The Lightning Dragon In Harry Potter

Chapter 148: Collapsed Tom Riddle

"Long time no see, Tom !"

Luke's voice echoed through the silent basement, catching Tom's attention. He looked up and immediately recognized the little wizard with brilliant blonde hair.

"Luke Geralt?" Tom's handsome features twisted with rage. This was the first time in his life that he felt such a strong urge to kill someone. Luke Geralt had deceived him, learning not only ordinary spells and alchemy but even the three Unforgivable Curses.

Although he couldn't see Luke's face through the diary, the familiar tone confirmed his identity.

"That's right, it's me, Tom ." Luke nodded with a smile and began descending the stairs.

Behind Tom, Ronald lay on the ground, unconscious but still breathing.

"I'm sorry that our plastic friendship ended like this, but I must say, you teach people a lot better than Lockhart." Luke's voice was soft, almost admiring.

Tom, unfamiliar with who Lockhart was, bristled at Luke's casual tone. He pointed Ronald's wand at his own head, fury threatening to spill over.

"You have the guts to say that, Luke Geralt!" Tom's voice was a sneer, barely containing his anger. "I always considered you a friend, but what did you do? You used my trust and then discarded me without hesitation!"

Tom calmed himself, his wand now aimed at the unconscious Ronald. "When I asked you about Voldemort's fate, you just closed the diary and ignored me!"

"Don't say that, Tom ," Luke said, standing on the water-stained floor and looking at Tom with a mix of friendliness and regret.

"After all, you used the Confusion Charm to control me from the beginning. Don't we both distrust each other?"

Hearing this, Tom retracted his wand and looked silently at the second-year wizard before him. He had underestimated the wizard's sensitivity to magic.

"You didn't kill me—Fiendfyre?"

Before Tom could finish his words, he saw Luke raise his wand, and a scorching hot flame emerged.

How did he know that the Fiendfyre Charm could destroy Horcruxes?

Tom's eyes widened in disbelief.

"Don't be surprised. I always know more than you think," Luke said, shaking off the Fiendfyre on his wand and looking at Tom with a chuckle.

"You're going to use the spell I taught you against me?" Tom gritted his teeth.

This Fiendfyre spell was taught by Luke, and everything was done to gain the trust of this little wizard with dark wizard talent. But what happened? The result is that he's being destroyed with the Fiendfyre spell he taught.

He couldn't help laughing.

What noble aristocratic temperament, what elegant words and deeds—when facing this wizard, he abandoned them all.

"You're fit to be a dark wizard, Geralt! You and Lockhart must have a common language."

Luke shrugged helplessly. He didn't understand why people always said that he was suitable to be a dark wizard. It was nothing more than giving Lockhart an immortal body and deceiving Tom for knowledge. How does that make him evil? It's all slander.

Tom didn't want to continue wrangling with Luke; he just wanted to torture him to death with the Cruciatus Curse as soon as possible. This kind of wicked person must be dealt with severely!

"Avada Kedavra!"

The wand in Tom's hand waved, and a dark green light shot from Ronald's wand, aiming fiercely at Luke.

Looking at the dark green light coming towards him, Luke seemed unhurried. A burst of golden thunder light erupted from his body, and before the Killing Curse could touch him, Luke turned into a lightning bolt and flashed to the side.

This was the simplest form of materialized thunder elementalization of Thunder Dragon Slayer magic.

Luke's reflexes were sharp, and he dodged the incoming spell with an agility that left Tom stunned. The golden flash of lightning that accompanied Luke's movements was unlike anything Tom had ever seen, especially as it seemed to evade the Killing Curse. This kind of spell-breaking maneuver was unprecedented for him.

Tom, in disbelief, couldn't help but shout, "Is this a spell you developed yourself?"

Luke, with a calm demeanor, replied, "Ah, so be it." He nodded, acknowledging the unique nature of his abilities. After all, dragon slayer magic was not something from this world.

Tom fell silent, clearly grappling with the reality that he was facing a wizard with remarkable talent, far beyond typical spells—it was magic in its purest form. The temptation to use the Cruciatus Curse to torment Luke was strong, but he knew he had to be strategic.

Luke, seeing Tom's hesitation, taunted him, "So, Tom , is this all you can do?" He stepped forward, his confidence unwavering.

Tom, not one to be outmaneuvered, raised his wand towards Ronald, who was still in his grasp. "Geralt! You don't want your friend to die, do you?" he threatened, hoping to leverage the situation to his advantage.

The threat made Luke pause, a faint smile playing at the corners of his lips. He knew that Ronald was being used as a pawn, but Tom's threat wasn't the only card he had to play. Tom's eyes flickered with a sense of triumph, believing he had found a way to control the situation.

However, there was something Tom hadn't anticipated. He had hoped to use the basilisk as his trump card, a creature capable of killing with just a gaze. But something was wrong with the basilisk's eyes; they weren't functioning as they should. All day, Tom had been puzzled by the basilisk's condition, particularly the strange scarlet scythe-like shapes in its eyes. Even without its deadly gaze, the basilisk was still a formidable creature with lethal fangs.

Tom's confidence grew as he thought about the basilisk, seeing it as his final chance. A smile crept onto his face as he addressed Luke. "Geralt, the last thing you should have done was come to this place! Welcome to Salazar Slytherin's Chamber of Secrets!"

Luke was momentarily taken aback, then remembered the presence of the basilisk. So, this was Tom's final move, his ultimate trump card.

"Is that the ace up your sleeve, Tom Riddle?" Luke mused, readying himself for whatever came next.
