer quickly checked them.
Soon, a flush of excitement appeared on Mayer's face.
"Eighty thousand and one!" Mayer muttered to himself. He already had twelve thousand points, and with the addition of eighty thousand one, he now had ninety-three thousand, just seven thousand short of a complete hundred thousand! With a hundred thousand points, he could inherit the King's legacy.
Seven thousand, only Atim has them!
Mayer looked towards Atim, his gaze slightly fierce.
"Mayer, you are definitely the first this time!" Atim said with a grin.
"Being first is one thing, but I'm still seven thousand points short of gathering a hundred thousand," Mayer said, staring at Atim. Even if this guy is a fool, he should understand what I mean by now, right?
"I have nine thousand points, I can give them to you!" Atim immediately offered.
Hearing Atim's words, Mayer instantly broke into a smile.
"However, I have a condition," Atim said as he took out his own score Tokens and walked towards Mayer, "Once you get the hundred thousand points and inherit the King's legacy, you have to cover for me."
"Of course, I, Mayer, swear that as long as I receive the King's legacy, I will treat Atim as a brother! If I betray this, may the Heavenly Dao punish me!" Mayer immediately responded.
"Hehe, Mayer, I knew you were the best," Atim walked up to Mayer and handed his score Token into Mayer's hands.
Upon receiving Atim's Token, Mayer's eyes immediately shot out an astonishing brilliance.
One hundred thousand! Hundred thousand points!
He couldn't believe that he actually managed to gather a hundred thousand points!
"Ha ha ha! The King's legacy!"
"Yes, the King's legacy! Strike now!" In the next moment, Atim suddenly roared.
Without knowing when, the other three Dukes had already approached behind Mayer, and Atim was even closer, just inches away.
All four of them launched an attack at the same moment.
Mayer had never expected Atim to strike, this guy... how could he dare...
Bang bang bang bang!
Four successive explosions, the four men's fists heavily slammed onto Mayer's body.
With one strike, they withdrew!
Mayer's face kept changing colors, from bright, to flushed, to pitch black, and then back to bright.
Pfft!
Suddenly, a stream of blood together with pieces of internal organs sprayed out wildly from Mayer's mouth.
As for Mayer, he then straightened and fell down with a thud, hitting the ground, without any further movement.
And the score Tokens in his hand scattered on the ground, spreading all around.
Only then did Atim let out a cold laugh.
His eyes finally showed shrewdness and indifference.
"Idiot!" Atim looked at Mayer who was barely alive on the ground, disdainfully cursing.
Did you really think I was so dumb? Couldn't you see through my act? You deserved to die.
