The nine tailed god:A Naruto fanfiction

Chapter 25: Chapter 24:[Team Assignment]

The next day dawned bright and clear, the buzz of excitement filling the air as the Academy graduates gathered in the classroom.

Naruto and Hinata arrived together, their quiet confidence setting them apart from the usual hubbub. Gone was Naruto's need for loud declarations of his dreams; instead, his determination now burned in his steady gaze. Hinata walked beside him with a calm poise that caught more than a few surprised looks.

Iruka entered the room, clipboard in hand. "Good morning, everyone. Today marks the beginning of your journey as shinobi. You've all been assigned to teams based on your strengths, weaknesses, and compatibility." His eyes lingered on Naruto for a moment, his expression a mixture of pride and concern. "Remember, this is only the start. Your true growth begins now."

Naruto and Hinata exchanged a glance as Iruka began announcing the teams. One by one, their classmates were called. Kiba groaned at being placed with Shino and Sakura. Finally, Iruka reached the last group.

"Team Seven," he said, pausing for dramatic effect. "Naruto Uzumaki, Hinata Hyuga, and… Sasuke Uchiha."

Naruto raised an eyebrow, glancing toward Sasuke, who looked equally unimpressed. "Great," Sasuke muttered. "I'm stuck with the dead last and the girl who can't even—"

"Finish that sentence, and I'll show you just how wrong you are, Uchiha," Naruto interrupted, his voice sharp but controlled. The room fell silent, and for a moment, Sasuke's eyes widened in surprise. This wasn't the same brash Naruto he was used to.

Iruka cleared his throat. "Your jonin sensei will meet you shortly. Remember, teamwork is essential."

The door creaked open, and Kakashi Hatake strolled in three hours late, hands casually shoved in his pockets. Naruto, leaning back in his chair by the window, barely glanced at him, his expression calm and unreadable.

Beside him, Hinata sat with her back straight and her eyes steady, radiating quiet confidence. Sasuke leaned against the wall, arms crossed, his usual air of indifference unshaken.

"You're late," Naruto said, his voice even but carrying a sharp edge.

Kakashi scratched the back of his head, his visible eye curving into a lazy smile. "Ah, sorry about that. Got caught up on the way here."

Naruto tilted his head slightly, meeting Kakashi's gaze with an unimpressed stare. "Three hours late because you 'got caught up'? Right."

Hinata added, her tone composed, "For a jonin, that's… not a very good first impression, sensei."

Kakashi blinked, momentarily surprised by her calm but pointed remark. Then he chuckled. "Huh. You've got a sharp tongue hidden behind that politeness. I like it."

He leaned against the desk at the front of the classroom, his relaxed demeanor betraying nothing. "Well, now that we're all here, let's start with introductions. Tell me your likes, dislikes, and goals."

Naruto straightened in his chair, his voice steady and deliberate. "Naruto Uzumaki. I like ramen, training, and spending time with… the people who matter." He glanced briefly at Hinata before continuing. "I dislike people who look down on others or judge them without understanding. My goal is simple: to become strong enough to protect what's important to me."

Hinata stood next, her voice clear and unwavering. "I'm Hinata Hyuga. I like helping others and learning new ways to grow stronger. I dislike arrogance and cruelty. My dream is to stand tall and protect those who are precious to me—no matter what." Her gaze flicked to Naruto for just a second, her confidence radiating through her words.

Sasuke, uninterested, spoke next. "Sasuke Uchiha. Likes and dislikes don't matter. My goal is to become strong enough to achieve what only I can."

Kakashi studied them all, his expression thoughtful beneath the mask. "Ambitious. I like that. But ambition without teamwork is useless. Tomorrow, we'll have a test to see if you're really ready to be genin. Meet me at Training Ground Three at 5 a.m. And don't eat breakfast—you'll regret it if you do."

Naruto frowned slightly, his eyes narrowing. "A test? What kind of test?"

Kakashi's visible eye curved into a mysterious smile. "Oh, you'll see. Let's just say it has a high failure rate."

With that, Kakashi disappeared in a puff of smoke, leaving the three of them alone in the room.

Naruto leaned forward, resting his elbows on the desk. "That guy… he's not testing our strength. He's testing how we think."

Hinata nodded, her expression serious. "He's observing how we approach problems—and how we work together."

Sasuke raised an eyebrow. "Tch. Like I need anyone to pass."

Naruto turned to him, his gaze calm but firm. "If you want to pass, you'll need more than raw talent, Uchiha. This test is designed to make you fail if you think you can do it alone."

Hinata stepped in, her voice steady. "We're stronger together. We'll prove that tomorrow."

Sasuke stared at them for a moment before scoffing and heading for the door. "Do what you want. Just don't get in my way."

As the door closed behind Sasuke, Naruto turned to Hinata, a small smile breaking through his usual guarded expression. "You're right. We'll show him tomorrow."

Hinata met his gaze, her confidence unwavering. "I know we will, Naruto-kun. Together, we can handle anything."

Naruto nodded, his voice quieter but filled with determination. "Get some rest, Hinata. We've got this."

With their resolve set, the two left the classroom, ready to take on whatever Kakashi had in store. Their bond, built on trust and understanding, was their greatest strength—and it would carry them through whatever challenges lay ahead.
