The Master of Beasts

Chapter 117 Spirit Void Realm

The Spirit Void Realm is a minor world. Its maximum capacity limits cultivation to the Mahayana level. Thus, even if the Demon Clan invades, the highest cultivation level they can bring is also Mahayana.

Those with higher cultivation levels cannot enter. Heavenly Immortals who could forcibly break through would battle in the Great Thousand Worlds, monitored by Sect Elders, so there's no need for concern. Therefore, in the Spirit Void Realm, Chen Jiuge, with his Mahayana cultivation, is quite safe, provided he doesn't act recklessly.

This is a world where technology and mysticism converge.

The level of technological development is similar to that of his previous world, except that the most powerful conventional weapon, the missile, only possesses power comparable to the Nascent Soul level, which is rather insignificant.

On the mystical side, there are various Sequences. However, the sources of these Sequences—Evil Gods, equivalent to True Immortals—have already been exterminated by the Sect Elders tasked with pioneering this world. So currently, the highest native cultivation level is only equivalent to Returning to Void.

Even during the Myriad Beasts Sect's period of governance, many natives of the Spirit Void Realm switched to Qi Cultivation and Body Refining Magic Techniques. The strongest among them included a few at the Returning to Void level, constituting a respectable fighting force.

The destination of the Transmission Array was the realm's most bustling metropolis—Huanghuang City.

Chen Jiuge was not the only disciple from Myriad Beasts Sect to be transported. Most were at cultivation levels between Nascent Soul and Returning to Void. There were even some Golden Core Outer Disciples hoping to try their luck. Naturally, those at the Foundation Establishment level weren't considered, as the Sect wouldn't send such fledglings into battle; after all, they wouldn't be very useful.

"Senior Brother, please follow me. The other Mahayana Senior Brothers are already in the conference room," a female disciple, evidently responsible for reception, respectfully invited Chen Jiuge.

Glancing at the four exceptionally conspicuous beasts behind him, Chen Jiuge cautioned, somewhat uneasy, "Stay here quietly, don't wander off, and don't cause any trouble. Wait for me to come out."

Watching the four beasts nod uniformly in agreement, Chen Jiuge felt a growing unease in his heart. And Ming Snake, aren't you supposed to be the most aloof? Why have you changed so much after just a few days with Yue Meng and Da Bai?

Carrying this unease, Chen Jiuge followed the female disciple into the conference room.

Four Mahayana cultivators were seated in the conference room: an elder who seemed to be a Sect Steward, and three disciples—two male, one female.

Seeing Chen Jiuge arrive, the elder, who appeared to be in charge, rose and smiled. "Senior Brother, you've finally arrived. Now, all five Mahayana cultivators responsible for the Spirit Void Realm are present."

"Wait, are there only five of us Mahayana cultivators in the entire Spirit Void Realm?" Chen Jiuge asked, somewhat confused.

Myriad Beasts Sect certainly wasn't lacking in Mahayana cultivators. Although there were many minor worlds, it seemed unlikely that only four Mahayana cultivators would be assigned to one.

"Junior Brother, the Spirit Void Realm can accommodate a maximum of five Mahayana cultivators from outside; of course, local cultivators don't count towards this limit. The invading Demon Clan numbers might be slightly higher, perhaps around ten or so. Each of us has at least one Mahayana Spiritual Beast under our command. Overall, we still hold the advantage," explained the male cultivator on the right.

"I see," Chen Jiuge felt somewhat reassured.

"Let's introduce ourselves," the elder, Gu Xu, who served as a Sect Steward, began. "We are all Mahayana cultivators. I am slightly older, so just address me directly as Senior Brother."

"Chen He," the stoic young man on the left introduced himself, his arms crossed.

"Chen Manli," said the only Female Cultivator with a grin.

"Lun Shan," said the cultivator who had responded to Chen Jiuge earlier.

"Now that we know each other, I won't waste words." Gu Xu clapped his hands, drawing everyone's attention before continuing, "The space stabilization great array provided by the Sect this time is limited by the strength of the Spirit Void Realm. It can only cover half of this world."

"With Huanghuang City at the center: Lun Shan will take the east, Chen Manli the west, Chen He the south, and Chen Jiuge the north. Any problems?"

The four nodded. It wasn't clear where the Demon Clan would emerge, so this arrangement was logical.

"Areas outside the spatial array's coverage could be landing points for the Demon Clan, and there might be more than one. Therefore, we need to build sufficiently tall and sturdy city walls within this sixty-year period. Fortunately, this part is manageable; I have the Yellow Turban Warriors assigned by the Sect, so I will take responsibility for it," Gu Xu said slowly.

"I will also fairly distribute the Outer Disciples according to their strength. Any additional forces will require you to train the local inhabitants. Of course, if you believe your own strength is sufficient, you need not conscript locals."

"I won't say much else. Everyone, head to your designated areas. When the Demon Clan officially arrives, I will provide timely support," Gu Xu declared quite straightforwardly, effectively dismissing them.

Leaving the conference room, Chen Jiuge approached Lun Shan, who seemed more approachable.

Lun Shan smiled slightly, handing over a Jade Scroll. "Junior Brother, it seems this is your first time participating in a war against the Demon Clan. Here is some basic information about them; much of it is from my personal experience, which you can refer to, Junior Brother. However, the most important thing now is to head to your designated area and implement the specific operations yourself."

"Thank you, Senior Brother," Chen Jiuge said gratefully. Although he had recently read a fair amount about the Demon Clan, it was all theoretical information from Jade Scrolls. He hadn't had any practical experience, so Lun Shan's Jade Scroll was a great help.

Not rushing to examine the Jade Scroll, Chen Jiuge first gathered the most conspicuous beasts, including Yue Meng, in the main hall. Then, he mounted Silver King's back, intending to head to his designated area first.

SCREECH!

With the cry of an eagle, Chen Jiuge and his Spiritual Beasts vanished into the sky.

"You seem quite optimistic about him," Chen He remarked coldly to Lun Shan.

Lun Shan smiled faintly. "He's a Heavenly Immortal Disciple. He raised a Silver Iron Eagle in the Beast Breeding Competition that only narrowly lost to a Wind Thunder Tiger from a White Tiger Peak disciple. Of course, I think highly of him. After all, he's a genius, unlike us cannon fodder."

Chen He's expression soured. Somewhat displeased, he summoned a Flying Spiritual Beast and departed.

"Is that really appropriate? Chen He has undertaken missions with us before, after all, and his strength is quite good," Chen Manli said, seeming somewhat dissatisfied with Lun Shan's actions.

Alone with Chen Manli, Lun Shan's smile vanished. "Chen He is just a reckless fool. He actually thinks that just because he chose the path of a Sword Cultivator, we're all Sword Cultivators. But we are Beast Masters, not Sword Cultivators. Such a person will definitely be the first to encounter trouble. I only hope he can last long enough to buy us more time to prepare."

Chen Manli opened her mouth as if to speak but ultimately said nothing, clearly trusting Lun Shan deeply.

"Don't worry. My preparations this time are absolutely sound; they just require a little more time. As long as we endure this initial period, there should be no problems afterward," Lun Shan comforted Chen Manli, hugging her.

"Mm."

Chen Jiuge didn't know these three knew each other. He'd assumed they were just colleagues grouped together for the mission and felt quite grateful to Lun Shan.

Due to the limitations of the array, its boundary perfectly aligned with the Northern Territory's only major city—Beiye City.
