The Moon Thief

Chapter 124: Collapse

When Heinald looked ahead, he saw many Magical Beasts running backwards. They were frightened by the fierce energy emanating from the fireball.

"Sage is sacred!" One of the dwarves cried out.

"Pray to Sage for saving us now!"

Heinald ignored the dwarves' shouts and started chasing after these Magical Beasts. In a short time he had already emerged from the borders of the swamp and entered the borders of Bleak Hollow.

"The creatures that cross into the World of Ainsar also come from this region. Maybe with my research here, I can figure out how the portal was activated." Heinald muttered as he observed his surroundings.

The Bleak Hollow area was a very rugged terrain. Even though he was far from there, he could see a large hollow ahead. The reason for this was that the hollow was very large. It was about 500 meters in diameter.

The escaped Magical Beasts were running towards it. It was probably the lair of creatures and monsters.

Heinald had no intention of entering it, but wanted to explore the white area. He began to circle around the hollow. After hours of observation, he found nothing.

"I guess I better close this hole. So the poor dwarves won't run into any more problems!" After thinking for a while, Heinald decided.

"Lightning Spear!"

Fierce lightning bolts formed on his hand, and they came together to form a spear.

Lightning Spear sprang up quickly, and when it exploded, it destroyed part of the wide hollow.

Heinald repeated this five times in a row, causing the entrance to the hollow to be completely destroyed.

"It didn't turn out exactly the way I thought it would...Even though this hollow is superficially destroyed, those Magical Beasts will find a way out."

A cold gleam passed through Heinald's eyes as he observed the hollow.

At that moment, he felt a slight jolt underground. At first he didn't care at all because this jolt was so small. But as it started to increase, he realized that something was going to happen, and he cautiously walked away from where the tremor was strong.

"Roarr!" With an all-encompassing roar, a beast of a kind Heinald had never seen before sprang up from the underworld.

With its appearance, all the soil that Heinald had filled in by demolishing the entrance to the hollow had flown several meters up.

"What the hell is this damn thing!?" Heinald muttered.

This beast that came out of the ground had four claws. His lower body was quite similar to the body of a bull. But it was much larger than a bull and had huge claws protruding from its sides. His head was like a crooked lump and had only one eye and an antenna on the top of his head.

Heinald realized that this beast's energy was suppressing his own. This beast possessed the might of a mid-phase Level 2 Ainsar.

"He doesn't seem to have weak part anywhere on itsbody. Most likely, my attacks with my swords won't do him any harm." Heinald made some inferences while observing the beast's body.

There was a blast of wind as the beast closed its two front claws at the same time, and the resulting strong gusts of wind began to head towards Heinald.

He immediately cast his spell named Whisper of the Wind and jumped to the right and quickly glided through the air.

"Indignation of Ice!" Heinald shouted out in his mind.

An intense coldness and ice fumes began to emerge from his arms. As he pointed his hand forward, an ice hand began to move towards the beast rather quickly.

"Roarr!" The Beast roared and used his two front claws to grab the ice hand. However, as soon as the ice touched the hand, his entire body was covered in a thick layer of ice within seconds.

"It has really strong physical stamina and strength ... His body completely froze, but still, some parts of the ice started to form cracks from his struggle." Heinald was quite surprised when cracks began to appear in the ice layer surrounding its body.

This happened much faster than he expected!

The spell he used was High Rank. If Heinald hadn't had the impeccable memory he acquired when he had the Moon Thief's eyes, it might not even have been possible for him to cast such spells. If he did, it would most likely take more than ten seconds.

The fact that a High Rank spell could not affect this beast very much would show that it was very strong.

Heinald had no intention of giving him a chance!

Divine Chaos!

An energy field surrounded the giant beast, and above this energy field, fierce lightning bolts began to coil like a snake. With the fierce Lightning Elemental Energy spreading around, the lightning streaks began to strike the beast continuously.

The entire land was shaking, and the fierce thunder could be heard clearly even by the dwarves in the swamp. They could observe numerous lightning bolts forming above the energy field.

The scenes these dwarves saw today would never leave their minds. For hundreds of years they had wished for a Sage to visit their swamp and save them.

They thought that their wish had finally come true.

"Roaaaarrr!" With a single thought from Heinald, the ice layer surrounding the beast had broken, and then hundreds of lightning streaks had directly struck it.

Although its body was not extremely strong and durable, a Lightning-based High Rank spell had very destructive power. Various parts of this beast's body were charred, and some of its bones had become salt-like.

Fierce lightning had completely collapsed the area where it stood, causing a large crater to form. Dense smoke was rising from inside the crater.

When beast emerged from the crater, his right front claw was completely shattered. There was an open wound on the upper part of his body, from which a fluid resembling haze was oozing out.

"Roooaaarr!" Beast roared angrily and raised his two rear claws. A pillar of lightning began to form between his claws.

"Will he use an innate skill?" Heinald began to observe carefully.

Some advanced Magical Beasts were able to develop a special attack skill thanks to their experience. This Magical Beast should have a lightning element predisposition.

Since this beast was prone to the lightning element, he was also immune to it; however, Divine Chaos had done him quite a bit of damage.

The lightning pillar formed by the Beast suddenly fell to the ground, and fierce lightning bolts enveloped the several hundred meters area.

Heinald had immediately fled backwards, thus avoiding the violence of this lightning field.

*Crack* Violent cracking sounds began to come from underground.

"No!" Heinald cried out in panic. At that moment, a long thin crack formed over hundreds of miles, and the entire region began to collapse.

This was due to the violent explosions in areas close to each other and the fact that the underground had already been dug many times before.

Most of the Bleak Hollow area and a small part of the swamp completely collapsed. A strong earthquake was felt all around the area.

"Roaaaaaarrrr!" The Beast roared fiercely as he sank into the ground with the collapsing ground.

Heinald began to fall deep underground, along with the surrounding earth and rocks weighing hundreds of thousands of tons.

He immediately activated the Blood Nightmare Shield with a single thought. A pale red layer had enveloped him, protecting him from anything that could harm him during his fall.

Heinald could easily observe the earth and rocks falling with him as he quickly fell down. It should not have fallen hundreds of meters with the weight of the soil on it in a few seconds, but it still had not crashed to the ground.

"Whisper of the Wind!" Heinald cried out in his mind, and as he fell, he stepped on the rock below and drew strength from it to dash upward. But even this power did not allow him to pierce the tons of soil above him.

"Damn it!" Heinald's eyes widened at the yellow light he saw. It was about to fall directly into a sea of lava.

*Squeak* Heinald crashed directly into the sea of lava and began to sink deeper into it. Numerous cracks began to appear in the pale red layer surrounding it.

Heinald could feel in his mind that the energy of his Protective Type Magical Treasure was rapidly depleting. Falling straight into the sea of lava caused the pale red layer, the safety barrier that surrounded him to rapidly decline in durability.

At that time, hundreds of tons of earthen stones began to fall on the lava sea. If he didn't find a way to quickly get out of the sea of lava, he would be swallowed by the lava and die painfully.
