The last Asura Sovereign

Chapter 112: Changes in the Battlefield

Amrit was confused a little bit. It had been more than an hour and a half since the attack on the formation happened and many of the members on both sides had died. But the higher-ups on both sides were still on standoff. Very few of them were engaged in serious battle otherwise it seemed as if they were pretending to attack.

He looked around and saw many of those in qi sensing realm and a few in the foundation building realm dead, their corpses lay bare on the ground and most of these corpses were missing appendages or they were too gory. There was no such thing as respecting the dead on the battlefield. Sometimes the stray attack would hit the corpses and mutilate them even further.

Amrit didn’t know what overcame him but he had a sudden surge of anger coming from his consciousness. He knew that this time it was not from the Asura bloodline as they were born for the battlefield and every member had been to at least thousands of these battlefields in their lifetime. No this was his human side of consciousness that was surged with anger. Although Amrit had experienced and seen a lot of things after transmigrating, the Amrit from the Earth was still there somewhere.

And from where he came, there was a saying of do not talk ill of the dead. You could talk the crap out of them or disrespect them while they were alive but there was a tradition of respecting the dead. Looking at the battlefield, it was more gruesome than the horror movies he used to watch. He had forgotten how he killed Amyas and had named his move Bloody Retribution. He calmed down after a bit because he knew there was nothing he could do at this time.

He would be lucky if he didn’t end up like those corpses on the ground. There was no point in getting angry over the matters that happened on the battlefield as disrespect was the last thing on the mind of cultivators right now. He looked around to find a suitable opponent. He had clashed with both the body path and soul path cultivators. He waved his hand and the halberd came flying towards him. There was no spirituality or anything on the halberd, it was just a bond he had formed with it after imprinting it with his consciousness and the mastery of qi that allowed him to manipulate things that were far from him.

He swung the halberd as a force of habit and dust blew up around him. The slashing motion was perfect and soundless except for the fluttering ribbons on the side. Meanwhile, Keshab was still in the air looking towards the direction of the golden core formation realm cultivator and Punya and Kumari were facing off the ten cultivators, all of them charged with aura ready to battle at a moment’s notice. This had been happening for more than half an hour.

The sword in Punya’s hand was still gleaming with brown light and Kumari’s cauldron was covered in crimson-hued fire. At this moment there was a sudden change in the atmosphere. The golden core realm cultivator slowly came out of the shadow. The figure was around six feet tall and was covered in black.

There was a black cloak melding into darkness and even the starlight and moonlight from the night sky was distorted around him. The robe seemed as if it was swallowing the light of the surroundings. When the cultivator came out from the shadows, he looked at Keshab and smiled with disdain.

The face looked quite young but since golden core formation realm cultivators generally lived up to six hundred years, even three hundred old ones would appear to be in their prime. Other than half of the face, everything was covered by the cloak. The aura emanated from the cultivator was hidden but it appeared dreadful to anyone who could sense it.

The expression of Keshab and other Rijal clan higher-ups changed while looking at the golden core formation cultivator. The cultivator was walking on the air as if it were a ground. This was the true symbol of the golden core formation realm, being free of the cultivation world’s gravity just by willing it. After the dramatic entrance, he stood in the air for a few seconds and revealed his face. His facial structure was just average in the cultivation world, well average there meant top level in Earth.

He had black hair and shared similarity to the unknown cultivators standing in the sky. He was clearly the leader of these cultivators. Keshab looked at the cultivator and asked “Why is senior from the Thapa clan interfering with the matters of the Lunaris city? Do you not fear this will give an excuse to the royal family?” Looking at Keshab, the golden core formation realm cultivator of the Thapa clan smirked and said “The matters of our Thapa clan are not for the ants like you to be concerned with. Even with the war, we will handle ourselves. I heard you have complete inheritances for many auxiliary professions in your clan. If you hand them over nicely, I will spare the young ones.”

Keshab looked at the golden core formation realm cultivator with a solemn expression and felt that few things were cleared up. He now knew why the Thapa clan had intervened. Although the two clans could pool up their resources together to invite cultivators from the Thapa clan, with the situation going on capital, the Thapa clan wouldn’t move without something precious. And that precious thing turned out to be the inheritances of the auxiliary profession.

This was the reason they had limited the inheritance knowledge in the Skill pavilion but the previous mountain protecting array must have given the Thapa clan final confirmation that the Rijal clan had more than they had shown. There must have been some leakage from the clan with substantial proof for the Thapa clan to send a golden core formation realm cultivator.

The Thapa clan that came this time was one of the major families of the second-tier city called Helas. This was also the nearest second-tier city to the city of Lunaris. Actually, the Thapa clan in Helas was a branch family of the Thapa clan in the capital. According to the news Keshab had heard, the Thapa clan in Helas had two cultivators in the golden core formation realm. They were pretty much the rulers of the Helas city after the City lord’s mansion.

Other than Thapa other clans didn’t have two cultivators in the golden core formation realm. One was named Saroj Thapa who was around one hundred and thirty years old and had just broken through to the golden core formation realm and another was Basanta Thapa, a veteran around five hundred years old.
