Chapter 308: Chapter 307: First’s True Inheritance
"Hmm" First's voice was very calm and soothing and soon, Lu Zheng was absorbed in it that he lost consciousness of what was going on around him. "The time has come for me to give you my inheritance"
"Your inheritance?" Lu Zheng was surprised but First did not answer directly. Lu Zheng felt his psyche being drawn as his Sea of Consciousness flowed into his aperture.
From his aperture, it rushed into the fragmented Qi fruit like crashing tides of a sea.
The fragmented Qi fruit's inside was like a world of rolling clouds. The clouds rolled around without direction and everywhere one looked, they would only see clouds.
Lu Zheng's Sea of Consciousness gathered into a form. It was naturally Lu Zheng's form.
He looked around and was stunned: "Such strong Essence!"
The clouds that rolled around him were actually great clusters of pure Essence. The Essence was extremely pure that it was not tainted by the auras of other paths at all.
Lu Zheng was certain that the Essence the fragmented Qi fruit contained was indeed near infinite.
The clouds parted and Lu Zheng felt a gentle force pull him towards the direction open by the clouds. He did not struggle and simply followed the path.
After some time of flying, he reached a wall. Calling it a wall was a severe understatement.
The wall was extremely large that Lu Zheng was no more than a speck before it. It extended for a large distance that his mind could not comprehend.
"Infinity" Lu Zheng's mouth was dry. He regarded the wall and was surprised. Before him was a grand diagram like a spider web that spiralled outwards. His features lit up: "Primordial Spirit Vein"
"Lu Zheng, have you ever heard of will path?" First's voice echoed in his mind again.
Lu Zheng looked around him. It was like his voice came from everywhere. It was in his mind, amongst the clouds, and even within the wall.
"What is that?" Lu Zheng was curious. He had never heard of will path in all his life.
"Hehe. It is only natural" First chuckled and continued to speak. "Will path is a great Dao that relies on the martial practitioner's thoughts and will to provide strength beyond mere reasoning. Take an example like this. You are a mortal living in a simple village with your clansmen in a time of peace…"
Lu Zheng's eyes were closed and he was absorbed in First's story. He could see it clearly.
He was a young boy, barely sixteen years old. His appearance was mundane and his features were nothing that stood out of the crowd.
"Jun De, what are you doing daydreaming?" A warm tender voice woke Lu Zheng from his reverie.
He turned his head and regarded the woman. She was short and slender with fine brown hair that draped down her shoulders. When he looked at her, he felt strong feelings of love and care sweep through him.
With a glance, he could tell that she was his mother.
"Ah mama, do not mind me. I was only thinking of the supper you will prepare for us" The boy whose name was Jun De replied. Lu Zheng was not in control of this body, he was merely within it and saw from its perspective.
"Hmm. If you long for supper so greatly, you should take care to finish with what you are doing" Jun De's mother smiled. Her smile was warm as she walked away into the house.
Jun De looked around, as if showing Lu Zheng the place. He sat outside beneath the protective shade of a bamboo pergola. The pergola was built with strong bamboo stalks and roofed with the thin leaves of a palm tree. Wind blew into the pergola into Jun De's face that he had to protect it from dust.
He cleared his eyes and looked at the small stone house he lived in with his mother. She was his only family after his father died when he was only two years old. They were poor and only ate rice and noodles but today was his sixteenth birthday and she decided to prepare his favourite food.
"Sweet and sour pork!" Jun De relished the mere thought of the food as he washed the plates before him. The food was the greatest thing he had ever tasted and when his mother made it, it was even more delicious.
She would cut the pork into thin slices before marinating it, dredging and frying it. The best part was when she added the spices to it and added small drops of alcohol to it.
This was the only time in the year that his mother allowed Jun De to taste alcohol and he relished it greatly.
"I can't wait!" Jun De was gleeful. He was soon done with the plates and pots and went to get his hunting materials. In a few moments, Jun De emerged from the house. He wore simple clothing and held a sharp dagger that he played with. After some time, he kept the dagger in a small pocket in his trousers.
"Alrighty then. Let's get moving"
