The Most Satisfied Reincarnate

Chapter 285: Time to Reap All of These Benefits(1)

"Young master," Felix cautiously approached, his gaze fixed on the middle-aged man who had entered their midst. The system not only scanned the man's stats but also miraculously uncovered his name.

Felix's appearance was a grim sight to behold, his once pristine skin now tainted by dark discoloration, a testament to the chains that had mercilessly inflicted wounds upon him. Blood dripped from his battered body, a macabre testimony to the fierce battle he had endured. His face, worn and weathered, bore witness to his experiences, revealing the determination that fueled his trained physique.

And yet, despite the disbelief that coursed through him, Felix couldn't deny the truth before his eyes—the nefarious adversary he had fought tooth and nail against had met his demise so easily at the hands of his young master. The lifeless body of his most despised enemy lay motionless on the ground, eyes wide open, lips curved into an unsettling smile that lent an eerie quality to the corpse.

There was no trace of pity or anger in Felix's expression, as if those emotions had been purged from his being along with his enemy.

"It's done. Carry the body and bring her home," Desmond calmly instructed, observing Felix's dazed state.

Though a twinge of surprise and disbelief lingered in his heart, Desmond's relief soon outweighed those emotions. He knew there were still numerous challenges awaiting him, but with one problem resolved, he could now focus on fortifying his own power.

With a sense of purpose, Desmond awaited his maids, and gradually, the once-darkened world transformed back to its normal state, revealing a lavish tavern strewn with lifeless bodies.

"Yes, young master!" Felix exclaimed, his eyes brimming with admiration for his young master. When word of their triumph reached the ears of the other subordinates, tears of joy would surely flow freely.

All of Felix's past troubles had been vanquished by his young master. In his twilight years, with no lofty aspirations left, all he desired was to live a comfortable life with his daughter. Serving his young master's family had proven to be a wise decision.

As Desmond settled into one of the chairs in the tavern, a lingering unease gnawed at him, as if something was amiss. He glanced back at the lifeless body of the middle-aged man and scanned him once more, finding no signs of remaining energy or stamina.

What is this? The feeling not only persisted but grew stronger, enveloping his heart, intensifying as his maids approached.

"Young master, congratulations!" Laura, holding the fiery chains that bound the silver-haired girl, exclaimed with excitement.

The chains had already seared through the girl's clothes, exposing her slender, well-toned abdomen and the graceful curve of her pale neck. Some burns had even singed her underclothes, revealing glimpses of light pink nipples.

Meanwhile, Annie maintained a vigilant stance, guarding the unconscious silver-haired girl. After offering a salute to Desmond, she positioned herself just behind the silver-haired girl.

*swoosh*

In an instant, a colossal magic circle materialized behind the motionless silver-haired girl, capturing the attention of everyone present. The mystical emblem spun with mesmerizing intensity, emitting a powerful gust that sent those within a three-meter radius staggering backward.

As Annie reached out to grasp one of the girl's hands, the surrounding natural energy transformed, opening a portal to another sinister dimension. From the abyss emerged numerous small, dark hands, which snaked their way toward the silver-haired girl's body, slowly pulling her into their clutches.

Simultaneously, an array of radiant swords materialized above the magic circle, piercing through the dark appendages, only to be ensnared and drawn into the void themselves.

Desmond pressed on, moving resolutely toward the swirling abyss. With firm determination, he clasped one of the silver-haired girl's delicate hands, while his other hand tightly gripped Felix's. The suction force grew stronger, greedily drawing in all the lifeless bodies, including the middle-aged man's corpse.

Witnessing this grotesque sight, Desmond's heart clenched, a silent cry echoing within him as he poured every ounce of his power into his grip.

"Fuck! Those are my energies!" Desmond's thoughts raged. Unaware of the consequences, his power surged through his hand, leaving a vivid crimson imprint upon the girl's pale skin.

The unconscious silver-haired girl contorted in pain, her lower body already submerged within the otherworldly dimension.

"Felix!" Desmond's voice reverberated through the chamber, and Felix nodded, understanding his master's intent. Swiftly, he switched places with Desmond, clutching the girl's hand tightly, causing her to bleed.

Laura, her face flushed with exertion, strained against the weight of her power. She strained to retract the fiery chains that had entwined the silver-haired girl. Finally, with her boots firmly planted on the floor, aided by her control over magic, she managed to anchor herself to a white stone pillar in the tavern.

Annie, not far from Laura, extended her arm to pull the silver-haired girl closer. Her free hand grasped another white stone pillar for support.

Finally released from his grip, Desmond's gaze darted toward the magic circle and its surroundings. The once-crowded tavern, strewn with corpses, now lay empty, save for the lingering traces of blood.

Simultaneously, reinforcements in the form of city soldiers arrived, making their way towards Desmond's location.

Desmond's thoughts raced as he sought an update on his status.

"That's enough..." Desmond murmured, his gaze flickering between his remaining energy and stamina. Nodding to himself, he then turned his attention to his subordinates. "Cease all actions," he commanded, his voice carrying an air of authority, and took a deep breath.

Upon his command, Felix relinquished his grip, causing him to stumble backward, colliding with one of the white stone pillars. Meanwhile, Laura let the chains fly free, dropping to her knees as her exhausted body met the ground.

Annie, with a casual demeanor, plucked a strand of her hair before releasing her hold on the silver-haired girl. She positioned herself beside them, her presence subdued yet attentive, awaiting further instructions from her young master.

"Guard me against the approaching soldiers, and find garments to conceal your faces," Desmond solemnly ordered. Without waiting for their response, he settled into a cross-legged position on the floor, extending his arms.

Elemental Control: Darkness.

A swirl of pristine white energy gathered within his palms, slowly morphing into a deep shade of black. Felix's eyes widened in astonishment, stealing a glance at the maids, who observed the scene with an air of nonchalance.

Felix understood the arduous nature of controlling the element of darkness, a feat only accomplished by a skilled 2nd wizard or witch, capable of harnessing their imagination to manipulate the very essence of darkness.

As he ruminated on the silver-haired girl, he realized she possessed control over the element of light. The two of them stood apart from the ordinary younger generation, their abilities beyond comprehension.

Overwhelmed by the continuous barrage of unbelievable events, Felix felt a numbness settle over him. It was only when his senses returned that he sprang into action, promptly carrying out his master's orders.

"Yes, young master!" they responded in unison, swiftly ascending the stairs to search for spare garments on the second floor.

Meanwhile, Desmond's control over darkness intensified, causing the inky blackness to surge upward, shrouding the entire structure of the tavern. The once-imposing ice barrier that obstructed the road had long since melted away, making room for the spreading darkness.

Consulting his map, Desmond focused his energy, gradually expanding the reach of the enveloping darkness toward the locations of their adversaries within the tavern.

A wistful smile formed on Desmond's lips as he contemplated the situation. "If only I had more time," he mused. Despite the limited moments at his disposal, he channeled his inner power, causing darkness to surge forth, engulfing the entire Market District in its ominous embrace.
