The One Beneath None!

Chapter 36: Chapter 36: Silvia's Revenge

Chapter 36: Silvia's revenge

In his office at the army barracks, Vlad the army commander was resting in his chair with his eyes closed. There hadn't been any wars in his country since even before he was born. So his position was quite a lax one most of the time. And it came with a lot of perks, like how he could defile almost any lady he fancies in the kingdom without any retribution. The king give him permission before hand after all.

"Hmm?". He suddenly felt like he was being looked at, and so he opened his eyes. His gaze was met by two little kids looking at him which startled him a bit.

"What?, did the king send you here or something?" Because the king disappeared from time to time when he goes to do his shady deeds, the commander had told his subordinates to not notify him unless it's been a few hours. So he hadn't yet learned of his disappearance.

And since he wasn't as intelligent as the king, he just assumed the kids were sent to him by the king. As for why he didn't sense them, "they were too weak for a Level 7 like him to sense". An idiot will find a way to justify anything and everything after all.

"And who's this kid, I've never seen him before...well whatever, what do you want, you're disturbing my work". Vlad impatiently asked.

"Well, this is the army commander?, he lacks even the littlest of discipline. Not to mention he doesn't seem very smart. Should I just take care of him or you want to say something?". Max asked Silvia.

"Let me say a few words". Silvia replied.

"Okay, go ahead". He replied with a smile, they had basically been ignoring Vlad all this time which has made his face long turn red in anger.

"Listen here you brats do you know who...." Vlad was about to scream at the kids before beating them up. He no longer cared that the girl was the king's reserved toy for the future. They dared to ignore him, the army commander after all. But as he spoke Max said "hush" and not only could he not move his mouth anymore, he couldn't move his body either.

Even if he was the dumbest person in the world, from what had happened to him and what they said, he could paste things together. The result of his pasting was.....shit and gotten real and he was screwed!. He started sweating uncontrollably like the king did before him.

"You as the army commander, you were supposed to be our spear that protected us from our enemies. But instead you pointed your sharp edge against us and did all those vile things to us and probably many more people. All because you felt that there would be no retribution, you thought that since you had the king as your backing, you would be safe. Well, I'm sorry to say that today, your retribution has come sir army commander.". Silvia said every single word so much conviction and emotion that Max felt like he was suddenly thrust into an emotional drama led by a female MC out for justice. After she finished speaking, she looked at Max with teary eyes.

"Can I kill him now?". He asked her. She nodded in response.

"Well I have a better idea, why don't you do it instead. Wouldn't it be a lot better if you got revenge for your mother with your own hands?". Max gave her a preposition.

"You're right, I should do it myself, but there's this bracelet on my hand that stops me from using mag...".

Crack!

Clang!

Silvia also wanted to do it herself. But the king had put on a weird bracelet on her hand that fed on her magic and said nobody can remove unless she herself gains enough power to rival a Level 9. Which was a contradiction since her mana was eaten up as soon as it entered her dantian. And so, without her magic, she could hardly injure the body of a Level 8 warrior like Vlad.

As she was trying to tell Max all this, he grabbed the bracelet and it broke, without even a resisting for a millisecond. And fell to the ground. Her dantian greedily started sucking in mana like a starved beast. Her Level went up from 2 to peak Level 6 in just ten minutes.

Muku had waited for her to be done. He assumed that she had initially been a Level 6 in the first place. But that was a wrong assumption since she was actually a Level 2. Her sudden increase in power was likely because of the bracelet. Vlad who knew this had his eyes wide open I'm shock, but still couldn't move. He also knew the origins of the bracelet after all. It had been bought of that mysterious fellow along with the soul destroying scroll.

"Now you should be able to do it that you have recovered right?". Muku asked her after she had stopped sucking in mana and has opened her eyes as her Level stabilised.

She looked at him and noticing how he wasn't moved at all by what had happened. Which made her realise that he had likely misunderstood the situation, but it wasn't the time to talk about it yet so she nodded and walked toward Vlad.

Vlad started sweating even more the closer she got to him. Before, as a Level two, she could barely injure him so he wasn't too worried, but a peak Level 6 could definitely and gravely injure an early stage Level 7 like him. And so he was scared out of his wits.

"Silver dagger". Silvia called out as a silver dagger materialised in her hand. She slashed down and Vlad's have was cut off. He couldn't scream or move so all his pain was shown in his eyes that turned red due to the pain.

She slashed down again and the other hand was cut. The more she slashed the more she remembered what he did to her mother. And so, with tears streaming down her cheeks, she slashed down again, cutting off his leg this time. Then the other. Vlad was now limbless. Even if she didn't kill him and left him like this, even if he survived, his life was over.

Max who looked on from the side couldn't help but promise himself to never cross this little lady.

"I want you to know that the pain that you're feeling right now, is nothing compared to the pain my mother felt, the pain my father felt and the pain I feel. Along with every other person you've hurt, you hurt more than their body, you hurt their souls as well. Now die!". As Silvia spoke, Vlad finally realised the graveness of his since and when she cut off his head to finish him off, a feeling of regret was frozen in his eye as they lost their radiance.

"Mom, Dad, I hope you can finally rest in peace now." Silvia said as she let go of the dagger and it disappeared. She looked at what she had done to Vlad and felt like vomiting right there and then. She felt disgusted by herself, by what she did.

"Why are you feeling like that when you have only gotten revenge for your parents? Instead shouldn't you raise your head up high for exacting vengeance and getting rid of such a vile character?. Why must you feel like that?, Just because he's human? How laughable. You and your family are also human and it didn't stop him from killing them did it?. Hell he was probably smiling throughout the ordeal and afterwards. So don't worst your emotions on this scum". Max said to her with a stoic expression.

Hearing his words, Silvia regained her wits and her emotions stabilised. Although she felt that he was being a bit too cold to human life, she knew that he did have a point. She hadn't killed him for no reason like he did her parents after all.

Crack!

A lightning bolt flew out from Max's hand and the body and its parts were erased.

"This should make you feel better right?". Max said looking at her. She looked back at him, not knowing how to react. He noticed the blood on her dress and held out his hand, before she could react, a silver bolt flew out and hit her.

She closed her eyes shaking in fear, she thought that he was going to kill her for not answering him. But after a few moments of not feeling pain, she opened her and noticed that her dress was pristine again, all the blood stains were gone. Seeing this she couldn't help but sigh in relief.

"What?, did you think I'd kill you just because you didn't answer my question?. Girl let me tell you this, the king was the first person I've ever killed and i don't kill people for no reason. I'm not a psycho". Max said to her rolling his eyes at her reaction.

She on the other hand was thinking about how he had so easily forgotten wanting to massacre the whole kingdom a while back. But not wanting to embarrass her saviour, she didn't say anything.

"Now lets go, I've done what you wanted. And my father is probably getting worried...that I'd destroy a kingdom or something like that.". Max held her hand as they spoke and they disappeared from the room.

What she didn't know was that when Max grabbed her hand he got a vision from the night she and her family were attacked. It played so quickly in his mind that his actions outside didn't lag. Through it he saw everyone who participated in the attack. This was a new ability for Max, but he was already out of the ordinary so he thought it was only natural to gain some random new skill.

And so as they left, a weird phenomenon took place in Crypt. Silver Lightning bolts were descending from a clear sky and randomly killing soldiers. 40 people died.

It would, for a little bit be known as "the heavens's judgement on secret sinners"

As for why it was only like that for a little while, something bigger happened soon after.

.....

In a random inn in Crypt, a black cloaked individual was sitting in a room holding a communication device that looked like a gold palm sized rectangle with carvings on it.

"Yes, it seems the king angered some hidden expert. He, the commander and a few others were killed off. Now would be a perfect time for an invasion...". The black cloaked figure spoke at the device on his pale white hand.
