Chapter 3: The Trial of the Cave of Light”
Arrival at the Cave
The caravan finally arrives at the Cave of Light, a legendary entrance surrounded by a glowing aura of intertwining light and darkness. Ziyan stands before it, carefully observing the scene.
Samir (sarcastically): "What a welcoming place. Nothing says 'enter safely' like darkness pulsing with danger."
Ziyan (with a faint smile): "Stop joking, Samir. We won't make it out safely unless you're serious this time."
Samir: "Serious? I've never been more serious than I am right now. Do I look like I'm thinking of a stroll?"
As they enter the cave, everyone begins hearing strange whispers, as if emanating from the depths of ancient times. An inscription appears on the walls in an ancient language.
Layan: "It's the language of the ancestors. It says: 'Only the pure shall pass, the weak will perish between the shadows and the light.'"
Samir: "Pure? That means Ziyan is in real trouble."
Ziyan (smiling): "And you'll be right there beside me, O pure-hearted."
They proceed cautiously until a large gap appears in the middle of the path, from which a bright light emanates.
The Guardian of the Cave appears, a giant creature with a lion's head and a body covered in gleaming armor. Its voice echoes through the cave:
Guardian: "You shall not pass unless you prove your worth. The darkness will devour the weak, and the light will test the strength of your hearts."
The trials begin, with each member of the caravan being separated to face different challenges. Ziyan finds himself facing a dark version of himself:
Dark Ziyan: "You are weak, and you do not deserve to lead. What are you doing here?!"
Ziyan: "I know my weakness, and I know my strength. I have nothing to prove to you."
In Samir's trial, he finds himself in a chaotic place, hearing voices mocking him:
Voices: "Just a jester following the heroes. There is no place for you here."
Samir (loudly): "If I'm a jester, know this: I'll laugh in the end. And that's what makes me different."
As for Layan, she faces a memory from her past, trying to save someone she loves, but failing.
Layan (sadly): "I cannot change the past, but I can protect the future."
After passing the trials, they emerge into a central hall where the Guardian awaits them again.
Guardian: "You have proven your worth, but this is not enough. True strength is shown in battle."
After passing the trials, they emerge into a central hall where the Guardian awaits them again.
Guardian: "You have proven your worth, but this is not enough. True strength is shown in battle."
A battle begins between the caravan and the Guardian, who uses both light and dark powers in combat.
• Ziyan steps forward with determined strides, attacking precisely while dodging the Guardian's swift strikes.
• Samir fires arrows at the Guardian's weak spots while making his usual remarks:
Samir: "I think this guardian could use a nap."
Ziyan (smiling): "Keep shooting your arrows, and leave the talking to me."
• Layan fights alongside Ziyan, using her speed and skill to avoid attacks and create openings in the Guardian's defense.
After a fierce battle, they defeat the Guardian, who bows to them before transforming into energy and fading into the air. Before them appears a large gate, within which a pure light surrounds an ancient manuscript.
Ziyan: "This is what we've been looking for."
Layan (in awe): "It's a text that speaks of Raghib and his true power."
Samir: "And where does this text say he hides his next meal? I think we need to prepare ourselves."
As they read the manuscript, the ground begins to shake, and the cave slowly starts to collapse.
Ziyan: "Let's get out before we're buried here!"
