Chapter 90. Time Bomb Everywhere
When Cedric finished checking the humans, he moved his attention to the elves.
Dozens of years since its establishment, the three elven city has grown at incredible speed. On one hand, the surrounding villagers kept gathering in the city. On the other hand, the elf's reproduction rate somehow increased.
After Cedric's observation, the rise in elven birth rate should have something to do with the elf's culture and the population density inside a city.
Because of their long lifespan, elves usually have a much relaxed lifestyle compared to humans. This also made them somehow build a culture akin to freedom to love. As long as the elves haven't met anyone they fancy, they won't start reproducing. Instead, they'll patiently wait for someone suitable.
As for why it has something to do with the population density, it's actually extremely simple. With a higher population, there will be more choices. With more choices, it'll be easier to find someone suitable as a partner.
Although the elven population started to show signs of spiking upward, there are also several problems they need to handle.
First and foremost is the lack of food and other resources around the city.
When signs of insufficient resources began to appear, the elf queen ordered more elves to start farming. Even so, the problem isn't so easy to solve and has caused the elf queen to lose some sleep.
But before the problem of insufficient resources can explode and cause a serious problem, the effect of Elisa's arrival has begun to appear.
Some elves began to awaken nature blessing and obtained the power to control plant growth to a certain extent. With the help of those recently awakened nature elements blessed, the city elf's food consumption barely equalized the speed they generate food.
Except for the food resources problem, the elf is still troubled by demons.
Although many demons have been killed throughout the last few decades, more and more demons still appear. Those demons mainly targeted the elven village that hadn't evacuated into the city and lacked high leveled elven blessed. Luckily, no demons have reached Level 2 from slaughtering the elven villages.
With how almost all villages have joined the city, it won't be long before the elves can thoroughly cleanse the magic forest from traces of demons. Of course, it'll only happen if there isn't a sudden change like the fall of an elven city or the birth of a Level 2 demon.
"Let's not jinx it." Cedric shook his head when he thought of that.
Once he finished checking the elf's overall situation, Cedric checked the situation around Elisa and her mother.
After more than sixty years since she got reincarnated, Elisa's mother has grown to look like a fifteen years old girl.
After so long, she finally got permission to leave the city to travel far away.
With the location Cedric previously gave her as her destination, she is on her way to visit Elisa.
Now that her strength has reached Mid Level 0 after years of training. While traveling toward Elisa's location, Elisa's mother occasionally killed weaker demons that roamed the forest.
If this goes on, she might advance to Upper Level 0 or even Peak Level 0 when she arrives at her destination.
On the other hand, Elisa is currently busy activating her abilities to help the elves around her.
With the elves led by the male elf, Niel, as the first group. More and more elves from the surrounding villages gathered around Elisa, which she gladly accepted.
As more elves began to gather, some demons also started to attack the area. But Elisa who has already advanced to Upper Level 1 can still handle them.
Although some casualties are inevitable every time the demon attacks, at least the elves are no longer under the threat of annihilation.
Cedric nodded, "It seems the elf's situation has truly stabilized."
Now that he finished checking the elves and humans, Cedric moved his sight toward the dwarves.
This story has been taken without authorization. Report any sightings.
When he moved his mental power to observe the dwarves, the first thing that came into his view was a brutal fight.
After decades of battle against the dwarves, the ant queen has advanced to Upper Level 2 and is extremely close to Peak Level 2.
Along with her, some ants have reached Lower Level 2.
Luckily for the dwarves, the ant queen passed away a few years ago after exhausting her lifespan.
Before she died, the ant queen had left several especially massive ant eggs which became the new generation of queens that lead the ant colonies.
It's unknown what caused the change. But unlike the first generation ant queen that has become a demon king, or the second generation ant queen which Cedric kidnapped to the dwarves' territory. The third generation actually has several queens.
To be more specific, the second generation ant queen consisted of five queens. Although each of them is initially only at Peak Level 1, with the help of a few Lower Level 2 ant soldiers the previous queen left, they easily collected dwarves to kill and gather NE from.
With the help of those NE, the ant queens soon reached Lower Level 2.
Once all five queens reached Lower Level 2, Cedric saw the five queens fight against each other before a queen became their leader.
Now that there was a leader, the five queens entered an alliance and greatly expanded the size of their ant colonies. After all, with five queens, they can give birth to ants five times as fast as their predecessors.
Even though the strength of the ants born from the third generation queens is generally weaker than the one born from the first and second generation queens. But the sheer amount of ants they give birth to quickly make for it.
With five queens, the size of the ant colony has increased so greatly that they have now expanded to reach two other dwarven cities and a vast expanse of wilderness.
Their sudden expansion has caught the dwarves off guard and caused several tragic events to happen.
As a result of the giant ant colony's sudden expansion, one of the dwarven cities has almost fallen. Luckily, reinforcement arrived on time and blocked the tragedy from happening.
Although it's concerning that the ant queen has increased to five, and the colony has greatly expanded, the dwarves seem to be doing pretty okay against the increasingly intense ant attack.
Actually, now that Cedric has observed the dwarves more thoroughly. They aren't just doing okay, but are doing extremely great.
Except for their lack of high leveled combatant at Level 3, and the fact there are only two Lower Level 2 blessed. Their normal dwarves to blessed dwarves ratio is slightly better than the humans.
This is also thanks to the ant colony that's constantly expanding, and the dwarf's relatively slack monopoly regarding training methods.
Due to the pressure from the ant colony's invasion, the dwarves need to constantly fight back against them which leads to the dwarves often collecting Exp and easily leveling up.
After experiments and tests, the dwarves also concluded that killing demons will make someone reach a higher level more easily.
They even already found that killing a demon and collecting Exp can allow non blessed dwarves to become blessed.
Although they don't know exactly what Exp is, nor know that the requirement to become a blessed is to reach Mid Level 0. The knowledge that killing demons can turn someone into a blessed and increase a blessed's strength up to a certain point is enough for the dwarves.
After discussion among the council, the dwarves have created a mandatory service system. Every dwarves that has reached a certain age must join the service to be sent into one of the ant colony's entrances to kill some giant ants.
The mandatory service mainly existed to help non blessed to become a blessed earlier by making them team up with a veteran and collect some Exp.
Even if they fail to become blessed by the end of their mandatory service, the dwarves that have joined should also have some experience to fight the underground ants.
This will help the dwarves in case another expansion of the ant colony happens and giant ants invade more cities.
After he made sure the dwarf's situation was stable, Cedric stopped observing them.
Retrieving the mental energy he used to observe the Crystal Cube world, Cedric closed his eyes to contemplate the change in the world.
Cedric murmured, "The humans should be doing okay for the next few decades. Same case with the elves as long as no especially strong demons appeared. But even if they appear, I can let the elves herd it to Elisa's location. With her leveling speed, it shouldn't be long before she advances to Level 2. Once she advanced the elf's situation should've stabilized for a long time."
"Instead, it's the dwarves that concerned me. They might be in danger if the amount of ant queens were to increase or their strength reached Peak Level 2 collectively."
Luckily the dwarves have started using the ant nest as a leveling spot.
The humans actually already knew that killing demons can turn someone into a blessed or strengthen a blessed's strength up to certain level. But the demons in the human territory are spread around the land. They didn't have such a nice leveling spot as the dwarves.
There is also the fact that the temple tightly controlled most of the training methods.
Although it resulted in stability, it also limited the amount of blessed in the human race.
Of course, it's not exactly a bad thing for Cedric.
'If this goes on, my plan to balance the power between the three races might be reached earlier than expected.'
At last, Cedric sighed, 'I just hope nothing wrong will happen to the elves and dwarves.'
'I'll just observe for now and make a move when the time is right. At most, I'll need to send a Divine Item or more heroes to the world.'
Cedric stopped thinking about it and started busying himself to digest the knowledge he collected on Earth.
Although he has read those knowledge, he merely memorized it but still hasn't fully understood it.
"I believe once I thoroughly studied everything, my basic knowledge will become more solid."
NOTE: I greatly apologize. This chapter is slightly shorter because I've been especially busy with real-life matters while writing this chapter. It took me five days to write this single chapter.
