Chapter 364: Driven to Madness
"Tang Rao, I'm sorry..." Bo Ya said, biting her lip. In her view, the reason Tang Rao got entangled with Leonardo was entirely her fault.
"Why have so many people been apologizing to me lately..." Tang Rao rolled his eyes.
"This has nothing to do with you; I just can't stand him. Who does he think he is, acting all high and mighty. 'You humans', as if he wasn't once human before becoming a member of the Blood Clan. What a dumbass thing to say." Tang Rao made a snide comment.
Thankfully, Leonardo had already left; otherwise, he probably would have been infuriated by Tang Rao's words.
"But, Leonardo is really powerful..." Bo Ya said.
"If he dares to kick Soros's ass, then I'll admit he's powerful," Tang Rao said disdainfully. That Leonardo is at most at the mid-stage of Golden Core, nowhere near the veteran Dukes like Soros.
"Are you more powerful than him?" Bo Ya's eyes lit up.
She had seen Tang Rao kicking Soros before outside.
Clearly, Tang Rao is on good terms with Soros; if it's not for some special reason, then there's only one explanation: Tang Rao's strength is comparable to Soros's.
"Do you know Hades?" Tang Rao asked with a sly smile.
"Yes," Bo Ya nodded. Hades is one of the strongest Dukes, even slightly more powerful than Lord Soros.
"A few days ago, I beat up Hades," Tang Rao said.
"Ah!!" Bo Ya exclaimed, covering her mouth with her hand, disbelief written all over her face.
"Don't tell anyone, okay? I'm planning to show off tomorrow," Tang Rao said with a smile.
Bo Ya immediately nodded rapidly, her eyes filled with admiration.
Tang Rao, that guy, is always amazingly strong.
"Alright, let's not worry about that, let's eat," Tang Rao said.
"Okay."
...
Night fell quietly, and the people of the Blood Clan who were supposed to come had almost all arrived.
The inheritance competition will start early tomorrow morning, and people of the Blood Clan usually arrive the day before.
At this moment, Tang Rao lay on the bed in the temporarily arranged room, his eyes open, his mouth opening and closing.
"So boring, so boring, so boring..." Indeed, Tang Rao was repeating these three words constantly.
He really was bored out of his mind.
"I can only show off tomorrow; I feel like I'm going to suffer from insomnia tonight," Tang Rao said sadly.
Since Yun Xi wasn't willing to engage in romantic talks with him, he could only rely on these things to pass the dull time.
What he was hoping for now was that the spiritual wisdom had not deceived him and that the Blood Princess's inheritance would be useful to him. If not, he would have to live in boredom for two years, which would be downright torturous.
"Right!" Suddenly, Tang Rao sat up.
"If I don't have Leonardo, I still have Hades!" Tang Rao's mouth curled into a grin, a smile that was chilling to behold.
In a room of the Caleron family, Hades sat alone, not looking very well.
To avoid Tang Rao and Soros, he had deliberately chosen to come at night, only arriving half an hour ago.
He didn't want to be such a coward, but that kid Tang Rao was too tricky. If possible, Hades really didn't want to encounter him again.
Although his body had fully recovered, something still didn't feel quite right.
As for what was wrong, even Hades himself wasn't sure. He was worried, worried that there might still be some tricks Tang Rao had played on his body.
If that's the case, encountering Tang Rao is simply a death wish.
"This damn Xiao Wang—what the hell is his background?!" Hades cursed, unable to contain the fury in his chest.
"Aiyo, who are you cursing at? It sounds like you're cursing at me, don't you think?" Suddenly, an abrupt voice rang out.
Hades sprang up from his chair in a jolt, fright making him almost neurotic.
That voice—Tang Rao!!
He would definitely not mishear it; Tang Rao's voice had long been engraved deep within Hades' soul.
"Open the door, I'm outside." Tang Rao's voice came from outside the room.
Hades' brain felt like it was about to explode. How did Tang Rao know he was here?
Impossible, even the people from the Calernon family didn't know he came here; this room was chosen at random.
How on earth did Tang Rao find him? Could there really still be some kind of mark on him?
Damn it!
In the end, Hades still walked to the door and slowly opened it.
Tang Rao stood at the entrance, smiling in a not-so-kindly manner.
"Tang Rao, you're also here to compete for the king's inheritance. If you act now, you'll be disqualified," Hades immediately said.
"Aiyo wei, why so afraid of me? I'm not going to eat you. Don't worry, I won't make a move. I just came to have a chat with you. I was thinking, it's been several days since I last saw you, so I came to check on you. Are your injuries all healed?" Tang Rao asked while walking into the room.
Hades: "..."
"Why stand there like an idiot, come on in, let's talk," Tang Rao had already taken a seat and was gesturing Hades over.
Hades felt incredibly aggrieved, like he was going to lose his mind.
He was Hades, a Duke, and not just any Duke but an extremely powerful one. And here he was, cowed by Tang Rao, trembling and treading on thin ice; it was a complete humiliation, too humiliating.
"Speak up, what do you actually want!" Hades walked into the room and slightly closed the door.
"Didn't I just say I wanted to chat with you?"
"Tang Rao, let's not beat around the bush. I don't have time for these games!"
"Alright, since it's like this, I'll just tell you straight," Tang Rao nodded. "I want the king's inheritance. So, you have to work hard to help me claim it."
What?
Hades looked at Tang Rao in astonishment.
You're not mistaken, right Tang Rao? You want me to help you seize the inheritance? Are you joking? Do you think I'm your lackey?
"That's impossible," Hades snorted.
"Okay then, if you're unwilling, when the competition starts tomorrow, I'll make sure you're the first to bite the dust. After all, the reason I kept you around was to make you my underling. If you're not willing, then just die," Tang Rao said nonchalantly, shrugging his shoulders.
An unfounded panic rose in Hades' heart.
"Hmph, I have fully recovered. In a fight, it's not certain who would lose or win!" Hades purposely said this to find out if Tang Rao had left any traps inside his body.
"Sure, a fair and square fight, that would indeed be a match. But, I am a Spiritual Pharmacist. Do you really expect a Spiritual Pharmacist to fight you fair and square? Are you kidding me?" Tang Rao's face showed disdain. If I didn't use some underhanded tactics, I wouldn't be living up to the profession of a Spiritual Pharmacist.
Of course, I'm not saying that all Spiritual Pharmacists resort to underhanded tactics, but using them certainly fits our profession better.
Well, thinking about it, it seems to be the same thing.
"What exactly did you do to me!" Hades felt like he was about to be driven insane by Tang Rao.
