The Lord Demon King is Unfathomable!

Chapter 283: Origin_3

"As for why I'm here, it all comes down to a damned experiment... Although I've given up all hope of returning, I still want to record everything I know as comprehensively as possible."

"I can't remember the exact unfortunate date, I only remember the experiment code was 'Delta-71'. I don't know if you'll be able to search for the relevant project name in the research entries, the one who found this diary. My superior told me it was absolutely confidential, but now... damn it, let's talk when I get back."

"In short, this research is really bizarre. The project leader told me that it's the Empire's top-priority research project, aiming to find a subspace jump technology more advanced than super space jump technology. It's said that in subspace, the concept of time doesn't exist, and even dimensions can be manipulated at will... I don't understand those complex terms, but as long as it's for the Empire, I'm willing to accept any dangerous experiment."

"The content of the experiment was very simple. I needed to pilot my research ship through a star gate located near Research Station 111, and then fly back from the other side of the gate... just that simple, it should have been just that simple! But the trouble was that after I went through, the gate disappeared!"

"This was a one-way ticket, and I flew into a completely unfamiliar star domain! There's no signal around, nor any gate, it feels like I've appeared here out of thin air! After the transition beam attenuated, my star chart became a blank sheet, with no star markers, no signal, not even the basic cosmic background radiation matched up with the models I was familiar with."

"This isn't even the worst part. The worst part is that the energy consumed by this jump far exceeded my imagination. The Conqueror is not a long-range planet exploration ship but a conventional research vessel primarily executing research tasks near orbit, lacking both a super space engine and jump guidance device, and that experimental model subspace engine has completely broken down."

"What the hell! I still remember that the project leader patted his chest and assured me that they succeeded in three consecutive jumps using unmanned ships carrying subspace engines and that it was foolproof before they found me... how did it fail as soon as I got on?"

"Enough with the complaints. I tried to send out a distress signal to nearby stations but regrettably got no response. And at this moment, my research ship was caught by the gravitational field of a nearby natural satellite, I had no time to adjust the orbit and had to switch to the emergency plan—making a crash landing with the landing module on an unknown planet nearby that seemed to have signs of life."

"The landing was somewhat successful, except it caused a large fire. As observed from outer space, this is a planet full of oxygen and liquid water, with gravity slightly stronger than standard gravity, an extremely active ecosystem, mammals occupying the dominant evolutionary position, and has even birthed a civilization... except their civilization is rather primitive."

"The brothers in the Colonial Department might be interested in this place, but for now, I just want to leave. The trouble is that this unexpected event has made me completely lose hope of returning. The only super space communication module is on the research ship and has completely lost contact. Meanwhile, the passive signal transmission device on the landing module does not have long-distance communication capability, so I can only hope for a passing ship to discover me by chance."

"But I also know that this possibility is extremely slim. The anomalies in cosmic background radiation have already explained many problems, and the comparison of star charts made me more certain that this might not even be the universe we are familiar with..."

The log was read halfway through.

Luo Yan became more and more astonished as he read, this was practically the interstellar version of Robinson Crusoe... or should we say 'Gutaf Crusoe'.

"Goodness... Dragon God Gutaf is actually an alien?!" Youyou was so shocked her entire spirit was frozen, staring blankly at the dark mirror surface with an abstract open mouth, unable to speak for a moment.

Luo Yan didn't pay attention to her but rubbed his chin with his index finger, falling into deep thought, murmuring to himself.

"Zeta Civilization... research ship... subspace? Experiment?"

Although he couldn't read every word in the log, he tried to understand by using imagination and reasoning, managing to grasp about seventy to eighty percent of the first half of the letter, while marking some obscure terms to help understand the content that followed.

What surprised him even more was yet to come—

"...what surprised me more is that the differences between this world and ours are not just the stars overhead, but also the physical laws of this world."

"I am a staunch materialist, always scoffing at the idea that the mind can affect matter, yet those primitives showed me a power that was beyond my comprehension... they conjured flames from their hands out of thin air, created water from nothing, and then turned water into ice!"

"At first, I thought it was some kind of trick, but the changes on the heat indicator told me that their energy truly 'appeared' out of nowhere! Or at least transferred from another dimension in a way unknown to the Zeta Empire!"

"Unbelievable! A bunch of primitives mastered energy from a higher dimension! Driven by curiosity about the unknown, with nothing else to do, I tried to translate their language and communicated with them in the guise of a divine being, learning about the existence of Extraordinary Power from them. And this so-called Extraordinary Power was even more astonishing than I initially imagined... It seems to be a spiritual force field that exists across all dimensions and is entirely determined by consciousness!"
