NOVEL NEXT Chapter 93. Elf queen’s visitation
The elf queen and other elves followed Vulmon toward the market.
Once they arrive at the market area, everyone can see a road with buildings on both sides. On the building, there are signs written in the elf's language.
Vulmon pointed at random stores, "You can enter stores to purchase or sell things. Different stores only sold or bought certain categories of items. So, depending on the item you wish to sell, you need to visit different stores."
The investigation team nodded. Under Vulmon's guidance, they went to sell some general items and used the money they received to purchase other items.
After traveling around the market for an hour, Vulmon took his leave. "I apologize, but I still have other things I need to do."
Before leaving, Vulmon introduced a building, "That's the inn where you can spend some money to rest for a short time. It's usually used by the elves who prefer farming to stay when they visit the city. Simply ask the innkeeper for accommodations or food.
"If you wish to stay for a longer time, you can rent or buy a house, you can try that building." Vulmon pointed at another building that had a 'real estate agency' sign written above their door.
The elf queen smiled at Vulmon, "Thank you for your help."
Vulmon waved his hand, "Don't mind it."
The group saw Vulmon leave and continued traveling around until evening arrived. They passed the market area, the residential area, the crafting area, and other areas.
Occasionally, they stopped to purchase some snacks before continuing their investigation.
The interesting sight that they saw along the way caused some elves in the team to forget their initial goal and forget the time.
Soon, evening arrived. Seeing the dusky sky, everyone went to the inn that Vulmon introduced.
Upon entering, everyone is greeted by the half-filled inn's tavern. On one side, the innkeeper sat while holding a book made out of leaves.
Everyone walked towards the innkeeper and rented several rooms for the night.
The innkeeper held out his hand and gave them several keys made of wood, "Here is the key to your room. Don't forget to lock your door before sleeping. We don't want others to accidentally barge into your room."
The elf queens and the other elves from the investigation team took the key from that innkeeper.
"Your rooms are on the second floor and the third floor." The innkeeper added.
The investigation team didn't immediately take their leave. Instead, they looked at each other before the elf queen came forward to ask the innkeeper while raising the key she just obtained, "What is this?"
"Hmm? It's the key to your room." The innkeeper replied before he paused and asked another question. "Now that I think about it, I've never seen any of you around before. Are you guys new to the city?"
Some of the elves in the group nodded.
"Then, your stay this week is on me. You'll still need to pay for the food though." The innkeeper said with a chuckle.
"About keys, they are used to open and lock your door. Anyway, let me accompany you to your room." The innkeeper walked to the wooden stairs while the elf queen and other elves followed.
Once everyone arrived at the second floor, the innkeeper pointed at a room with 204 written on a small sign on the door. "That's one of your rooms. Please lend me the key with the number 204 written on it."
One of the elves gave his key and the innkeeper showed them how to use their key to lock and unlock the door before returning to the first floor.
After learning how to use the key, everyone entered their respective room.
A few minutes later, they gathered inside the room rented by the elf queen to discuss their experience in the city.
"There are so many weird and new things in this city." One of the elves commented.
"This currency system is pretty convenient. We should apply similar things in our city." An elf said while looking at the leaves used as money.
Another elf pointed at the bathroom inside the room "Furthermore, I've just asked the innkeeper about that place. It's called a bathroom and actually uses the hollow bamboo we saw previously to transfer clean water across the city and allow easy water access. Not only that, they also used the hollow bamboo and water to transfer dirty water and excrement into a place called the sewer."

Some elves who hadn't checked the bathroom followed their curiosity and checked it. Occasionally, gasps of surprise can be heard, which makes the elf queen feel a bit speechless.
After discussing their experiences, everyone finally talked about the tree.
The elf queen spoke first, "I guess we should try to meet that tree. From our initial investigation, that tree is more likely to be a special magical plant than a demon."
"I concur." The other elves soon followed suit.
"Alright. Then, we'll try to see the tree at the city's center tomorrow."
Soon, the night passed and morning arrived.
As planned, the elves went to visit Elisa first thing in the morning.
After bathing using the bathroom's warm water, the investigation team left the inn.
When they're close to the city's center where Elisa resides, they pass by the school building where many elves can be seen.
Although they're curious, everyone from the investigation team still follows their plan and meets with Elisa first.
Soon, they arrived at the administrative area that they hadn't visited yesterday.
Before long, an elf came and stopped them, "Hello, my name is Niel. I apologize, but in front is the place where elder Elisa resided. Did you get lost or wish to have a meeting with elder Elisa? If you wish to ask for a meeting, may I ask your name? I'll report it to the elder."
The elf queen came forward, "Hello. I am the current elf queen, Rielia. I indeed wish to have some chat with elder Elisa."
Niel looked shocked, "The elf queen? Please wait a moment, I'll immediately tell Elder Elisa of your visit."
Niel ran to Elisa before returning soon after. "Please follow me."
The elf queen and the other elves followed after Niel and soon met with Elisa.
Seeing the towering tree close by, all the elves feel awe.
Awkward silence soon ensued, before Elisa broke it first. "Hello there, I heard from Niel that the elf queen wanted to have a chat with me?"
Although they already knew that Elisa was a tree capable of talking. When they heard the voice that came from the gigantic tree in front of them, everyone in the investigation team still felt a bit surprised.
The elf queen is the first one to recover from her surprise "Greetings, my name is Rielia, the current elf queen. The others around me are the high-leveled elves from the other cities."
Elisa rustled her branches, "Ohh, so everyone here came from the other cities? I've heard of the cities but I rarely saw elves that came from those cities. Actually, I wanted to come and visit the other cities to see them myself. But as everyone can see, I am now a tree, so I can't do so."
Elisa excitedly continued, "Can you tell me about your cities, and what do you think of this city?"
The elf queen calmly narrated her city before praising Elisa's city.
After chit-chatting, the elf queen got to the point and asked a question she had been curious about. "I apologize, but may I ask what you mean when you say you're now a tree? Are you not a tree since you were born?"
" Well, it's not like I wanted to keep it a secret or anything. Anyway, yeah I am not always a tree. Before being a tree, I am just a normal sick person from another world. That's when the god of this world paid me a visit and asked me whether I wanted to enter his world to help the elves."
"Another world? God of this world?" Everyone feels dumbfounded upon hearing Elisa's bomb shell-like information.
"Yeah, a god. Well, at least that's what that guy proclaimed himself to be when he met me."
It seems Elisa got a bit excited while talking with a new person as she ranted, "That guy said he'll let me become an elf. But when I woke up after he did his magic, I found myself turning into a tree instead. I should've known that self-proclaimed god is unreliable."
While hearing Elisa's story, the elf queen recalled the elf that appeared together with the stone stele containing the training method.
Slightly shaking her head, the elf queen kept those thoughts away for now and continued chatting with Elisa.
Soon, the elf queen bid her farewell, "Thank you for spending your time to talk with me. I'll take my leave first."
"Don't mind it." Elisa moved her branches in a motion akin to waving a hand. "But, why are you leaving so quickly? Haven't you just stayed in the city for a day? How about staying in the city for a few more days? I'll be your guide this time. Although I can't leave with my tree body, I can sense everything within the city and control the plants to accompany you."
Feeling Elisa's enthusiasm, the elf queen thought for a moment and agreed with the proposal.
By the time the investigation team left the city center, it was already noon.
With the sun shining brightly above everyone's head, Elisa controlled a nearby plant and made it grow toward the elven queen before turning into the shape of letters.
"The sun is incredibly bright today. How about we visit some buildings first?" The elf queen read Elisa's suggestion and readily agreed.
With the elf queen's agreement, the plants turned into a new sentence, "Let's visit the school first. Then, I'll accompany you to tour the government building."
"What is school?" An elf from the investigation team asked.
"It's where we taught elves some knowledge. Anyway, it'll be faster for you to see it yourself." The plant turns into a new sentence before turning into another sentence accompanied by an arrow that points in a direction. "Follow this direction and you'll arrive at the school building soon after.
Everyone followed Elisa's guide and soon arrived at the school building they had passed by this morning.
Once everyone arrived, Elisa brought them to visit the only active classroom.
Because of the limited number of teaching staff, the classroom is divided by the year. But as the school program has just started less than a year ago, basically every elf who joined the school is staying inside this classroom.
So, Inside the classroom, there are close to a hundred elves sitting while observing another plant that Elisa controlled in front of the classroom.
Thanks to her increase in life level, Elisa has gained the ability to multitask. Although she can't control hundreds of plants at different locations, controlling less than ten plants isn't all that difficult.
The elf queen and other elves in the investigation team listened to the elves who recited multiplication tables while being slightly confused.
At last one of the elves asked, "What are they reciting?"
"They're reciting the multiplication table. It's one of the basics of mathematics." Elisa replied.
It can be seen that the elves are actually quite smart. Although the class they visited was only for those who had joined the school for less than a year, most elves already understood the multiplication table.
After observing the classroom and getting a copy of the multiplication table, the elf queen left the school.
After leaving the school, Elisa brought the investigation team around the government building until evening arrived before the elf queen and the others returned to their inn.
Elisa guided the investigation team around the city for two more days before the elf queen and other elves left the city.
