The Lord Demon King is Unfathomable!

Chapter 197: The Steel Behemoth of the Great Graveyard_2

The atmosphere between the two sides was tense, as if a fight could break out at any moment.

Unlike the high society on the surface.

Brute force and fierce battles were the norms in the Underworld.

Especially between the Dwarves and Earth Cave Spiders who often clashed; this was already the friendliest greeting between them.

Just as the Dwarf and the Spider were in a standoff, a lazy voice suddenly drifted over from not far away.

"Lord Demon King isn't here these days, do you have any business with him?"

Upon hearing the voice from behind, the Hell Dwarf immediately turned around, only to see a Little Demon flapping its wings, floating in mid-air.

The cold indifference written in those crimson eyes showed that this lady was not in a good mood.

Moreover, the key point was that her power far exceeded that of the stupid spider in front of her.

Reading a hint of danger from that warning gaze, the emissary from Catastrophe Castle instantly shrank his neck and restrained the arrogance on his face.

Brutality was the norm among the creatures of Hell, but bullying the weak and fearing the strong was too; the two things were not contradictory.

The Hell Dwarf cleared his throat, changed his tone, and mumbled.

"I'm Doko Brownbeard, an emissary from Your Majesty Steelbone! Catastrophe Castle needs food, and we want to buy some from you. We can pay with goblin or ratmen slaves, or do you need furs and ironware? Your Demon King promised to help us... Surely he can't go back on his word."

Hearing that vague sarcasm, Qianqian slightly squinted her eyes, a mocking smile playing on her lips.

"Oh? This is the first time I've heard of such an agreement... But if that's the case, why didn't we see you when we were facing the threat of Chaos?"

The Hell Dwarf was momentarily at a loss for words, stammering.

"Um, we also have all kinds of difficulties... including threats from Chaos. You know, Brass Pass is closer to us. We've taken in quite a few Dwarf refugees from over there recently, so..."

Seeing the Hell Dwarf emissary unable to utter a complete sentence, Qianqian did not continue to trouble him, only yawning as she said.

"I'm only here to watch the place for Lord Demon King and can't reply on his behalf, but if your intention is just to buy some food, I think the market in Beifeng City should meet your needs. No need to bother the great one over such a small matter."

"Beifeng City?" The Hell Dwarf's eyes lit up, hurriedly asking, "How do I get there? Is it far from here?"

"Far? It's on the surface, just go out through the mine, hmm... and the roasted sweet potatoes there are quite good. I personally recommend them."

As she spoke, Qianqian looked towards Alakdo with an instructive tone and said.

"Find a place for this emissary to stay."

Alakdo didn't like this bat at all, especially since she recently treated this place as her home, often coming to mooch food and drink, claiming that Lord Demon King had asked her to help look after the place.

What nonsense!

Clearly, one guard dog was enough!

Unfortunately, he knew that his fists were not as big as hers, and in hell, strength spoke for itself, so he had to swallow his anger.

"Yes."

Having said that, Alakdo turned around, swaying his large behind as he headed towards the stairs leading to the North Peak Mine.

"Follow me, emissary of Catastrophe Castle. The terrain here is more complicated than you think. Don't take the wrong path and be mistaken for a wild monster by the nearby guards."

Brownbeard sneered at these words.

"Heh, rest assured, our Dwarves' sense of direction is surely stronger than you spiders who only dig around underground!"

"Is that so?"

Alakdo gave a cold laugh, but in his heart, he had another plan. So he deliberately avoided the main road, instead taking a detour through the labyrinthine tunnels of Beifeng Mountain to the "Undead Forest Miners' Test Site."

The horrors of that place were well-known across the Demon King Territory.

Although he had never been there himself, his engineering spider subordinates had told him about it, saying that whenever the loud rumbling arose, the pitch-black demonic fog would fill the entire cavern, leaving no life where it passed.

If, by chance, one were to die there, it is doubtful the Hell Dwarves of Catastrophe Castle would have anything to say about it.

Such things might sound absurd in human society above ground, but in the Underworld, they were as common as eating and burping.

Brownbeard followed Alakdo for a while, and as he walked, he began to sense something amiss, murmuring a question.

"Why do I feel we're taking a roundabout way?"

"How could that be? We're almost at the surface."

Alakdo chuckled, estimating the time was about right, and quickened his pace crawling forward.

And just as Brownbeard was puffing along behind him, a thunderous bang erupted in the cave.

Hearing that earth-shaking noise, Brownbeard's face changed instantly, shouting at the Earth Cave Spider leading the way ahead.

"What did you do?"

"We're almost at the exit." Alakdo tossed back a sentence and then, with near-sprinting speed, darted through the tunnel like a silhouette in motion.

He wasn't lying; they were indeed near an exit.

However, this wasn't the usual exit for people but rather the passage used by the undead miners to get in and out of the Great Graveyard, a place almost devoid of any living proximity.

Before Brownbeard could realize it, boiling black smoke surged through the entire cave, causing him to squawk and shout incoherently.

While he cursed and coughed, searching for an exit in the dark cave, something suddenly tripped him, sending him tumbling to the ground like a fallen barrel of ale.
