The Magnificent Son-in-law

Chapter 514: Darcy's Teammates

Thinking about it carefully, it's actually not hard to understand.

Since it's a rescue call, it must mean being trapped somewhere without being able to get out.

In this situation, how do you deal with the call of nature?

No doubt it's solved on the spot.

No matter how civil one tries to be, biological needs can't be ignored; it's all in and no out, unless you're a mythical beast.

They walked until they reached the corner, where Xiao Feng and the others stopped.

A large pit appeared in front of them, as wide as the passage, but five meters deep, and an astonishing ten meters long!

Inside the pit, more than ten people lay scattered and askew, and upon seeing Xiao Feng and the others, they became excited and said, "You've finally come!"

Xiao Feng furrowed his brows slightly and said, "Are you all blind? You couldn't see such a big pit? Jumping in one or two could be understandable, but all of you jumping down together?"

The others also found this hard to comprehend. Although the pit was set at the corner, which was a visual blind spot, it was somewhat understandable to miss it and fall.

However, as Xiao Feng said, at most one or two people might fall in, unless everyone was blind and deaf; otherwise, it couldn't lead to such a complete wipeout.

A pale young man lying on the ground weakly explained, "Someone triggered a mechanism, and we really didn't have time to react."

"Still doesn't add up," a little girl continued to question, "Even if it triggered a mechanism, the pit is deep, but with so many of you, stacking one on top another, a few should be able to get out, right?"

The young man, on the brink of tears, said, "Don't you notice anything strange?"

"What's strange?"

"We try to move, but there's something down here that's sticking us down, we can't move at all."

Lin Jiaxuan said coldly, "If you weren't so stubborn, you'd take off your clothes and be free, wouldn't you?"

"Ha, just look ahead to the right to understand," the young man gestured.

Everyone looked to the right. There lay a man, shirtless, flat on his back on the ground, his belly button exposed, eyes half-open, half-closed, looking like he was half-dead.

Not only that, but they also saw several unfortunate ones lying face down, struggling even to breathe normally, with a large brown patch behind them, exuding an unbearable stench.

Turning his eyes away, Xiao Feng asked, "Are Darcy and Hu Zhenqing with you?"

As soon as he finished speaking, a foreigner with an eye patch suddenly shouted not far from the young man, "Where are those two traitors now?"

"One is dead, and I don't know if the other is dead or alive," Xiao Feng replied flatly.

"Dead or alive, what the hell are you doing?" the one-eyed man viciously questioned.

His tone clearly treated Xiao Feng and the others as the second team sent to deliver supplies.

It was obvious the one-eyed man wasn't stupid, at least smarter than Darcy.

Upon seeing Xiao Feng and the others, he didn't initiate dialogue immediately but observed quietly.

Only when he was quite certain Xiao Feng's group was likely the second team did he seize the conversation control from the young man.

"I'm starving, where's your leader?" the one-eyed man arrogantly demanded.

Xiao Feng stepped forward with a gentle smile and said, "I'm their leader."

"You?" the one-eyed man sneered, "A Huaxia person? Whatever, no matter what, you have three minutes to figure out how to get food into my mouth."

Xiao Feng found it amusing; he truly didn't understand why these foreigners felt superior facing Huaxia people.

At any rate, Daqing has long been gone!

Judging from the current situation, erasing this natural arrogance of foreigners is probably a long journey ahead.

Of course, this doesn't hinder Xiao Feng from starting with himself; others he can't control, but anyone daring to be bossy in front of him must pay the price!

However, before Xiao Feng could act, the little girl untied the long whip from her waist, sneered, and stepped forward, saying, "Send it to your mouth, right?

Want to eat, right?

Fine!

Taste my whip!"

"Crack!"

A loud whip crack pierced the air.

"Ahhhhh!"

The one-eyed man screamed, a diagonal red mark appeared on his cheek, and it swelled visibly.

"You bastards! Do you know who I am? How dare you lay a hand on me?" the one-eyed man roared in disbelief.

"Still cursing?" The little girl's brows furrowed as she swung her whip again.

"Crack!"

A swollen cross mark appeared on the one-eye's face, turning his fierce demeanor ludicrous, like a clown performing in a circus.

"Come on, curse a few more times, let me hear." The little girl rubbed her fists, eager for more, acting like she hadn't had enough.

By then, even if the one-eyed man were foolish, he'd realize something's wrong, and yet, he wasn't stupid, just too clever by half.

He submissively shut his mouth, not daring to utter a word, not even a moan or whimper.

And the others, needless to say, wouldn't dare speak either; if they dared hit the one-eye, they wouldn't hesitate to hit anyone else.

Xiao Feng was quite satisfied with this outcome, calmly saying, "I ask, you answer, any objections?"

The young man and others at the bottom of the pit shook their heads constantly, expressing they dared not have any.

Those lying down suffered, wanting to shake their heads along, yet causing sharp pains in their faces, unable to budge.

With one hand on her hip, the little girl added, "Let's start off ugly: whoever dares fabricate or conceal the truth, this will be their fate..."

"Crack!"

She lashed out the whip.

The one-eyed man's eyes, no, his one eye, rolled back, and he fainted right away.

"Tell me everything about what happened after you encountered the giant spiders," Xiao Feng said.

With the one-eyed man as a cautionary tale, the remaining ones certainly wouldn't dare play tricks. The young man mainly narrated, and others occasionally supplemented, eager to spill everything they knew.

After hearing their account, Xiao Feng and the others understood.

Turns out, when they entered the giant spider's territory, they didn't encounter small spiders, and the passage was open, without the Red-eyed Toad blocking the entrance.

Darcy fled, thinking there was no visible threat, assuming no one would survive, so he deserted.

Hu Zhenqing ran in terror upon seeing the plight of his teammates, likewise believing no one could survive the giant spider's attack.

As for the teammate Hu Zhenqing said was killed by the giant spider, he lay in the pit, with a large wound in his abdomen, long beyond saving.

After contemplating for a moment, Xiao Feng asked, "Do you want to live?"
