Chapter 323: Time to Rebel Against Humanity
Jessy's voice reverberated through the vast hall, reaching the ears of those students who hadn't passed the test. "For those of you who didn't make the cut, fear not, for you shall have another opportunity next year. But for now, please leave this hall," her words echoed, and a sense of gloom engulfed the students who wore expressions of defeat.
Some couldn't hold back their tears as they hastily made their way out.
Jessy, unwavering, observed their plight. She knew that sending them off now was a better alternative to them meeting a futile fate on the battlefield. She didn't flinch, understanding the gravity of the situation.
Out of the original 500 students, only 450 had made the cut, or more precisely, their names were among the chosen few on the acceptance list. However, Jessy had a sobering reminder for those who had passed. "Do not celebrate prematurely, for your acceptance is not yet official," she cautioned, surprising the students.
Their voices rose in protest but were swiftly silenced by the imposing figures clad in white robes.
As Jessy uttered those words, the students realized that only the top 10 among them would receive the coveted bracelets. Envy filled their gazes as they glanced toward the fortunate few. However, their tongues were held in check, aware that most of these top achievers came from influential backgrounds.
Yet, Gregory, a black-haired girl, and the blue-haired boy were subject to mockery because they lacked the social status to defend themselves. The derisive comments flew freely until Jessy's anger flared at the sight of the black-haired girl being targeted. She unleashed her pressure upon those students, her glare piercing through them as she emitted a disdainful snort.
Gradually, the commotion subsided, allowing Jessy to regain her composure. She took a deep breath and continued, "Only the top 10 will be immediately accepted, and I will assign them to a class. But before we proceed..." Her voice trailed off as she mumbled something under her breath.
A small stone materialized from the wooden floor, drawing the attention of the students. It seemed strangely familiar—an identification stone commonly found in churches, glowing with the light emitted from a magical crystal held by someone standing beside Jessy.
"Now, all of you who made it to the top 10 must review your traits," Jessy commanded, her gaze fixed on Desmond. However, she quickly halted him and gestured for someone else to step forward, blocking Desmond's view of their status. Sensing something awry, Desmond took a step back, straining to catch a glimpse of the person's information.
Minutes ticked by, and finally, it was Desmond's turn. He approached the identification stone, a sense of bewilderment clouding his thoughts. With a mixture of confusion and curiosity, he placed his right hand on the stone's surface.
Unbeknownst to Desmond, a sly smirk played on Jessy's lips, mirrored by the anticipation radiating from the students who eagerly awaited his revelation.

"Huh?" The displayed information left the onlookers perplexed. Why were the class, race, and energy capacity missing? Desmond himself stood dumbfounded, his gaze fixated on the system notifications that abruptly appeared before him, obstructing his view.
[Detected an energy attempting to scan the host's physical strength!]
[Detected an energy attempting to scan the host's energy levels!]
[Detected an energy attempting to extract the host's blood!]
[Initiating extermination of these anomalous energies...]
[Anomalous energies successfully eradicated!]
As the system notifications flashed across his consciousness, Desmond's eyes widened in disbelief. He shifted his attention back to the identification stone, which continued to hover above it, waiting to reveal his true stats.
Desmond's gaze hardened, his eyes turning cold as he sensed the students around him taking several steps back. The white-robed figures closed in, encircling him with multiple magic circles floating above them, each containing spells aimed at his body.

Meanwhile, Jessy regarded him with a furrowed brow, her pristine white robes billowing gently as an aura of second-class witch pressure emanated from her. "I must admit, I am surprised, young man. For a moment, I thought you were human, and considering your previous achievements, I thought we might have found a formidable ally against the demons.
However, upon closer examination, it doesn't make sense for someone of your age to have accomplished such feats."
Jessy's suspicion grew as Desmond remained silent, his gaze fixed on the identification stone that the system had scanned. One line caught his attention.
[Name: Identification Stone (Modified)
Grade: Rare
Information: Unlike the standard version, this identification stone can scan a person's energy and automatically draw their blood to determine their race.]
Upon reading this information, Desmond's realization dawned on him. Simultaneously, he noticed a gate materializing behind Jessy. Weston and other staff members from the academy arrived, their expressions brimming with hostility.
One of the staff members handed Jessy a peculiar board. "You may be wondering if the identification stone is malfunctioning. To be honest, you are the first and only person to receive those stats."
"And you think we didn't verify the stone?" Jessy added, pointing her slender finger towards a person who appeared to be inspecting and examining the stone with a frown.
While Desmond was focused on the people surrounding him, this individual had just arrived and immediately began checking the stone.
"There is no issue with the identification stone, Teacher Jessy," the person replied, placing their hand on the stone. A hovering screen displayed their complete information.
"Desmond, son of Master Witch Leona and the Genius Dual Class Bastian," Jessy announced his name with a solemn expression, prompting a commotion to erupt behind him. Several soldiers emerged, their weapons aimed at Desmond, while the white-robed figures stepped back, spells still pointed at him.
"Suspected of massacring the entire tavern, killing demons in the slums, and bearing responsibility for the recent incident where many innocent civilians were frozen alive," Jessy paused, her eyes turning into crimson orbs of fury as she recited the litany of crimes.
Simultaneously, the city lord and his wife appeared behind her, their gazes brimming with lethal intent as if they were ready to strike him down on the spot.
"Lastly, you are accused of killing Karina, a member of the Steel Legion mercenaries," Jessy's voice turned cold as she delivered the final accusation. Veronica and the other members of her group emerged behind her, shock evident on their faces as they learned the truth.
"Tell me, are you a human or some kind of beast? What is your true race, kid?" Weston added, his words dripping with disgust as he looked down upon Desmond.
Desmond's expression darkened further as he surveyed the dire situation unfolding before him. The only concern that weighed heavily on his mind was the safety of his sister. He attempted to calm his racing thoughts, but worry for his family crept in, making it impossible to find solace.
"I'm in deep trouble," Desmond muttered under his breath. Seeing Weston, accompanied by a horde of mages and soldiers, closing in on him, he knew that a peaceful resolution was out of reach.
"What has become of my mother and father? Have they also been captured?" Desmond's mind spun with the chaotic mess surrounding him. The uncertainty gnawed at his insides.
Desperate for a lifeline, Desmond attempted to send magical messages to Felix and the others, focusing his energy to form a strand of communication that extended from his body. However, before the message could take shape, it abruptly vanished into thin air.
"Expert Spell: Bind!" Weston's voice rang out, and in an instant, Desmond felt a powerful magical force take hold of him. His movements were restricted, his body locked in place by an unseen power.
