The Last Monarch : Unlimited Regeneration

Chapter 85: Win

"What is this?" Replica the Angel was shocked.

Just as he was about to cross his arms to block Alvaric's attack, his body was slowly being dragged downward. The blood surrounding him started to stick and pull him down with great force. Every time he tried to free himself, it reappeared—again and again.

Replica the Angel couldn't escape.

"You'll meet your end here!" Alvaric's voice echoed from above. His figure floated mid-air, surrounded by a vortex of spinning blood.

Replica the Angel looked up. "Isn't this unfair? He nearly has everything you once possessed. Meanwhile, I... only have a sword, a magic staff, and... a bit of regeneration."

Replica the Angel looked visibly annoyed. He took a deep breath. Alvaric had already moved his hand.

At the same time, hundreds of blood spears and tendrils had appeared, along with Alvaric, ready to finish it all.

"You will die."

Just as the blood spears were about to strike Replica the Angel, his body suddenly glowed.

A massive explosion occurred. Hundreds of blood spears were deflected—vanished.

The light gradually dimmed, and at the same moment, Replica the Angel's appearance changed. His wings grew larger, his eyes turned crimson with black rings in the center, the sword he held grew in size, and the magic staff in his hand disappeared. In place of the missing staff, a glowing, mysterious script appeared on his hand.

Replica the Angel looked at his hand and smiled. He had become nearly five times stronger than before.

"This time, I won't lose." He looked up to where Alvaric was moments ago—but no one was there. "He's gone."

Just as he turned his head, Alvaric suddenly appeared behind him and swung his sword in a horizontal arc.

Replica the Angel clicked his tongue. "Damn."

SLASH!

Replica the Angel quickly channeled his magic energy toward the direction of Alvaric's swing. Simultaneously, he used his ability to manipulate blood in an attempt to block the slash.

But unfortunately for him, that slash was just a feint.

"I'm right here."

Alvaric appeared from another direction, right in front of Replica the Angel. This strike couldn't be blocked—Replica the Angel had been completely deceived by Alvaric's movements.

Alvaric was using the Eye's of Monarch ability with exceptional mastery.

SLASH!

Replica the Angel's neck was sliced. His head fell. As he attempted to grab it—

Alvaric spun his body and launched another, even faster strike.

"I won't let you."

The head was slashed twice—cut into four pieces. Yet Replica the Angel was still alive.

"Arrrrgh!" he screamed in agony.

Replica the Angel groaned in pain as Alvaric grabbed the remaining head and crushed it.

He leapt, trying to retrieve the last remaining part of his head, but Alvaric destroyed it too.

"Aaaarrrgh! You bastard! I'll kill you!" Replica the Angel raised his hand.

He began casting an incredibly powerful spell—his final magic. It was his last resort.

Boom!

His body exploded. The blast caused a devastating shockwave. The entire area trembled. But even after the explosion, Alvaric was still alive.

His body, though damaged, began regenerating.

"Damn. That still wasn't enough," Replica the Angel cursed.

He gasped for breath, his breathing ragged. Half his body was severely wounded—burned, slashed, and covered in cracks across his hardened skin.

His entire body trembled, barely holding back the pain. While his body could regenerate, the pain shattered his mental stability.

"I... will not lose!" he shouted.

Replica the Angel began chanting. His hands glowed. At the same time, thousands of spears formed from various elements appeared, all aimed toward Alvaric.

"You're going to die!"

Alvaric raised an eyebrow. "You sure you want to use that inside my domain?"

"If I die, I'm taking you with me!" Replica the Angel screamed.

The magic circle flared. Pure elemental energy raged wildly. Replica the Angel unleashed 99% of his power.

Winds blew violently, the blood beneath stirred, and the air grew dense. A black core formed in the center of Replica the Angel's body.

"This explosion will erase everything!" he roared.

He would use every last ounce of strength—an even more powerful blast was forming. He refused to lose. If he had to die, Alvaric would die with him.

But Alvaric simply raised one hand. "You still don't understand. This is my domain. You will not win."

BOOM!

The explosion erupted. Fire, wind, water, and lightning spiraled violently. The ground tore apart. The air turned thick. Thousands of elemental weapons surged toward Alvaric—all aimed in the same direction.

But then...

From within the smoke and devastation came the sound of footsteps. Slow. Calm. Breaking the silence.

Tap... Tap... Tap...

Alvaric appeared. His clothes were in tatters, his body wounded, blood dripping everywhere. Even both his arms were destroyed and hadn't yet healed.

His eyes still glowed—cold and sharper than before.

Replica the Angel stared at him. Half his body was gone. His gaze dimmed. Both of his left arms were completely destroyed. His vision blurred.

"W-Why... why are you still alive?" he muttered.

"I told you..." Alvaric raised his hand. The surrounding blood gathered behind him, forming a massive spear that stretched from sky to earth.

"This is my domain. I can use all the blood here—including to form a barrier stronger than your spell," he said.

The spear glowed a deep crimson. Its tip spun violently. It was aimed at Replica the Angel.

Replica the Angel couldn't move. He knew... he was going to die. His magic and strength were gone. The victory he longed for had vanished. He had been defeated.

"Wait... w-wait! I can—"

"I don't have time."

The spear plunged downward with terrifying speed.

BOOOOMMMM!!!

The ground shattered, striking Replica the Angel's body. For a few seconds, he was able to withstand the attack. But after fifteen seconds, his body couldn't endure it any longer.

The core inside Replica the Angel's chest shattered. At that moment, he began to disintegrate—slowly fading.

Yet in his final moment, he smiled faintly.

"Ah... so I was merely one of the trials created to test the true chosen one," he whispered.

Replica the Angel's body vanished. He was completely gone.

Only Alvaric remained—standing, his left arm still not fully recovered. The final attack from Replica the Angel had been too strong.

Alvaric collapsed, sitting while panting heavily. "Damn. That drained all my strength."
