The Lord Demon King is Unfathomable!

Chapter 204: The Presumptuous Baron_3

The crackling gunfire rang out from the woods, but the volley of bullets seemed to hit a wall, all blocked without exception.

Meanwhile, Princess Erin's personal guards immediately grouped into a defensive formation, their chest armor shining with a blue light, and the lances in their hands pointed frostily at the enemy.

Luo Yan glanced at Theresa unexpectedly.

He previously only knew this guard was silver-level in strength, but now he speculated that the classification of Extraordinary Power might not fully encompass her capabilities.

The Life Professional Players from the Great Graveyard were the first to launch an attack, a Little Demon flew up in an attempt to use Spiritual Magic to disrupt the cavalry's formation, but was blocked by a Protective Barrier released by a trusted aide.

This was not the end, as a cavalryman raised his Nail Head Hammer, and the gem embedded in the hilt emitted a sacred light.

"Holy Sanction!" the cavalryman shouted, a milky white light blasted at the airborne Little Demon like an iron fist.

The Little Demon screamed miserably, emitting green smoke, dropping a line "I'll be back," before falling into the woods like a scorched bat.

The regular army of the Campbell Duchy was indeed extraordinary, their strength far surpassing that of the ragtag fighters from the Baron Territory of Silver Pine Town.

Luo Yan estimated, referencing the Warhammer setting, that Ges Baron's troops were probably around Barto's old farmer's level, whereas Princess Campbell's personal guards were at least "Holy Grail Knights," and were a mixed magic-weapon corps.

Confronting such an armed force, the Life Professional Players under him were indeed no match, after all, they shared the same ecological niche as Barto's old farmer.

However—

Just relying on two hundred people to capture Beifeng City was a bit naive; his hand held more than just these cards.

Moreover, his players were undead.

Even if these two hundred cavalrymen were exhausted, they could never kill them all.

To prevent suspicion from Princess Erin, Luo Yan did not entirely spectate, casually releasing fireballs to shoot down some players attempting to drop bombs over his head.

At this moment, a cavalryman urged his warhorse into the enemy formation.

His lance, empowered by Magic Power, pierced through three skeleton soldiers, causing the warhorse to kick up large amounts of snow and earth, pushing more enemies back.

However, to his horror, the demons he had knocked away were not afraid but rather let out excited shouts.

Just then, blades of fire and ice spikes flew from the forest, hurtling towards the cavalryman like arrows from a bow.

"Holy Barrier!"

Erin shouted, pointing a sheathed sword skyward, a golden barrier descended from above, covering the front of her Personal Guard, blocking most of the magic.

The cavalryman glanced gratefully at her, preparing to pull the reins and return to the formation when vines suddenly rose from the ground, tripping the warhorse's legs.

"Whoa—!"

The warhorse let out a startled neigh, kicking its hind legs backward fiercely, almost throwing the cavalryman off.

"Everyone dismount!"

Theresa immediately shouted, flipping off her horse and swinging her sword to cut through the vines creeping along the ground.

Standing in the forest, Helen watched her expressionlessly, her Dual Hand Sticks faintly glowing green, prompting thick vines like pythons to continue growing towards the cavalry unit.

Theresa quickly spotted Helen, brandishing her sword and charging, but was soon forced back by arrows shooting from the forest.

Seeing the arrows emitting black aura hit the tree trunk, Theresa's eyes squinted slightly, looking towards another direction in the woods, seeing a Dark Night Elf pulling a bow and arrow, eyes provocatively fixed on her, as if saying 'come over.'

"Petty tricks." Theresa sneered, grasping her Protective Talisman at her chest, golden runes quickly coating her armor in gold.

Sherry's expression changed slightly, immediately releasing the bowstring, yet before her arrows could reach, the Heavy Armor-clad Female Knight had instantaneously appeared before her.

"Oh my, so fast—"

On the other side, waves of skeletons had clashed with the dismounted cavalry, engaging in close combat!

Although these skeletons were not particularly strong, their numbers were immense, seemingly endless!

Her trusted aides, while not easy to deal with, were still human, with finite stamina and Transcendent powers.

"Hold on! Reinforcements are en route!" Erin Campbell shouted, gritting her teeth as she drew her Legendary Sword.

Luo Yan's pupils slightly contracted, unexpectedly seeing her draw this weapon so close to him.

Bathing in sacred light, wielding the "Light of Praise," Erin Campbell seemed transformed, radiating holy light all over.

The surrounding undead and Little Demons visibly slowed and stiffened as if burdened by a tightened spring.

The holy light flickered away, and Erin returned to her usual self, only her aura changed from before.

Meanwhile, her Personal Guards appeared blessed by the sacred light, with wounds rapidly healing visibly and bodies filled with endless strength.

Luo Yan silently pondered.

He seemed to not fully understand the "Light of Praise," not realizing it was not like a Vampire that drained the user's essence upon drawing it.

Aaron Campbell must have activated a particular function; normal usage would not excessively deplete the user's life potential.

At least not for young Erin.

As he contemplated, a dense fog spread in the forest, accompanied by wind-chime-like laughter.

"Giggle... How amusing. I didn't expect Aaron Campbell would give his treasured sword to a little girl, I thought I was mistaken, but it turned out to be true."

Feeling the hostile intent, Erin gazed at the surrounding mist sternly.

"Who goes there!"

"Qianqian."

The thick fog suddenly parted, revealing the petite figure perched on the treetop.

The white dress with red ribbons fluttered in the fierce cold wind, revealing fiery red shoulder-length hair under eyes of enchanting red.

If not for the slightly protruding horns on her forehead, the tail swaying behind her, and the folded bat wings, she would look no different from a human girl, except a bit smaller.

Erin abruptly looked up, meeting her gaze.

Hatred.

Killing intent.

Blood thirst.

And... jealousy?

Erin couldn't help but doubt her vision.

She could understand other emotions, knowing Hell and surface humans were irreconcilable foes, but jealousy puzzled her; after all, it was their first meeting.

Nonetheless, the enemy's feelings held no importance to her, she cared only for the citizens of Campbell Duchy.

Taking a deep breath, Erin gripped her sword tightly, fixating on the Little Demon sitting on the treetop, declaring her identity.

"Erin Campbell, daughter of Aaron Campbell, no matter how many times you demons resurrect, I will decapitate you with the light Saint Sis bestowed upon me."

"Is that so?"

Qianqian raised her left hand in a yawn, her right hand lifting her skirt in a slight bow, a sinister smile subtly tugging at her concealed lips.

"Then try it, if you dare."
