The Magic Merchant in Fairy Tail

Chapter 98: Chapter 98: New Protoss

Joseph of Phantom Lord implemented his plan to lure Fairy Tail's main force to their base while secretly dispatching Thor, the earth mage, and Juvia, the water mage, to abduct Lucy Heartfilia. Their goal: ransom her back to her wealthy father and deal a psychological blow to Fairy Tail.

The strategy was thorough—lure the enemy, strike the leader, divide their forces, and sabotage from within. However, Kira anticipated this move. He knew Joseph's cunning tendencies and prepared Lucy and the guild for an eventual sneak attack.

Pitter-patter.

Rain began to fall, casting an eerie atmosphere over the Fairy Tail guild. Lucy was near the entrance when a pale woman with a sullen expression approached, holding an umbrella.

Following closely was a man, his upper body emerging sideways from the ground like a ghostly apparition.

"Two strange people..." Lucy muttered, gripping her Celestial Spirit key pouch.

"Juvia is a rain woman... what kind of girl are you?" the blue-haired woman asked in a monotonous tone.

Lucy frowned.

"Hello, young lady!" the man interjected with a grin. "I'm Thor, and it's an honor to meet you on behalf of the great Phantom Lord!"

"Phantom?!" Lucy gasped. Her eyes blazed with anger as she pulled out a Celestial Key. "So, you're the ones who destroyed our guild and attacked Levi!"

Thor smirked. "No, no, no. That was Gajeel. We're just here for you, Miss Lucy Heartfilia."

Before Lucy could respond, a massive sphere of water enveloped her. She gasped, struggling to breathe as the water constricted her movements.

"Don't be afraid, Miss Heartfilia," Juvia said softly, her hand controlling the water sphere. "Juvia will not harm you. Juvia's mission is only to take you back."

The Celestial Key in Lucy's hand glowed fiercely. The golden light expanded, and with a flash, Aquarius appeared.

"You've got some nerve, girl!" Aquarius snapped, holding her urn high.

The water spirit sucked the sphere surrounding Lucy into her urn, then unleashed a powerful torrent toward Juvia and Thor.

Juvia's body turned to water, and she absorbed the attack with ease. Thor, rooted to the ground, twisted but remained unscathed.

"It actually broke through Juvia's water restraints," Juvia murmured, visibly impressed.

"Lucy's stronger than I thought," Thor commented, brushing water from his shoulder.

Lucy caught her breath, gratitude written on her face. "Thanks, Aquarius."

Aquarius dismissed her with a flick of her tail and disappeared.

Hearing the commotion, Mira rushed out from the guild. Her eyes hardened when she saw Juvia and Thor.

"They're from Phantom!" Mira declared, stepping in front of Lucy. "Just as Kira predicted."

Lucy's heart sank. "Kira knew they would come for me? Why didn't he say anything?"

The realization hit her. "Their target… is me?"

Thor's grin widened. "No, no, no. The target has always been Fairy Tail. You're just part of the plan. We were hired by your father to bring you back."

"My father?" Lucy was stunned.

"The Heartfilia Group paid Phantom to retrieve you," Thor added smugly.

Lucy's knees buckled. "So this is my fault… Levi was hurt because of me… The guild is under attack because of me…"

Mira gently placed a hand on Lucy's shoulder. "Don't blame yourself, Lucy. You're our family. Fairy Tail fights together, no matter what."

"Mira-san…"

"Now, step back," Mira said firmly, her voice taking on a commanding edge. "Let me handle this."

Thor cracked his knuckles, his grin unwavering. "Miss Mira, are you still as strong as they say? Or has time dulled the Demon of Fairy Tail?"

Juvia's expression softened into curiosity. "Juvia has never fought someone like you before."

Mira's lips curled into a smile, her voice confident. "You'll find out soon enough."

"Juvia will be your opponent!" Juvia declared, raising her hand. "Water Stream Assault!"

A powerful surge of water slammed into Mira, sending her flying into the trees. Juvia transformed into a stream and followed, determined to keep Mira on the defensive.

"Mira-san!" Lucy cried, her heart pounding.

"I'm fine!" Mira shouted back from the distance. "Take care of the other one, Lucy!"

Lucy hesitated, glancing at Thor, who smiled and bowed mockingly.

"Miss Heartfilia, it seems we're destined to clash," Thor said. "Let's make this quick, shall we?"

Lucy straightened, her grip on her Celestial Keys tightening. "Fine. You're not taking me anywhere!"

She summoned Taurus. The bull spirit charged at Thor, swinging his massive axe.

Thor retaliated, summoning a wall of earth to block the attack. The clash sent shockwaves through the ground, but Lucy didn't falter.

"Open the Gate of the Lion! Leo!"

Loke appeared, his golden mane gleaming. "At your service, Princess!"

Together, Lucy and her spirits launched a coordinated assault on Thor.

Meanwhile, Mira recovered from Juvia's water attacks. She wiped blood from her lip and smiled darkly.

"That's it?" Mira taunted, her voice low and menacing.

Juvia hesitated. "Juvia doesn't understand… Is she… enjoying this?"

Mira's aura changed. Her eyes glowed with power as dark magic swirled around her. "Let me show you why they called me the Demon."

With a roar, Mira unleashed her Satan Soul transformation. Her body shimmered, her gentle features replaced by the fearsome form of her demonic takeover magic.

"Water Lock!" Juvia cried, trying to trap Mira.

But Mira's claws slashed through the water barrier effortlessly. With a single leap, she closed the distance between them and struck Juvia with devastating force, sending her crashing to the ground.

Back at the guild entrance, Lucy and her spirits pushed Thor to his limit.

"You're tougher than you look," Thor admitted, struggling to keep his defenses up.

"You haven't seen anything yet!" Lucy shouted. "Aquarius, finish this!"

Aquarius returned, summoning a massive tidal wave. Thor couldn't withstand the combined power of Lucy's spirits and was swept away, crashing into the forest.

Juvia, weakened from her fight with Mira, staggered back to Thor's side.

"It seems… we underestimated them," Juvia said softly.

Thor nodded grimly. "We'll retreat for now."

As the two Phantom mages disappeared into the rain, Lucy and Mira stood together, victorious but weary.

"We did it," Lucy said, her voice trembling with relief.

Mira smiled gently, her transformation fading. "Of course we did. We're Fairy Tail."
