The Massacre Accross All Cosmos

Chapter 14: Chapter 27 - The Terrifying Desert

Chapter 27 - The Terrifying Desert

The dark sky stretched endlessly, gazing over the vast desert that extended without end. No wind whispered, no life peeked from behind the dead sands. This desert was not like an ordinary one—the sand was not golden-brown, but pale gray, as if it had absorbed the void for thousands of years. Footsteps left deep marks, as if the sand wanted to swallow anyone who dared to step on it.

Xiao Bai Tian stood in the midst of this emptiness, his eyes hidden behind a black cloth, staring ahead with no expression. In the distance, a faint silhouette of towering stone mountains could be seen, their outlines blurred as if swaying in an illusion. His first step in this place brought an eerie sensation—walking on an endless expanse of ash, every friction of the sand sounded like the whispers of souls long dead.

In the sky, there was no sun, no moon, only a layer of black mist that occasionally shifted as if something was hiding within it. Xiao Bai Tian could feel the strangeness of this place—it was as if something was always watching him, but never fully surfaced.

Far in the desert, there were holes covered in dark shadows, like the open mouths of creatures, ready to swallow anything that came near. Occasionally, a low rumble echoed from within these holes, like the breath of a creature sleeping, waiting for its moment to awaken.

Xiao Bai Tian kept walking. The air around him grew heavier, as if a force was trying to pull his soul out of his body.

Suddenly, the sand before him began to stir. From beneath the surface, something started to emerge. It was not a living creature, but a large stone covered in ancient carvings.

Ancient Carved Stone

The stone towered from the sand, which seemed to tremble beneath it. It was dozens of meters high, with a rough surface filled with grooves not made by human hands. The stone's color was a deep black with faint red streaks, as if it held the embers of a long-extinguished fire within. As Xiao Bai Tian approached, he felt something—not just the presence of an inanimate object, but the breath of something ancient resonating with time itself.

The carvings on the stone were not ordinary symbols. They seemed like a collection of veins pulsing slowly, like the body of an ancient creature still alive. Each carving contained strange patterns—lines woven like circles of time, forming formations that couldn't be understood by normal logic. If observed more closely, the carvings seemed to create an illusion of movement, as if they were constantly changing even though the stone remained still.

In the center of the stone, there was a symbol in the shape of an eye, but this eye appeared like a dimensional rift peering from another world. Xiao Bai Tian stared at it in silence. There was something very old within that eye—something older than the dead stars, older than histories forgotten by the sky itself.

When Xiao Bai Tian's finger touched the stone, a terrifying surge of power erupted. The space around him trembled, and the sand covering the ground instantly floated into the air, forming a vortex that spun wildly. The air suddenly felt heavier, and a low humming sound emerged from within the stone, as if an entity was sealed inside.

However, the most shocking thing was the entrance that began to carve itself into the surface of the stone. Slowly, glowing lines appeared, forming a rectangular gap that shimmered with dark blue light. The light seemed not to come from this world, like a window into the endless void.

Around the entrance, more intricate carvings appeared—ancient verses written in a language unknown even to the gods. The words seemed alive, constantly changing and pulsing, emitting a sound that echoed in Xiao Bai Tian's mind.

"Void gives birth to existence, existence gives birth to emptiness. Every step here is not just a journey, but the beginning of an end already written."

Xiao Bai Tian read the inscription with a calm expression. He understood that this place was not just an ancient legacy, but something much deeper—something that held laws that couldn't be solved with mere power.

Without hesitation, he stepped forward. As he touched the light of the entrance, his body felt as if it was being pulled into an endless sea of emptiness. In an instant, gravity disappeared, sounds vanished, and the world transformed into something entirely different.

The Entrance to the Infinite Void

As Xiao Bai Tian stepped into the glowing gap in the giant stone, the world around him began to change drastically. The air disappeared, sounds vanished, and the colors of the world crumbled into an endless void. This space was not a space in the usual sense, but something beyond the comprehension of mortal beings—a void dimension that had no top or bottom, left or right.

In this void, there was no light, but somehow, he could still see. There was no ground, yet his feet could still walk. Every step he took made no sound at all, as if he were merely a shadow floating without weight.

The walls of this void resembled curtains of black mist that moved slowly, swirling and twisting without any clear pattern. Occasionally, flashes of dark blue light appeared within it, forming lines that resembled cracks in reality itself. Some of these cracks looked like eyes peering from another dimension, watching anyone who dared to enter.

In the distance, faint sounds began to echo—not ordinary sounds, but echoes of the past and future speaking together. The whispers in this void sounded like forgotten prayers or perhaps warnings from entities long dead.

"This void is not an ordinary space… it is the boundary before the beginning and the end…"

Xiao Bai Tian remained silent. Though this space pressed on his mind, he stood firm, his eyes, hidden behind the black cloth, still radiating an unshakable calmness.

Suddenly, in the midst of the void, a gate appeared—a massive door that was made from materials that could not be recognized. The door seemed to be formed of shadows and light, moving slowly as if it were breathing. The carvings on the door were extremely intricate, depicting battles between ancient entities that transcended time itself. There were beings as large as stars, fighting against destruction that had no form. There was also a mysterious figure sitting on a throne, holding a scroll filled with the laws of the universe.

Above the door, a phrase was written in a language that was nearly unreadable:

"Only those who understand the void can step further…"

Xiao Bai Tian raised his hand and touched the door. The moment his hand touched the seemingly unreal surface, a massive pressure instantly enveloped his body. An indescribable force tried to cast his existence away, as if he were not part of this reality.

However, he resisted. The Divine Eyes within him pulsed, and his Absolute God Blood resonated with the surrounding void. With a firm step, he pushed the door open.

As the door opened, dazzling golden light poured out, forming a long path leading into an endless darkness. At the end of the path stood a figure, waiting for him.

It was the Gatekeeper.

The Gatekeeper

As the golden light from the open door illuminated the void around him, the figure standing at the end of the path became clearer. He was not human, nor a being that could be defined by ordinary words.

The Gatekeeper was enormous, as large as a massive mountain. He stood thousands of meters tall, and every movement of his caused waves of energy that shook the surrounding empty space. His body seemed to be made of ancient stone, absorbing the power of time for billions of years. Every inch of his skin was covered with ancient carvings, golden and blue lines of text that glowed as though the words themselves had life.

He wore a long, pitch-black robe with silver patterns forming constellations of unknown stars. Each strand of fabric appeared heavy, as if it contained the gravitational laws of a different universe.

His hair was silver-white, reaching his back, and it fluttered gently even though there was no wind in this place. However, the most striking feature of this gatekeeper was the accessory hanging from his back—a golden, layered circle that slowly spun, as if it were the axis of his entire existence. The circle was carved with constantly changing patterns, each symbol inside appearing to be a primordial language containing cosmic mysteries.

Xiao Bai Tian stood calmly, observing the gatekeeper without saying a word. The Divine Eye within him pulsed gently, sending the feeling that this being was not just an ordinary guardian, but perhaps part of a larger mechanism within the laws of the universe.

"Those who enter the Gate of Infinite Void… should have long disappeared from the flow of time."

The Gatekeeper's voice echoed, deep and heavy, as if it came from an era long past. The voice was not just heard in Xiao Bai Tian's ears, but also resonated directly within his consciousness, as if it touched the essence of his soul.

Xiao Bai Tian did not immediately respond. He merely tilted his head slightly, showing his resolve.

"I am here to step further."

An extraordinary silence filled the empty space after these words were spoken. The gatekeeper's eyes, like two swirling black holes, watched Xiao Bai Tian closely, trying to determine whether the figure before him was worthy of passing through this gate.

Suddenly, an immense pressure shot toward Xiao Bai Tian. This was not just any pressure—it was the law of existence, a test that would determine whether his presence in this place was valid or not.

Without a trace of fear, Xiao Bai Tian stood tall. In an instant, the energy within his body ignited. The light from the Divine Eyes hidden behind his black cloth began to glow faintly, and his Absolute God Blood vibrated, resisting the force that tried to remove him from existence.

The Gatekeeper observed
