The Magnificent Son-in-law

Chapter 432: The Color Has Changed

In the car, Di Junxiong, sitting in the passenger seat, turned his head and hesitated before speaking: "Master, you might not know, that guy in the Hanfu, his dad is quite wealthy around here.

Of course, it doesn't really matter, compared to Master, his dad is just a nobody no matter how rich he is!"

"Just focus on your work!" Xiao Feng glared at him.

This really matches people's stereotypical view of traditional master-apprentice relationships, where the master always finds fault with the apprentice in every way, almost never satisfied.

And the apprentice feels awe toward the master, never talking back when scolded or beaten.

At this moment, the little girl suddenly said: "Brother Xiao Feng, I just heard those onlookers seemed to have switched to Zhao Fengyun's side again. Their stance changes quite fast, doesn't it?"

Xiao Feng nodded: "Yeah, just like the speed you change your face."

"Hmph, you're mocking me again, not talking to you!" The little girl crossed her arms in front of her chest, pouting.

Xiao Feng shook his head with a laugh, explaining: "For people watching the spectacle, the quick change in stance seems hard to understand at first, almost like being swayed by the wind. But if you think about it, they don't really care about the source, only the end result."

"I don't quite understand." The little girl still felt confused.

Xiao Feng pondered: "Let me give you an example. Suppose I'm a vendor selling fried dough sticks, and someone keeps blocking my stall and yelling obscenities. If I were to beat him up, nobody would think much of it; they'd actually show support, thinking that guy deserves it."

"That's definitely true." The little girl nodded: "That guy deserved to be beaten."

"But..." Xiao Feng changed his tone: "If instead of beating him up, I stabbed him to death, what would outsiders think then?"

The little girl seriously replied: "Probably thinking it's unnecessary, or that it's too excessive?"

"Exactly, when the outcome exceeds what onlookers can emotionally handle, they stop caring about the cause. They subconsciously ignore the fact that he was stabbed to death because he blocked my stall every day, only focusing on me killing someone."

"I see now." The little girl exclaimed, enlightened.

"Master, that metaphor is spot on!" Di Junxiong quickly paid a compliment.

After a dozen minutes, the vehicle drove through a few streets.

Xiao Feng and the others got out and started shopping for the items on their list.

This time, they didn't encounter anything for free, but obviously, everybody's mind was not on these small savings; they were eager to finish shopping and tell Zhao Guo'an about Zhao Fengyun's affairs.

When they returned to the courtyard, it was already four in the afternoon.

The sunset hung in the west, dyeing the white clouds red, looking from afar like a picturesque masterpiece drawn in rich and vivid hues.

Children in the street pointed at the clouds in the sky, saying what they think this looks like and what that looks like, their innocent and joyful expressions bringing smiles to the faces of passing pedestrians.

Objectively speaking, although this tourist town seems to have few good people, the pace of life is much slower than in big cities. Being able to relax here for a few days, to alleviate work stress, is truly an enjoyable thing for most people.

Unloading the things from the taxi's trunk, the little girl immediately ran into Zhao Guo'an's room, shouting: "There's big news, big news!"

Inside, Zhao Guo'an had just taken a sip of tea and nearly sprayed it out.

"Cough cough cough..." Zhao Guo'an coughed violently from being choked, complaining: "What are you in such a hurry for, are wolves chasing you?"

"It's you who are chased by wolves!" The little girl stood with hands on her hips, glaring at the top of Zhao Guo'an's head, not blinking.

Zhao Guo'an felt completely uncomfortable, looked up, and couldn't help but ask: "What do you mean? Why are you staring at my hair?"

The little girl replied earnestly: "The color seems different than usual, vaguely showing signs of turning green."

"You!" Zhao Guo'an couldn't take it anymore and slammed the table: "This kind of joke isn't one to casually make; believe it or not, if I beat you up because of this, even Old Xiao can't say anything about it."

"Perhaps." The little girl shrugged: "Too bad you can't beat me."

"That doesn't mean you can joke like that." Zhao Guo'an said, blushing.

"Don't be agitated, Brother Xiao Feng got into a fight with someone today on the street to keep your hair from turning green."

"What do you mean?"

The little girl ignored Zhao Guo'an's inquiry, turning her gaze to Zhen Jinghan: "Sister Jinghan, on the day of the temple fair, did you bump into someone doing a sale on the street?" The little girl ignored Zhao Guo'an's inquiry, turning her gaze to Zhen Jinghan: "Sister Jinghan, on the day of the temple fair, did you bump into someone doing a sale on the street?" Zhen Jinghan widened her eyes, surprised: "Yeah, but how do you know?"

"And did you request the song 'The Hottest Ethnic Trend'?"

"Yes, that did happen."

The little girl nodded: "Then that's correct."

Speaking, she recounted the encounter with Zhao Fengyun on the street, telling them the whole story.

Only then did Zhao Guo'an understand the little girl's point, and just as he was about to clarify his relationship with Zhen Jinghan, Xiao Feng and Lu Yao walked in.

And with this delay, Zhen Jinghan quickly explained to him: "Don't get me wrong, I was just walking down the street, and that person wouldn't let me go unless I requested a song for him to sing to me. He pestered me into picking 'The Hottest Ethnic Trend' casually."

Xiao Feng and Lu Yao exchanged knowing glances, realizing this made sense; otherwise, given Zhen Jinghan's personality, if he were seriously picking a song, it should not have been 'The Hottest Ethnic Trend.'

Having lost the best chance to distance himself from the connection, Zhao Guo'an helplessly said: "You don't need to explain; even if you're interested in him, it's really no big deal."

"....." Zhen Jinghan remained silent, not speaking for a while.

Xiao Feng tried to ease the tension: "Don't say things in spite, you haven't seen Zhao Fengyun, that kid dresses like a lunatic, how could anyone fancy him."

This was evidently intended to belittle, disregarding other ethical qualities and solely focusing on looks, Zhao Fengyun is actually rather handsome.

Zhen Jinghan gratefully glanced at Xiao Feng, saying: "Later, I mentioned this matter to the elderly man at Yuechen Inn, and he told me, Zhao Fengyun's family is quite rich.

Moreover, it wasn't the first time he pretended to be a merchant on the street and harassed girls.

This is a tourist town with high pedestrian traffic, so many girls have been tricked, some losing money, and some deceived into compromising situations."
