Chapter 74: Preparations III
The Lunaris city was a third tier city of the Emerald kingdom surrounded by the Bareback mountains in three directions. Below the second tier city, there were villages. Although most people relocate to the cities, some of them remain in the villages as the cost of living is low, and having mortal families, they won’t be able to survive in the cities without a particular set of skills. As for the cities above tier three, they were tier two cities.
There were many tier three cities but only a few second tier cities. Above the second tier cities was the capital of the Emerald kingdom, the Emerald city. The city was covered in greenery and the five families and three sects were located here or in the nearby areas. The nearest city from the Lunaris city was Helas city. The Helas city was in the low tier among the second tier cities. In the Helas city, there were three great clans and the city lord manor with golden core formation realm cultivators. There were three families ruling the city- Brown, Lu, and Thapa.
Among third tier cities, the Lunaris city was among the strongest in the kingdom. If it were reinforcement from the other low tiered cities, that would not be a problem but if it was from high tier cities, they didn’t have to sneak around. Two or three golden core formation realm cultivators would be enough to annihilate the Rijal clan. Well even among the golden core families having more than one golden core cultivator is considered exceptional. Mid golden core stage cultivators were usually found in the middle level second tier cities.
As for the Helas city, there were no mid stage golden core realm cultivators. The highest was the third level of the golden core real which was the city lord. Unlike in the Lunaris city, Helas was a little rich in resources so the royal family increased the military power here. In the previous beast tide, it was the golden core realm cultivator from the military that came to save the city in the end after almost all strong cultivators died. And in the golden core families, there would be more than one half core formation realm cultivators.
So if any golden core family was involved, there was no need to do all this in secrecy. Even with all the trump cards the Rijal clan had, it would be very hard for them to survive. It was a pity that the Rijal clan didn’t have much time. If the war had happened a decade later, the Rijal clan wouldn’t be afraid of a single golden core formation realm cultivator but now it would be hard for just a few members to survive. But if the new faces were from other third tier cities, even if the Rijal clan couldn’t win, they were sure to draw out the war for years.
By then the royal family would be forced to act. If any war between clans dragged out for too long, the royal family would intervene and reap all the profits. Even if the clan is annihilated fast, the royal family would still intervene and reap some profits. But with the situation now, it was unknown what the royal family would do as the internal turmoil had started directly or in the dark. Even if they intervened in the dark, the Rijal clan would be dead so it would make no difference. Punya was standing in the clan hall sighing repeatedly.
He then sent a shadow towards the outpost to inform Radha about the reports and ask her to be prepared for anything. The clan could hold itself with the arrays but if the outpost was lost, the clan would lose most of the middle tier and low tier combat capacity. After sending the shadow he went to the supreme elder’s residence. He hadn’t reported the findings from yesterday till now to the elders and deacons. He knew there was a mole so he wanted to do most of the preparations in the dark as long as he could.
When he went to the supreme elder’s residence there was no one present. He then sent a message to his parents and Amrit. Amrit, after breaking through the second grade spirit chef had slowed down his cooking practice. The herbs had become scarce in the city and it was best to preserve food in these situations. So Amrit only prepared dinner and breakfast. In his free time, he would ponder on the cultivation and battle in the illusion array. He had become quite fond of fighting. Fighting with your life on line with strong opponents who could match your every move added the thrill his previous life didn’t include.
He could heal easily here and with his cultivation technique and the spirit energy gathering array, he was almost a perpetual killing machine. Except for cooking breakfast and dinner as well as recovering from mental fatigue, Amrit didn’t rest at all. He was fighting opponents all the time and had improved tremendously. Although he knew he couldn’t break through the foundation building realm in a month or two it didn’t mean his battle prowess had reached a bottleneck too. Every little improvement counts in a battle, Amrit had begun to realize that.
As he was training, his jade slip vibrated, just as his concentration was divided a claw mark appeared on his chest bringing a large amount of blood and huge pain. He then paused the array and checked the jade slip. It was from his father asking him to be present in the waiting room. With a flip of his hand, he deactivated the array and the beast along with claw marks on his chest and the pain disappeared.
The function of the illusion arrays was just to show vision and confuse opponents. Every pain inflicted here was only to fool the senses, if you don’t add a killing array, every injury or even death will only be a memory. But if you used the killing array in the illusion array, the injuries inflicted by the killing array will be real. Since it was just for training, Keshab just used the illusion array. After deactivating the array, Amrit went outside the hall and found that his grandparents were also exiting their rooms.
He nodded to both of them as a form of greeting and went upstairs to the waiting room. When they reached there they found that Punya was already sitting on the chair eating leftovers. The three could only sigh looking at him. For him to call them this early, there must be some sort of emergency but he was eating here without care for the world.
