"Alright, I am aware that Nikolai is already mentally unstable, but this just... This cannot be taken! For gods' sake, that is a dragon." At the side of the food table in the ballroom, a panicked voice resounded. His gaze was fixed on the dancing pair on the dance floor as he stood there. "Out of all the exquisitely attired pure bloods present, he chose to dance with a dragon and also said that she belonged to him."

"No wonder..." Another voice, pleased by the dancing pair, trailed off. "He was aware of the dragon that was going to infiltrate Celestia because that same dragon is his guest."

Vladimir scoffed in disbelief and turned to look at his calm cousin who was watching their crazy relative dance with a dragon. He has been watching Nikolai the entire night because he seemed to be waiting for someone. Vladimir nearly suffered a heart attack when he saw Nikolai holding the dragon, and he nearly passed out when Nikolai declared, like a jealous lover, that the dragoness was his.

"There is no denying that she is stunning and very captivating. I can see those filthy men who had before threatened her gazing at her appetizingly." Viktor kept a sharp eye on the scene. Everybody was looking at them, and rumors started to spread around. Who wouldn't be in awe if they witnessed the Alpha heir dancing with a dragon? After all, Wolves and dragons were at war.

"I'm curious to see how this will affect the Alpha and Luna. I won't talk about our fathers." Vladimir mumbled, then sighed heavily to get a handle on the shock that was roiling within of him. His eyes lit up as he put his arm around Viktor's shoulder.

"But she is ethereal nonetheless," He grinned, his gaze fixed on the woman with the glimmering gold reptilian eyes. His heart nearly stopped. "Golden dragon?" In complete amazement and bewilderment, he enquired.

The chandelier lights served her nicely, drawing everyone's attention to her. Her petite frame released a daring, strong, and menacing vibe that was oddly comparable to Nikolai's.

"But that dress looks familiar," He added curiously, carressing his chin.

Viktor strained his vision. She looked amazing in the dress, but he recognized that dress, for sure. "It does," he replied, then scowled.

The dragon was a golden dragon which meant that she was of royal blood. Nikolai had only recently been released from the portal prison, and Viktor was certain to have missed both Nikolai's departure from the room and Nikolai's association with any dragon.

Something was happening. Where had Nikolai encountered the royal dragon? What kind of bond did they have? Why exactly was the golden dragon in Celestia?

Viktor clenched his teeth and split his lips, revealing his extended fangs, which looked as if he was going to go hunting. Because the dragon was his natural foe, he saw the golden dragon as a threat, as did everyone else at the ball.

"Why are you making a face like that?" Vladimir questioned as he glared at Viktor in confusion.

"Your future stinks that's why." A familiar voice filled with mirth from the demon rang in Vladimir's ears continuously

Indignantly scowling, Viadmir took his hand off Viktor's shoulder. "Who do you think you are to address me in such a manner?" He approached Rhaziel while growling and shoved him by the chest.

Rolling his eyes, Rhaziel dusted his chest as if he had been stained, and then walked away.

Vladimir saw red and was about to charge after Rhaziel but Viktor grabbed his arm stopping him by his tracks. "Don't. Why cause another senseless bloodbath when there will already be one tonight?"

"I'll take care of that demon personally. Just because he came with Nikolai from Nexus and Luna allowed him into the castle doesn't make him safe from me." Vladimir puffed angrily, yanked his arm away, and grunted before stomping out.

Viktor let out a heavy sigh, pushing his hair back, and turning his attention back to the dancing pair. "Who exactly is she?" He asked through his teeth, feeling the Alpha's and the Luna's coming anger. If she was going to be slain and Nikolai had feelings for her, that night was going to be a bloodbath.

...

"Have you made a decision?"

Ophelia exhaled heavily at his anticipated query. His low, sensual voice caressed her bare skin like a feather.

His lips were just next to her ear, and the shockwaves he was sending into her body with his touches on her hand and waist only grew more potent with each passing second.

When his hot breath touched her skin, causing goosebumps, she shivered. His breath felt ticklish.

It wasn't her first time being this close to a man before. Most of the times, she had to go to balls in other to kill those she was ordered to kill, but it was the first time she was so affected by being so close to someone.

Was it because of his looks? She had never been moved by looks!

"Do you want me to repeat myself, Fire storm?"

"I have no idea what you are talking about," She growled in a quiet, low tone.

Nikolai's amused smile returned in a spine chilling unnatural way. She didn't know what they were talking about? Was she playing with him? It was supposed to be the other way around.

"Have you forgotten our last conversation?"

"The only thing I remember is you almost turning my forehead into a dagger post." Her tone was stern, and she tightened her hold on his hand. He found her cute.

"However, didn't you perfectly avoid it?" He mused.

'You won't be able to evade my shot, though.' Ophelia grumbled in her thoughts.

"But what if I didn't?" She snarled in utter irritation.

"Then that would be the end of it. However, I would have made certain that you were properly buried,"

Ophelia jerked away from him, but he drew her back, his large hand resting on her lower back. She let out a trembling gasp as she felt his naked touch on her bare back and tried to move away, but he drew her closer, their chests brushing against each other. His touch ignited her body, and all she wanted to do was scream.

"Let go of me." She growled sternly, avoiding his gaze that was frigidly fixed on hers.

"Why are you here?"

She felt her heart skip a beat again and looked into his eyes. His expression was grave. Did he know?

"Nikolai!" He held her hand tightly, and she screamed in a loud whisper.

"Of course, I didn't anticipate you to arrive with such fervor. If you recall, I stated that I wanted you for myself but wouldn't take you against your will until you attended this ball." His voice was unsettlingly calm, his eyes were like a hurricane and he suddenly leaned his face close to hers whispering, "Why are you here?"

"Let go of me," Ophelia began to wriggle free, but his hold on her became so tight that she was unable to do so. There were already a lot of eyes on her and she was on the verge of loosing it.

Nikolai let out a deep chuckle that made her scowl and her eyes sharpened with great intensity. She didn't care if she killed him in front of everyone there at that precise moment.

Her lips parted.

"Nikolai!" A voice that was clearly not hers yelled indignantly, and the music ceased once more.

Nikolai grumbled in disgust and simultaneously, he and Ophelia turned to see Celestia's Alpha and Luna glaring at them as if they had burned down the entire continent.
