The Lord Demon King is Unfathomable!

Chapter 184: Inhumane Demon King_4

As for why such a prestigious guest would appear in the outskirts of Thunder City, he had no idea, nor did he dare to inquire.

"Mr. Colin... May I address you that way? Forgive my presumption, I don't know your title."

Luo Yan casually responded.

"Call me whatever you like."

Perhaps sensing the impatience in that voice, Punk finally shut his mouth, remaining silent for the rest of the journey until the carriage left the bustling industrial district, navigated a few twists and turns, and entered a clean, orderly street.

This area was sharply different from the previous neighborhoods. Not only were the streets clean and tidy, but they also featured kerosene street lamps, which were absent elsewhere.

The snow here had been swept away, leaving the streets paved with stone bricks that reflected the light, appearing polished and slick, as if meticulously smoothed.

Passersby strolled in groups of three and two, some draped in heavy wool coats, others wearing velvet padded jackets, walking with poise and elegance, though many preferred to ride in carriages.

Punk, driving his carriage, felt entirely out of place with his surroundings.

Both he and his carriage.

Especially when he noticed the patrolling guards frequently casting glances his way, the expression on his face grew increasingly uneasy.

Gulping nervously, Punk glanced behind him and asked softly.

"Mr. Colin, we've arrived at Queen Street... May I ask which hotel you intend to stay at?"

Luo Yan replied patiently.

"Whichever one you think is the most expensive—stop in front of it."

Punk couldn't help but laugh bitterly upon hearing those words.

This was his first time visiting this area, so how would he know which hotel was the priciest?

His gaze swept along the street, eventually settling on an opulent-looking hotel. Gritting his teeth, he steered the carriage toward it.

Its gleaming sign was adorned with artistic lettering spelling out "Embrace of Dawn," and lines of attendants in wool coats stood outside the hotel lobby like streetlamps.

Seeing the shabby carriage parked at the entrance, the attendants' faces all showed noticeably peculiar expressions.

As for Punk, the coachman, he had already started curling his toes in embarrassment, wishing he could abandon the carriage and run away.

One attendant approached the side of the carriage.

Although he strongly suspected the two guests in the carriage must have lost their way, he still spoke in a polite and measured tone.

"Honorable gentlemen, may I inquire if you've reserved a room?"

Luo Yan: "No."

The attendant's smile stiffened slightly but remained courteous and composed as he replied.

"Apologies, gentlemen, we only accommodate guests who've reserved rooms ahead of time—"

Before he could finish his sentence, a gold coin bounced onto his chest. Before the Emperor's profile could land in the snow, he instinctively bent down and cradled it with unprecedented speed.

"...Sir?"

Seeing the attendant's face filled with shock and even excitement, Luo Yan, seated in the carriage, spoke in a tone that was gentle yet authoritative.

"This is your tip. Now, fetch your manager for me and tell him I rather like his hotel. Let him name a price—I intend to buy this place."

With the heavy gold coin in his hands, the attendant couldn't bring himself to utter the word "no." With a face full of eagerness, he hurriedly said "Please wait, sir," before dashing off toward the hotel lobby as though every second wasted would be unforgivable.

Punk, the coachman, watched his retreating figure with a mix of envy and jealousy before turning his gaze back to Mr. Colin inside the carriage, his pupils blazing with a fervent heat.

Sarah frowned slightly, clearly displeased by the man's gaze.

However, recalling Lord Demon King's instructions prior to their departure, she suppressed her discomfort and refocused her attention on her surroundings, continuing to play the role of a quiet, invisible person.

But interestingly enough, the true "invisible person" was the one who couldn't stay calm this time. Staring at Luo Yan in surprise, Youyou quietly asked.

"Lord Demon King, what are you doing?"

Luo Yan smiled faintly and responded in his heart to Youyou's question.

"As you saw."

"I'm greeting the citizens of Thunder City in their favorite way."

In a manner completely unlike Erin Campbell.

(After being "one-eyed" for several days, the discomfort of longing has persisted, but oddly enough, the typos have decreased. Quite miraculous indeed...)
