Chapter 27: Chasing the Innkeeper
In Ranton's Office
"What are you crazy? What if someone sees it?" Ranton was looking at Heinald, who stood calmly in front of him.He had a distorted expression on his face.
He was going to kidnap and interrogate the innkeeper, so he asked him to find a safe and vacant place.
"Don't worry, it's okay, Ainsars don't like to interfere in each other's internal affairs." Heinald shrugged.
"That innkeeper is also a Level 1 Ainsar, how can you be so sure you can defeat him? If you think to use a spell on the streets of the city ..." Ranton was interrupted by Heinald before he finished.
"Of course I will not use spells. I am not so stupid, I don't want to gather the guards over me."
Heinald pulled a small bottle from the pocket of his robe, with a yellow liquid in it.
"What is this?" Ranton asked.
"This is Hellnisk Serpent's venom. It has the ability to paralyze for a short time, but I will add a few ingredients to this poison to prolong its effect." Heinald smiled at the bottle in his hand.
"Let's say you succeeded and you managed to paralyze him for a short time. What are you planning to do when the paralysis wears off?"
"I think I can take care of that innkeeper, just find me a decent place." Heinald stood up, he had to go home and prepare the paralyzing mixture.
"Alright! But I won't be in any other part of this plan." Ranton exhaled loudly.
After saying goodbye to Ranton, Heinald jumped on his horse and began to ride his horse straight to his home. After increasing the effect of the paralyzing poison with various toxic herbs, he waited for the night and went alone again to observe the innkeeper. But this time he did not enter and waited for him to exit the tavern. The innkeeper left the tavern a few hours after midnight and was replaced by another person.
He was very curious where this innkeeper was going,so he would spare this night to follow him. Thanks to his eyes, he could follow the innkeeper from a distance even in the dark, so his aura would not be felt by the innkeeper.
"Finally!" Heinald saw the innkeeper leave the tavern after waiting a long time. The innkeeper had begun walking through the dark streets of the city, not riding a horse. He followed the innkeeper from a safe distance. The innkeeper entered a temple after about half an hour traveling through the streets of the city.
"Temple?" Heinald frowned, and he waited for several hours for the innkeeper to leave the temple, but the innkeeper did not.
"If I can gather some information about this temple, maybe I can get a useful clue." He thought, it was almost morning, so before sunrise he dived into the dark streets of the city and started walking towards his house.
When Heinald returned home, he began to study Spirit Binding Formation, but his work was interrupted by a knock on his door.
When he opened the door, he saw Ranton in front of him.
"Welcome! Come in." He made a hand gesture for him to come in.
"I found an empty house as you wanted. I'll take you there." Ranton shook his head.
"Oh? So quickly?" Heinald was surprised that it got done so quickly.
"I have some good connections." Ranton laughed softly.
"Good job!" Heinald smiled slightly and left his house and locked his door.
"But remember, you shouldn't damage the house. It belongs to a friend of mine whom I trust." Ranton warned.
"Do not worry." Heinald nodded.
Ranton took Heinald to the house where he found it, which was a small and unobtrusive house on the north side of town.It was located in the middle of a wooded area.
"By the way, I followed the innkeeper last night. At night he left the tavern and went to a temple." Heinald had a straight expression.
"What temple?" Ranton asked.
Heinald did not know the name of the temple, so he described it.
"Ah! That must be the Eunor Temple." Ranton nodded. "What could he be doing there? Religionist or something?"
"I do not know." Heinald shrugged.
"I don't know much about it, but I can do research." Ranton scratched his chin.
After thanking Ranton, Heinald left and went to his house and waited for it to be night time.
Hours passed quickly, and night time came.
In the back street of the tavern, Heinald, mingled in darkness, waited for the innkeeper to leave the tavern. The innkeeper came out of the tavern quite hastily and got on his horse, and he seemed to have a very urgent job.
He immediately got on his horse and began following the innkeeper from a safe distance. The innkeeper had turned to the Northern Gates of the city and left the city. He didn't know where the innkeeper was going, but he could have been more comfortable outside of the city. When they got far from the gates of the city it was time to attack!
Heinald stepped up his horse and began to close the distance from the innkeeper, and they were advancing over a flat plain. When he looked back, he saw a man who had covered his face with a black mask approaching him with his horse.
He understood that this man was going to attack him!
The innkeeper formed a fireball and sent it towards him.
"Basic Fireball" When he saw that the innkeeper casting a fireball, he immediately made a counter attack.
As the fireballs collided in the air, a violent explosion of fire broke out and flames spread around.
The innkeeper stopped his horse and dismounted, looking directly at the man approaching him.
"Who the hell are you? What do you want from me?" The innkeeper shouted loudly.
"I just want some information." Heinald stopped about twenty meters from the innkeeper and dismounted.
"What information?" The Innkeeper frowned.
"About Bloody Teeth!" Heinald shouted.
The innkeeper had a great surprise on his face for seconds, but he immediately got him under control. It was obvious that he wanted not to show his surprise, there was no doubt that this guy was definitely connected with Bloody Teeth.
"I don't know anything about them. Now,get lost now or this will be your grave!" A cold look appeared in the innkeeper's eyes.
"How scary! Unfortunately threats don't save you!" Heinald shook his head. Obviously he was not afraid of this innkeeper. Thanks to Moon Thief's Eyes and the spells he knew, his strength was much higher than the ordinary Level 1 Ainsar. Of course, he did not have any knowledge of his opponent's combat strength, he did not know exactly how advantageous he was against him. But he didn't think he was going to lose to him.
"I have no time to waste with you! Die!" The innkeeper shouted, and five red arrows of energy appeared around his body. They all started flying towards Heinald one after the other.
"Wind of Aira!" The air wave from Heinald's hand prevented red energy arrows from hitting him.
At that moment the innkeeper's hands were beginning to freeze, and as he pointed his hands at Heinald, icy arrows burst out.
A fireball flew out of Heinald's hand and collided with the ice arrows coming towards him, but at that moment something unexpected happened.
The fireball had failed to melt the ice arrows!
Fortunately, Heinald had noticed this early and dodged the ice arrows in a tumble to the right, when the ice arrows hit the ground, they frozen an area of about 10 meters.
"Damn it! Taste my Spiritual Magic!" The innkeeper shouted in anger.
Heinald begun to watch the innkeeper attentively.
Within seconds, waves of heat were radiating from his body. Then, flames began to radiate from his body, the flames gathered behind the innkeeper to form a dragon figure about 15 meters in length.
"Whisper of the Wind!" Heinald's body began to be covered with winds. The flaming dragon, formed by the innkeeper, spewed a wave of fire at Heinald .
He jumped to the side at once and dodged the attack, gliding quickly, then leaped toward the innkeeper and glided toward him.
The speed had caught the innkeeper off guard.
While he was gliding, he also started casting his spell called Frost Wave. When he got close to the innkeeper, a freezing wave came out of his body, freezing everything around. The innkeeper's spell dragon resisted the cold for a few seconds but then disappeared.
The innkeeper was so closely exposed to Frost Wave's influence, so he immediately froze. In fact, he didn't even need to use magic to finish his job, he could have done it even with a sword, but his purpose was not to kill him.
At least not yet.
He immediately pulled a small knife and the paralyzing mixture he had prepared from the pocket of his robe, poured a small amount of the paralyzing mixture on the tip of the knife and made a small cut on the arm of the innkeeper. Then he took the innkeeper on his shoulder and placed him on the back of Shadow.
He had to find a secluded place off the road. After riding for a while, he found an area full of huge rocks.
