Chapter 107: Battle
Amrit looked at the place where his grandfather was. Keshab was still standing at the same place looking towards the same direction. He was waiting for the golden core formation realm cultivator to make a move first. There was a palpable tension building around Keshab. Even the air near him was quivering. Amrit then looked towards the location of his father and grandmother. They were still hovering in the air.
The sword in Punya’s hand was clad in his qi and was ready for attack but both sides were not making the first move. They were still gauzing the strength of their opponents. Little bit of time had passed since their first stand-off but no one had made their first move. The reason for Punya and Kumari was that they wanted to stall as much time as they could so they could keep the ten strongest cultivators in check.
If those ten cultivators started slaughtering on the battlefield below, there would be no clan members left to defend against them. As for the ten cultivators, they were waiting for the command of the golden core formation realm cultivators. Although the four people from the two clans could act on their own, the remaining wouldn’t follow their orders.
It would be embarrassing if the guests started playing the role of host. Amrit looked around and saw most of the cultivators were engaging in the battle. He hadn’t seen Radha or the Battle hall members engaging in the battle. After protecting the node, they had silently slipped into the darkness of the night. The casualties were increasing on both sides. There were a lot of corpses of qi sensing realm cultivators and few of the foundation building realm had died.
From the start, most of the cultivators had engaged in battle with opponents of similar realms. But the number of cultivators on the opponent side was greater even after the death of almost half of the foundation building cultivators. As for the auxiliary professionals, they were still going strong. They were utilizing whatever knowledge they had on the battlefield.
The beasts from the beast taming department were still battling the cultivators, they were occasionally killing a cultivator or two. As Amrit was watching them battle, one of them was sent by flying by a cultivator of the Visigoth clan. The cultivator was three meters tall and had a robust body. The sheen of jade-like white was seen flowing occasionally on his body. He was fighting the beast with his bare hands. Amrit looked towards him and recognized the person.
His name was Amyas, a middle stage foundation building cultivator of the body path. He was the same age as Punya and was one of the strongest people of their generation. He had been in the middle stage of the foundation building realm for quite a while. He was laughing and thrashing the beast here and there. Amrit hadn’t found an opponent to go all out so he planned to battle Amyas next. But before that, he planned to hide his face.
If the young master of the clan was fighting toe to toe with such a strong cultivator in the middle of the battlefield, he was bound to draw some attention. He should have done so previously; it would have made matters much simpler. No one would suspect that there was a cultivator under twenty who could kill the foundation building realm cultivator. And since he didn’t go out much, most of the people in the city wouldn’t be able to recognize him clearly. He ripped what was left of the left sleeve and made a makeshift mask to cover his nose and mouth.
Although people close to him would recognize him from just one look at his aura, this wouldn’t be a problem as long as he didn’t become the center of attention. He ran towards Amyas with a crimson-red aura gathered on his fist. Amyas had just beaten back a middle-stage grade-two beast from the Rijal clan when a fist carrying a tremendous force approached him at great speed. Instead of getting shocked or angry at the surprise attack, he clashed his fists together to meet the incoming fist. His fist covered in gray white aura clashed with the crimson-red fists.
The shockwaves began to create dust everywhere. Most of the foundation building cultivators were hovering in the air with their weapons and using skills for battle but the body cultivators were fighting on the ground. After reaching the foundation building realm, one can use their weapons or other tools to hover in the air. Although flying on the weapons for long distances would consume a lot of qi, just hovering in the air didn’t use much of the qi.
Only when someone breaks through the golden core formation realm can they truly fly on the air with their thought. They wouldn’t have to spend a bit of their qi to just hover but for long distance, the qi usage is determined by the techniques used. Body cultivators preferred to battle on the ground because there was a lot of movement involved while fighting, so hovering in the air would only cost extra qi. It was not worthwhile.
As Amrit and Amyas clashed, the beast that was sent flying wanted to join the fray but Prithvi who was commanding those beasts recognized his aura and ordered the beast to fight other cultivators. Although Prithvi didn’t know how strong Amrit was, judging from the fist power, he seemed strong enough to fend off most of the cultivators here. He was surprised at first because of the strength Amrit had shown but he remembered his grandparents were supreme elders, and his father was a clan leader, with the new inheritances coming on the clan there may have been something else the supreme elders found that elevated the fighting strength of Amrit.
From his aura, he was still in the qi sensing realm so Amrit had probably ingested some treasure to enhance his body. Although rare those cases were not unheard of, there were even a few legends regarding such cases. But most of these things came with a price. There was no freebie in this world. Prithvi focused his attention on the beasts commanding them to use their attack and collaborate in tearing their enemies apart.
As for himself, he was battling an initial stage foundation building realm cultivator. His strength was on the bottom tier without the beasts. Meanwhile, Amrit and Amyas were starting to battle with all their might. The advantage of body path cultivators was the huge stamina and fast recovery. If they didn’t use techniques that consumed a lot of their aura they could clash for the whole night. If not for the lack of long-range attacks and low soul power, the body path would be invincible among the three cultivation paths.
