The Legendary Junkmaster

Jason sighed heavily as he looked at the skeleton of his personal armour. He was doing the best he could with what he had, but he could already tell that there was plenty of room for improvements. Jason operated his interface to look at his PP count again.

His heart had felt like it was breaking when he had completely emptied it of every point that he had just gained a few days ago. However, what he gained in return was astronomical.

He had elevated his Medium Armour Creation, Electrical Engineering, Biology and Chemistry skills to Apprentice level. On top of that, he had bought the Basic Welding Skill then brought that up to Apprentice level as well.

Surprisingly, after all of that, he had still had a few points left, which he had planned to save. That was until Sentinel advised him to pick up the Basic Computing and Basic Electronic Engineering skills as well. Jason had been dubious about his advice initially, but now he had to agree that Sentinel had been solid with his advice.

The major overhaul to his options after he had completed the downloads had been insane. Giving him a mountain of things that he wanted to make. The soldering machine in his hand began to buzz again as he carefully worked on the electronics that would be added to his helmet.

In just a few more minutes, he would finish the final piece that he needed to complete the prototype first version of what he had dubbed the Infinity armour. Jason had been thrilled at the choice he had made for its name since that was how he felt whenever he looked at it. 

Infinite possibilities ran through his mind, and he could not even fathom where it would lead to in the future as his knowledge increased. Still, he had to reign in his fantasies to try and complete it in time. Every part was now ready for assembly as he finished up fixing the electronic board in his hand into its place and connected it to the wires before sealing the helmet.

Jason gazed at the full helmet that was quite bulky. Its primary colour was dark green, while an orange colour was used as the secondary colour. The more minor parts or tertiary areas had been painted black to tie the colour scheme together. 

Needless to say, this was how every other piece of the external armour had been coloured as well. Jason had to admit that it suited his tastes even if nobody else would agree with him. The tinted black glass visor that would run across his eyes was perfect for making sure that nobody could tell who was the one inside of the Infinity.

He had also chosen to take inspiration from his old gas mask that he had never used. The mouth area jutted outward with a single air filter at the front and two hoses that came out of the sides that would connect to air tanks affixed to the rear of the torso piece.

This way, if the filter failed, the helmet would stop anything from coming through that end and use the air tanks to provide clean air for up to two hours. Jason excitedly connected the helmet to the armour's exoskeleton before rushing to get the torso.

The chest area stood several inches out from where his chest would actually be before coming in tight around his stomach and waist. Inside the metal chest were eight canisters that held different chemicals. These were then connected with transparent hoses that would run down his arms to connect to his gauntlets.

On the left side, canisters held different poisons that could coat the darts for his Dart Gun. While the right side had a new flammable liquid that would ignite as soon as it was exposed to air. This drastically increased the power and lethality of the flamethrower in his right gauntlet.

As Jason fixed this piece to the exoskeleton, he hummed happily as he connected the helmets electronics to the sensors and such in the chest piece. He discovered no issues as he sealed the air hoses to the two sturdy tanks on the back.

Next came his gauntlets that had been lightly modified to be thicker and compatible with the hoses that would deliver the chemicals to them when needed. For the finale, Jason grabbed his boots which again had been lightly modified to make them compatible with the overall weight of his armour.

The mini biofuel engines were now much more stable and robust, but in the end, they ended up having the same performance rating due to the increased strain of the Infinity's weight. The only noticeable difference here was that the metal around the calves had gotten bigger to accommodate the slightly larger engine size and increased fuel capacity needed to make them work.

Jason took a moment to appreciate his prototype. It was at this moment that he truly felt as though anything was possible. However, he did not have time to get lost in just looking at it. He still had to physically test it out before catching a couple of hours of shut-eye. 

It was bad enough that he would already be tired on his first day in training, so he did not want to make it worse. Jason moved around to the rear of the armour. He fumbled with the locking mechanism meant to ensure that the Infinity stayed sealed to prevent any air pollution or gas-based abilities from reaching him on the inside.

As the lock clicked open, the rear torso area lifted upwards on the pistons meant to support the movements of the armour and absorb and shocks. Jason struggled to climb in and make sure his feet did not accidentally rip out any of the loose electrical wires on the inside. 

He simply did not have enough time to create panels for the interior and keep them safe. Once he was safely inside, Jason pushed down on a pedal hidden inside his right boot, which made the Infinity boot up as the hatch on his back slowly closed to seal him inside…
