The King of Demon World

Yusuke Yurameshi is the hero of this story he just doesn't know it yet also he will never be able to imagine that life will ever get better for him given his circumstances but they do eventually Yusuke was born on October 30th 1985 his father came from a wealthy influential family they weren't royals in Japan but in China due to the long standing feud between the two nations as well as Yusuke's mother middle class family let's just say that the other royals made him abandon his family before Yusuke was even born and as soon as it was confirmed she was pregnant he disappeared leaving her with a pile of debt that hse could just barely pay.

However due to him treating her like crab all of the time when she found out she was pregnant and everthing that followed after she grew to hate all men she became a master manipulater of them only stayed with them long enough to drain them of their money then move onto the next after that she did the same thing those who tried to blur the lines between man or woman the only one she didn't scam was a true woman she didn't tolerate any other attempts at gender confusion.

While this was going on Yusuke was being raised by the neighborhood around him who would constantly beat him shake him when he cried regardless of age they even broke bones left bruises beat him with rusty pipes everything they could get ahold of when Yusuke turned 4 he finally had enough he started fighting back and lets just say that after that everyone who tried to beat on him ended up in the hospital also with no moral compass at all he started to become a thief he got really good by learning from others.

But it didn't fit what he wanted to do so he went to school he studied everything they had to teach him despite not understanding it he still tried to understand it eventually he moved onto the second grade atleast he's going to next year however this year everything is going to change Yusuke sees a kid playing with a soccer ball that's younger than him at first he ignores the kid until he sees him by the intersection when the crossing lights are going the kid crosses but kicks his ball out into the street accidentally the kid goes to get it.

A red car speeds towards the intersection it's a young couple they're not paying attention they're too busy flirting to notice that there's a kid in the road so when they go to stop when they see the kid they don't even bother to turn not until Yusuke rushes in between the car the ball and the kid he throws the ball away then throws the kid out of the path of the car but because of how hard Yusuke threw him as well as how he landed the kid broke his arm with nothing to do the car hits Yusuke killing him because he couldn't move away fast enough.

Yusuke is thinking about his whole day including that kid when he sees his body he even has a flash back of his death then asks to himself did i die a little girl with a blue dress dark blue hair and a pink ribbon appears then says that's correct he turns to her then says you've got 96 hours she looks at him in shock then asks for what he says to go through your usual schtick that you try to convince some poor schmuck to pass on before i grow bored of it and go over your head she asks are you really 7 years old he says yes i am.

She disappears then heads to spirit world arrives at Koenma's desk with a disturebed look on her face Koenma and Boton see her face then asks what's wrong Sayaka says sir this assignment you've put me on rae you sure that nobody has told him about the supernatural Boton says yes we are everything he knows comes from movies books and video games hardly reliable intel on how we operate Koenma says actually among all of that fiction there's some truth about the supernatural including how to be a ghost how to summon a reaper and how to bring yourself back to life without waiting 60 years or having someone donate life energy to you.

Boton asks how's that possible Koenma says well it works by awakening their spirit energy while they are still dead then have them possess their bodies when we make their bodies glow but it has to happen at midnight or they will have to go with the original method Koenma goes to Earth with Sayaka so she won't have any problems with Yusuke as he can tell that from his file that Yusuke is distrustful of everyone including his own mother.

They arrive back on Earth they see Yusuke in another country in Europe not Asia they find him at the Louvre in France looking at the exhibits Yusuke barely acknowledges their presence but says i've always heard great things about this country from people passing through my town i thought that i'd have more time sightseeing as bearuacracy usually takes forever to get anything done which means that you already have processed my application Koenma sighs then says you're too smart to be a 7 year old Yusuke says when you grow up how i did one of two things happen you either wise up or you die.

Koenma says it looks like even though you wised up as you say you still died Yusuke snorts then asks did you predict that i was going to die today or that the kid was going to run in the street today Koenma sighs then says no i wasn't expecting us to have this meeting for another 11 years also in the scenario we all saw you die was at the hands of either your mother or on of her girlfriends Yusuke says i'm not surprised at that to be honest so what happens now Koenma says well it's 3pm in 9 hours i will bring you back to life.

Also i have an offer for you should you choose to take it Yusuke says i'm listening Koenma says i'm willing to pay you to be what's called a spirit detective it's not just a title you'll get some awesome powers as well as be a cop for spirit world also we will put you up in your own apartment away from your mother so you don't have to worry about dying in your sleep anymore he nods then asks what about school believe it or not i don't want to fall behind could you help me out with it.

Koenma asks what do you mean help you with school you seem plenty smart Yusuke says that maybe so but believe it or not i actually struggled to make it to where i am now in school so i was hoping that you could provide me with a tutor Koenma says that's not a problem but it will be after school just make sure to copy everything down everyday so that the tutor can help you Yusuke says i will also there's one more thing if it's not too much trouble Koenma asks what is it could you find someone to teach me survival skills as well as how to cook.

Koenma says yes that's not a problem i'd be glad to have someone teach you those things Yusuke says if you can deliver on my requests then i'll be this spirit detective thing Koenma says i'll put it in writing as soon as i leave here so you can sight see Koenma hands Yusuke a sheet of paper with countries on it then says while you have the time you should check these out Yuskue smiles then says will do before he leaves Yusuke is met with the most beautiful woman he's ever seen she has blue hair with purple eyes in a pink kimono with a blue sash.

she walks up to Yusuke she says in a melodic bubly voice that her name is Boton he greets her tells her his name she says Koenma told me that i will be not only your escort while you're still a ghost for the next 9 hours but also i will be your spirit detective handler as well as your tutor he nods then asks do you have any offensive abilities she says a few but mostly i use a wide range of support abilities also i'm a stealth expert she says also i'm trained in 3 forms of martial arts he nods.

The first country that they go to is Spain after that they go to Italy then the United States then the Middle East then Egypt finally they go to Greece he asks Boton is it true that the gods existed or was it just stories she says some of them did but others were just that stories to get money or fear or power so they could do certain things at the time he nods then asks how come the gods aren't around now she silently asks Konema for permission he tells her it's okay she says that most of humanity at one time used to worship the gods everyday.

They used to asks them for everything from a new child to winning a war pretty much like they do the current GOD in Christianity but like with him at first all of those gods including him were real hands on in the beginning answered every prayer they even helped stop every conflict no matter what it was but eventually we humans began to depend on them so much that we forgot how to take care of ourselves so all of the gods formed a sacred covent that.

"Mankind would fend for themselves all gods both major or minor are prohibited from directly intervening in mortal affairs less they face heavy penalties however indirectly interevening in mortal affairs is fine just don't make it obvious and any and all supernaturals must be contained also the natural order must be maintained those that fail to do so must be eliminated"

Yusuke is in awe that there's something like that in existence he asks are you guys under that as well she says yes we are which is why we must take care in choosing which people will join our ranks so the fact that Konema is choosing you is because Yusuke cuts her off by saying is that i'm young enough that i don't have anything coloring my view on anything also you guys can program me to your way of thinking also if he really does everything i asked for and pays for everything until i graduate high school then i'll be in his debt.

She asks if you can figure that out why do you need me as a tutor Yusuke says when it comes to real world stuff i don't need any help but book learning i struggle i don't understand it either she asks did you read this stuff from a book Yusuke says no i learned everything from movies music video games and eavesdropping on people she nods then says i now understand why you struggle with school work your a kinesthetic learner which means that you learn by doing not by books he says oh i was wondering about that.

She takes him back to his hoome town in Japan he asks why she says we only have 30 minutes until you are brought back to life also your body has been brought to your new apartment he says it's quite nice the apartment he moves into is the one he moves into after the fire in canon only he will be living alone also all of his stuff is here he gets brought back to life the next day Yusuke goes to a location that he was given he heads to the woods then meets Boton there she says okay Yusuke today is May 10th you have until August 10th.

He asks to do what she says i will train you in survival techniques cooking basic self defense everything you covered in kindergarden as well as first grade phsyical exercises and when you are strong enough i'll add weights to your body after you reach a certain level i'll teach you to control and use your spirit energy he nods the first thing she has him do is several different stretches so he can not only get his muscles warmed up but also so he can get more flexible and make himself faster eventually.

After that she has him do squats jumping jacks pushups situps run laps pullups crunches as well as various other workouts she even has him swim in the lake here once she offers him a towl he gets dressed she teaches him how to make his own campfire how to fish how to build traps how to hunt how to cook on the fire how to process what he catches how to sew something she teaches him basic first aid when an animal is caught in one of his traps.

Next she teaches him how to defend himself against enemies which she finds that he's not bad at fighting but his fighting style is more of a brawler than actual fighting so she teaches him a few moves to refine his a little bit next she takes him back to his apartment and they go over his kindergarden stuff she coaches him until dinner time after dinner she reports to Koenma who asks how bad is he in academics she says he's actually not bad he just has trouble with a few things like everyone else also if we keep going like we are he will have everything done by the next school year.

Koenma says good make sure to keep doing what you're doing also if you can try to gain his trust she stops in her tracks then asks why he sighs then says my father is pushing me to have Yusuke trust us she asks why Koenma says he fears that Yusuke will turn on us once he learns everything from us like Sensui did she says i'm not going to do that Koenma smiles then says good you do what you think is right and i'll deal with my father i like Yusuke unlike most people who would be in his position he didn't ask for the universe just the most useful things and he even asked if it was possible that he could have them not demanding that he get them.

Boton says i know i was shocked at what he wanted also Koenma i was wondering when is he going to the academy in spirit world he says 21 years old he will actually be given his first training case in a year she nods then asks when should i start his spirit energy training he says age 9 until then just train him like you would a regular martial artist she nods then thinks for a minute then asks when did you want him to meet Genkai he says when Yusuke is 12.

Over the next two months Yusuke did the same routine he trained and studied until the next school year started during the second grade he met two people Kazuma Kuwabara and Keiko Yukimura he became rivals with Kuwabara and friends with Keiko he liked eating at her parents restaurant also he liked talking to them with Kuwabara he was always interesting to fight and talk to Boton observed every interaction with both people she smiled then helped him with his homework everyday.

During the weekends she would help him with his training like she did during the summer but only on Friday and Saturday Sunday was his rest day she didn't do it throughout the week because she had a job to do but Konema was thinking about making Yusuke her only job until he got older he asks his father if it is possible to do so King Yamma says in a booming voice yes it is but why should i spare a grim reaper of her caliber on a brat such as him Koenma says it's not just an ordinary brat father it's Yusuke.

King Yamma looks at his file then says i will allow it until his 10th birthday after that she must return to her duties Koenma asks what about her handler duties that she has next year King Yamma looks at the rest of Yusuke's file then sighs he looks at his son then says listen Koenma idk what sort of game you're playing here but this child no matter what i say won't become one of us Konema says i don't care if he becomes one of us quite frankly it would be a waste of such a mind if he lowered himslef to such a sorry state.

King Yamma is furious upon hearing that then says with fury and venom what do you mean by that boy Koenma says without any malice or sarcasm the last thing this realm needs is more yes men or sycophants we need people who aren't afraid of you who are willing to tell both us when we are wrong as well as the SDF because lets face it on the last mission they overstepped their mandate as well as the rules of their own handbook in order to finish their assignment.

King Yamma scowls then says you might have a point but you and i exist to rule we have the right to make every decision without having some snot nosed brat challenging everything that we say or do Koenma says i agree to a point but but it can't all or nothing i allow the reapers to input their ideas on things also even the ogres it just depends on what it is because lets face it i don't know everything neither do you so if one of my underlings knows something i don't i will gladly take their advice King Yamma says i understand that and you should because you're still young for our race but i won't.

Koenma says i'm not talking about having Yusuke tell you how to run this realm i'm just saying that in a few years i might actually have to take advice from him he knows much more about the supernatural then he does about the living world King Yamma asks how's that Koenma says we have checked it out all of his information comes to him from vidoe games movies other people music and legends King Yamma says only 25% of all of those things have reliable information Koenma says we know but he seemed to know how his fate would be determined before i even said anything.

King Yamma says well it could be he saw me in a TV show that i did when i was younger so he has an idea of how spirit world runs Koenma says probably so about boton King Yamma says he can have her until he turns 13 without her doing her reaper duties after that she must return to her post Koenma nods then tells Boton about it she smiles in exicitement then asks both of them is there any specific way that they want Yusuke trained because she only knows wing chun taichi and karate also her knowledge on spirit energy is not unlimited.

Koenma says don't worry next year i'll have you come get the detective items as well as the training manual for would be detectives also with some persuasion we can put Yusuke in the police academy in his home town at age 8 she nods then says it can take upto 2 years to graduate Koenma says i know i'm counting on it also detective school takes an additional 2 years Boton says i'll help him through it just like with his regular school.

Koenma signs Yusuke up for both schools ahead of time because there's a waiting list also because of their connections he gets in even with his troubled past because he doesn't have a criminal record also he's turning his life around so they let him in also they agreed to allow Boton to tutor him but not help him cheat boton says she only helps him on homework tests he does in school he's not home schooled the teachers are surprised that Yusuke has a tutuor but are proud/sad that he is seeking outside help at such an early age.

The headmaster at the police academy asks Yusuke why he needs Boton's help he says because i'm not a book learner i'm the other kind he understands as does the principal of Yusuke's school who was listening to them talk the headmaster asks why do you need to register for our academy so early he turns to Boton she answers that after elementary school he will be working for a detective agency that will require him to take on tough cases like every cold case every police department has and in order to qualify for the position he will need to go to school for the job.

Boton says before anyone asks it doesn't have a name yet it's still in the development stage but we already have our eye on a few buildings we just needed to know which ones were available also which people were available for the detective roles also we will be hiring here in a year from several precincts for several positions most importantly we need people who have experience in law enforcement in every type of job not just cops or detectives.

The headmaster says i will help you reach out she stops him then says please don't take offense to this but seeing in how Yusuke will be apart of this company no cops with an axe to grind and no crooked or corrupt cops also no cops with any vices other than smoking or drinking but atleast make sure that they have it under control enough that they can do their job and our new building isn't ruined the headmaster nods then says i understand but must ask even if the boy wasn't going to be apart of this company would you still make that request she says yes i would because in the US we've had problems with those kinds of cops.

He nods then asks what happened there she says because of those kinds of cops we had to shut down and relocate here she says doing so cost us thousands of dollars my bosses wasn't very happy with how that location turned out they are giving me 2 more chances before i lose my job he nods in understanding then says i will reach out to some people this afternoon and get you a list of possible locations so you can get started she asks this may sound like a stupid question but is it possible to do a condemned building then build it up from scratch.

He says yes you can but it will cost more money but the lot itself will be cheaper to purchase he says tell me what kind of land you're looking for and i'll get to searching she pulls out a sheet of paper unfolds it reads it to make sure she has everything that her bosses want for the location then looks at the cieling for a minute before she writes down a price on the sheet of paper then says:

The headmaster sees everything on her list after she tells him then asks what's this she says i was instructed not to go over 100,000 yen in purchasing the new building and as far as getting everything how they want it no more than 300,000 yen he nods then says this should be doable as long as what they want isn't too extravagant she says no they hate spending this much money he nods so he finds them a condemned parking garage as well as a condemned school the school has 4 floors he also finds them a condemned skyscraper that if they don't buy will be kncoked down and turned into a condo the most expensive option is the parking garage the cheapest is the skyscraper at 40,000 yen.

They get the best contractors to inspect it turns out that the reason they condemned it is because they used substandard materials when they built it and to fix it would cost 60,000 yen this also covers all new wiring and plumbing from top to bottom so they do it it also covers all new windows flooring carpet insulation drywall panneling trim appliances mailboxes trashcans and dumpsters the rest of the money will go to building the office space and the living space to those that can't afford to commute to work everyday.

Once that is done out of 100 floors 40 of them are for people to live in floor 50 is the office floor number 92 is the floor where Yusuke will get his assignments from Koenma and all of spirit world boton had that floor completely sound proof as well as only accessed by a key also she made sure that it was a real detective agency that was registered to the government it's called the Akuma Detective Agency it's not opened yet because they still have to get all of the people hired as well as all of the paperwork filled out.
