Chapter 359: The Blood Experiment(2)
Meanwhile, Desmond found himself immersed in the situation at hand. The notifications flashed before his wide-open eyes, and after what felt like an eternity, he finally allowed himself to relax, sinking back into the worn wooden chair that served as his control element.
Simultaneously, the ambient energy gathered behind him, shaping itself into a rough-hewn wooden chair, offering him a seat. His gaze wandered across the surrounding cauldrons, evoking mixed emotions within him, until it settled upon Felix. The latter had been watching him all along, a smile adorning his face.
Desmond, still catching his breath, turned his eyes to Felix and asked, "How long has it been?" His eyebrows gradually furrowed, and the tension on his face gradually dissipated, revealing a wearied expression.
"It has been more than two hours, young master," replied Felix, his tone polite as he maintained his smile. Desmond could sense the sincerity behind Felix's gaze, dumbstruck as it fixed upon him.
"I see. I apologize for taking up so much of your time. I didn't anticipate it would require such a lengthy process. I will call upon you again when the time is right."
"N-no, young master, you are not wasting my time. I genuinely enjoy witnessing your experiments and I sincerely hope for their success!" Felix's words prompted only a nod of acknowledgement and gratitude from Desmond.
"Very well then, please excuse me, young master." After observing his young master's response, Felix understood the significance of the moment. He offered a humble bow before leaving the room.
As Desmond watched Felix depart, he couldn't help but notice a faint indentation on the chair where Felix had been seated—a subtle mark of the hours that had elapsed.
"Looks like he's being dishonest. There's no way my physique, having reached the peak of the swordsman class, would tire so easily from this experiment," Desmond chuckled and shook his head. However, he still felt the soreness and stiffness in his body, a reminder of the strain he had endured.
In the next moment, the ethereal floating screen remained fixed in his view, displaying the results of the simulation test.
[Simulation Test Results]
Test #01
Materials: The entire pure blood of the Flying Lizard Beast, combined with pure human blood from the Host's past data.
Method: Direct consumption of the entire blood volume through the mouth.
Result: The blood from the Flying Lizard dominates the virtual body of the Host, leading to the consumption and degradation of internal organs. A peculiar-looking worm emerges after devouring the corpses.
Conclusion: Compatibility less than 0.001%. A normal human without any class cannot withstand the blood of the Flying Lizard.

Test #02
Materials: The entire pure blood of the Flying Lizard Beast, combined with pure human blood from the Host's past data, with adjusted power equivalent to that of a 1st class swordsman.
Method: Incremental consumption of the blood, taken bit by bit.
Result: Unlike the previous case, the blood did not fully dominate the entire body. Instead, it only took over half of the Host's virtual body. However, within a few days, the entire body rotted away, resulting in unavoidable death.
Conclusion: Compatibility less than 10%. Even the body of a 1st class swordsman, while superior to a normal human, proved insufficient against the blood of the Flying Lizard.

As Desmond continued to scrutinize the results, his eyebrows gradually arched, and creases formed on his forehead. With narrowed eyes, he observed the deteriorating outcomes, his frustration growing.
He massaged his forehead, attempting to alleviate the stress weighing upon his mind. Yet, as he looked at the results, a sense of exasperation swept over him. "Is it truly impossible for a human to withstand the blood of the beast races?"
Unlike other humans, he possessed a system that provided resistance against side effects and a certain level of immunity gained from the purification of various animals and races.
The more Desmond examined the test numbers, the darker his expression became. But suddenly, as a long list of tests passed by, a glimmer of intrigue flashed in his eyes, and his gaze fixated on the last test result.
[Name: Test #099
Materials: Half pure blood of the Flying Lizard Beast, combined with pure human blood from the Host's past data, with adjusted power equivalent to that of a 1st class swordsman.
Method: Injection into the skin in small doses.
Result: No abnormal effects observed initially; however, a few hours later, the Host's virtual body experienced excruciating pain and temporary malfunctioning of the brain and bodily functions.
Conclusion: Compatibility 70%. After enduring the side effects, the system detected a merging of a portion of the Flying Lizard's skills, stats, and weaknesses with the host's virtual body.]
"Ohhh, that's it," Desmond exclaimed in surprise. A slow grin formed on his lips as he fixed his gaze upon the cauldron filled with a shimmering puddle of Flying Lizard blood. "However, I can't simply ask Felix to consume the blood directly."
Desmond crossed his arms, his face contorted in a frown as he contemplated the faint screen displaying the test results. He felt torn about using the blood.
"The experiment only requires half of the blood. Although it's easy to kill a Flying Lizard, there's no guarantee that the system can replicate the same purity after the purification process," he mused.
After deep thought, Desmond's eyes remained fixed on the Flying Lizard blood, emitting a faint red glow with tiny silhouettes of flying lizards within it.
Suddenly, an idea flashed across his mind. "What if I attempt to inject the blood into my own body? After all, I possess defensive mechanisms from both the system and my dragon bloodline," Desmond reasoned.
Though it seemed crazy, it was better than wasting the blood on random animals that would eventually be sacrificed for the experiment. As for his subordinates, he wasn't cruel enough to use them as test subjects. It would be a waste of both blood and lives if the experiment failed.
"System, initiate an experiment. Inject the Flying Lizard blood into my current body as the model," Desmond commanded. However, he wasn't foolish enough to test this idea on his real body right away.

[Task Complete!]
Desmond was taken aback by the swiftness of the process. He had expected it to take much longer. As the notifications appeared before his eyes, his bored expression transformed into shock. Simultaneously, a faint screen displayed the outcome.
[Name: Test #01
Materials: Half pure blood of the Flying Lizard Beast, Host's current data.
Method: Injection into the skin in small doses and direct consumption of a large portion of the blood.
Result: No abnormal effects or side effects observed.
Conclusion: Compatibility 100%. The host's dragon bloodline negated the ancestral power and influence. The system detected a significant merging of Flying Lizard stats into the host's body.]
However, instead of becoming excited and eager to proceed, Desmond felt a sense of unease wash over him as he read the results. It all felt too familiar, as if he had done something like this in the past.
After pondering for a moment, he finally realized. The initial excitement faded, and he sighed, "Why? Why am I getting so excited? This process is no different from when I absorb energy from a beast!"
Among the information on the system screen, only the words "negated the ancestral power" piqued his curiosity.
