The Most Satisfied Reincarnate

Chapter 90: Relisting Material(2)

Desmond cast a lingering gaze at the moonlit meadow, its graceful sway accentuated by the falling leaves that danced through the air like ethereal messengers. The sight seemed to transport him to a heavenly realm, but his thoughts remained tethered to more earthly matters.

"Only 30k left to spare at the academy," Desmond ruminated, his mind clouded with concern. "Katrina's promise should ensure my safety, but it's a tenuous grip."

With each sip of wine, he savored the tantalizing taste that graced his palate. The fragmented grapes, intertwined with notes of sweet and sour flower nectar, formed a flavorful concoction that ignited youthful excitement within him, sending ripples of pleasure through his senses.

"Ah...life's peculiar twists and turns," he sighed, his voice tinged with a touch of wistfulness.

The wind outside embraced Desmond, its gentle caress playing with his chestnut locks, giving him an air of mystery akin to a grim reaper descending upon the mortal realm. His magenta eyes shimmered with a captivating allure, contrasting against the backdrop of his brown hair.

Lost in his daydreams, Desmond's reverie was abruptly shattered by a screeching sound that reverberated through the wooden walls, indicating an approaching presence. Moments later, a series of knocks resonated through the room, punctuating the air with a sense of urgency. knock knock knock

"Young master," a soft voice accompanied the persistent knocking.

Desmond, still leaning against the window with his eyes closed, responded, his tone carrying a hint of weariness, "Enter."

The door swung open, revealing a young maid adorned with a warm smile. Her cascading locks of fiery red hair seemed to possess a life of their own, cascading down her flawless face and framing a figure that exuded both grace and allure. Her eyes, a striking shade of yellow, held a mysterious glimmer, while her sharp nose and inviting red lips added to her irresistible charm.

Upon catching sight of Desmond, who remained in his relaxed stance by the window, the maid's heart skipped a beat. She stood there, captivated by the sight before her, momentarily forgetting the crucial message she was meant to deliver.

It was as if she had fallen into a whirlwind of infatuation, lost in a realm where childhood fantasies collided with mischievous thoughts and fantastical dreams.

Meanwhile, a slight furrow formed on Desmond's forehead as he kept his eyes shut. When he finally opened them, he found Laura, the maid, gazing at him, her eyes filled with a mixture of adoration and embarrassment.

"What troubles you, Laura?" he inquired, his voice laced with irritation.

Laura averted her gaze, her cheeks flushed with a hint of pink. "Right...yes," she stuttered, as if attempting to shake off the spell that had momentarily ensnared her.

"Speak clearly," Desmond commanded, his tone growing sharper. The visible veins pulsating on his forehead and his unyielding stare forced Laura to regain her composure. The weight of his annoyance snapped her back to the present, urging her to refocus on the matter at hand.

Laura's expression shifted to one of seriousness as she absorbed the weight in Desmond's voice. She raised her head, meeting his gaze with a newfound resolve.

"Young Master, your orders pertaining to the 'item' have been executed successfully," she reported, her grip on her maid attire tightening.

"En," Desmond responded with a low groan, leaving Laura to anticipate further instructions.

Lost in contemplation, Desmond weighed the options, debating whether to act now or postpone until the following day. His countenance flickered with a mix of doubt and introspection.

"Perhaps it's wiser to proceed tomorrow, which means I must verify the completeness of the ingredients," he contemplated within himself.

As his thoughts drifted, Desmond unwittingly continued to scan Laura's figure, causing a shiver to ripple through her. Sensing her discomfort, he uttered, "Very well, you may leave."

"Yes, young master," Laura replied, her expression tinged with disappointment. She muttered something under her breath as she departed.

At the stroke of midnight, as was his routine, Desmond waited for the household to slumber, the maids' breaths quieted, and the halls deserted. Activating his custom spell, he ventured into the dimly lit backyard.

Upon arrival, he beheld the elf slave he had acquired, lying motionless atop the carefully dug hole that safeguarded the remaining materials.

Desmond's form materialized once more, his presence only revealing a single hand. Utilizing his innate wizardry, he manipulated the soil, conjuring a hand-shaped formation from the earth to shift the elf slave aside. With precise control, he commanded the flames, causing the earth hand to dissipate.

"If only I still possessed both hands," he ruminated, a tinge of longing seeping into his thoughts. "I could simultaneously manipulate both elements, expediting the freezing and thawing of the ice within this earth."

Swoosh

The wind whistled through the night, fanning the flames Desmond expelled, transforming them into a roaring inferno that consumed the surrounding grass.

"Oh, shit..."

Reacting swiftly, he extinguished the blaze using an elemental control spell, employing sprays of water to douse the flames rather than exacerbating them.

Woosh

The result was a billow of smoke lingering in the air, an aftermath of the fire-suppressing endeavor. Fortunately, the late hour and the secluded recesses of Desmond's abode shielded the kingdom's inhabitants from being roused by the smoky haze.

Desmond surveyed his surroundings, relieved to find his slave unharmed and the contents of the pit intact.

"Sigh." He wiped the perspiration from his brow, his breath escaping in a relieved exhale. "That was a close call... but everything remains secure."

The list materialized before Desmond, displaying the inventory of gathered items:

100x Lizard Blood - Obtained

100x Snake Blood - Obtained

1x Elf Blood - Obtained

1x Demon Kid - Obtained

1x Beast Race Dragon Subtype - Not obtained

2x B Rank Gifted Potion - Not obtained

As he absorbed the information, Desmond felt a sense of satisfaction that the system had utilized its energy to scan the materials.

"Hmm... obtaining the remaining items may prove to be quite challenging," Desmond mused, conjuring a chair from the earth and resting his chin on his hand as he contemplated his next course of action.

Based on his knowledge, gathering numerous items from the beast territory was necessary to acquire the gifted potions, or they could be obtained directly from the academy.

"Well, if the potions can be acquired later," he pondered, "but what about the beast race subtype dragon? Can the system truly purify it solely with the blood of lizards and snakes?"

[System Conclusion: The probability of success stands at 90% using whole blood.]

The system promptly responded, providing an instant answer to his query.

"Understood. One more question. Is it acceptable if the gifted potions are not included?"

[System Conclusion: The consequence would be the host not attaining immediate status as a 1st Class Wizard, but rather can be considered a half 1st Class Wizard.]

"Pfft..."

Desmond couldn't help but burst into laughter at the system's response, as he had never come across any records in his studies mentioning the existence of a half 1st Class Wizard.

"Alright... alright, if the list is complete, then I shall proceed tomorrow night." Wiping away tears of amusement, Desmond rose from his chair and cast a glance at the slave by his side.
