The one I cherish

"Hey John, we need to talk," Sam said over the phone, explaining what had happened between him and Rupert.

"Why do you want my help?" John replied.

"It's because I think you're a genius," Sam said.

"Cut it out, I'll come. So, you're saying that Rupert wants to be a businessman, but he asked Rose and Sarah to work for Julia?"

"Sam, why are you so dumb?" John said, frustrated.

"What are you talking about?" Sam asked.

"Isn't it obvious that Rupert is lying about something? Do you honestly think that Julia's father or mother would want Rose and Sarah to work for them when they already own a building that's attracting a lot of business? And it also seems like they've included cosmetics as well, and it's doing pretty well in sales. How do you know so much?" Sam asked, puzzled.

"Oh, well, I'm doing a degree in Master of Business Administration. It seems like I need to know more about these things. And honestly, I was in need of a partner, but things changed. To divert my focus, I started studying," John explained.

"What changed? Are you hiding something?" Sam asked.

"Aren't you the one hiding something and not revealing it yet?" John replied.

"What secret?" Sam asked.

"You never told me that you won Rose's heart and that you're a couple now," John said, teasing.

Sam was stunned. "Oh! I'm sorry. I've been wanting to tell you, but I thought it might hurt you. So how did you find out?"

"It was my mother. She told me," John revealed.

"Ah, now everything is clear," Sam said. "We should investigate Julia first. But then again, she won't tell the truth willingly. I suggest we ask Rupert for now. Let's go to Jule's Brand Shopping Mall. It's near my home, and we can reach there in no time."

"Ugh! Why there?" Sam asked.

"Just follow my lead," John replied.

They drove in John's car to Jule's Brand Shopping Mall.

"Now, we need to sneak into the CIO room," John said.

"What? Okay, what if we get caught?" Sam asked, uncertain.

"Follow my rules, and we won't get caught. Now, where's the CIO room?" John asked.

"Oh gosh, it's Rupert. Come on, hide!" Sam said, pulling John behind a dressing room. They nearly laughed, whispering, "This is getting weird. We should probably leave. If someone sees us, they'll think we're a couple."

John quickly covered Sam's mouth with his hand and gave him an intense look. "Look, it's Julia and Rupert together."

Julia said to Rupert, "Rupy, did Sam agree?"

"It didn't seem like he did, but I'm sure he'll try his best because, when it comes to his friends, he always helps. So, it's easy to fool him," Julia said.

"Good," said Rupert.

"Okay, then, I have to go now," Julia said, and Rupert pulled her close and kissed her, saying, "Anything for you, dear."

"I know, Rupy," Julia said softly.

Sam clenched his fists. "Why that bastard? He thinks he can fool me. What kind of friend is he? And he didn't break up with her? Unfaithful."

John sighed. "It's better not to trust him again. He might even ruin your reputation."

"Sam, listen to me carefully. Tell Rupert that I've talked to Rose and Sarah. They've accepted, and they invited Julia in person to apologize. They want to tell her how rude they were and offer to treat her to a meal at a restaurant. I tell you, you got it?"

"Got it," Sam replied, hanging up.

That evening, Sam told Rupert everything exactly as John had instructed.
