Chapter 89: Encounters Along the Way
The leisurely car suddenly turned into a raging beast as Li Changzhou floored the accelerator.
Li Qianxia had a strength of 7, enough to handle a heavy machine gun, but...
"Brother! I can't hit them!"
She didn't have the "Rifle Mastery" that Li Changzhou did, and she was afraid to shoot at random, in case she'd hurt civilians.
"I've already started driving, and now you're telling me this practical issue! That's not cool at all, you know!"
"I can't help it!"
Li Changzhou's right foot lifted off the accelerator and slammed on the brakes.
Yafeiluna's face smashed directly into Li Changzhou's seat, her thick red hair flinging onto Li Changzhou's face;
Bi controlled herself with telekinesis;
Yang Qinglan's eyes turned blue, she made her chair back become the ground and anchored herself to it.
With her excellent physical condition, Li Qianxia only slightly wobbled before steadying herself.
Li Changzhou opened the door to get out, and she, remaining in the car, stretched her shapely legs toward the driver's seat and, with a light leap, was already seated there.
"Brother!"
"What now!" Li Changzhou sat in the back seat, behind Yang Qinglan.
"I can't drive!"
"Can you press the accelerator?" he slammed the car door shut with a bang.
Reversing into a spot, parallel parking, S turns, hill-starts might require familiarization, especially the third driving test that doesn't care about traffic rules; there was no technical content to it, courage was all that was needed.
Li Qianxia gritted her teeth, pressed down on the accelerator, and the car instantly shot out.
"Qian Xia, the steering wheel!" Yang Qinglan yelled, staring at the National Opera House in front of them.
"Ah—" Li Qianxia screamed.
"Dadada!" Li Changzhou's machine gun fire sprayed, blood spurted in streams from the bodies of soldiers slaughtering civilians.
Boom, the car rushed into the portico of the National Opera House.
The car scraped the marble columns, zipping past the front of the National Opera House like a Mad Bull.
"Why aren't you using your powers?" Bi asked loudly.
"It's not time to expose them yet!" Li Changzhou spoke sternly, constantly adjusting the angle of the machine gun.
Under Li Qianxia's driving, the difficulty of his shooting went through the roof.
"Brother! I can drive now! You... ah—"
Yang Qinglan reached out to steady the steering wheel, her pupils turned blue, and a wine-red BMW X1 sprang upright from the ground and slid to the right.
As soon as the BMW slid away, Li Qianxia drove the car over from where it was, her foot pressing the accelerator to the floor.
Yafeiluna had only one feeling, as if she was inside a washing machine.
The only consolation was that Li Qianxia had gone out every day recently, familiarizing herself with the streets of Prague.
The car raced and crashed along the main road, and by the Hilton Hotel in front of the Vltava River, a large group of soldiers was already following them, opening fire on their nondescript Skoda.
Attracting fire while also being suppressed, Li Changzhou simply waved his hand, withdrawing back in.
Bi thought of making her move several times, but he held her back.
Yang Qinglan's hands, as pristine as newly fallen snow, opened up; amidst the sound of bullets striking the car, she took out the "Invisibility Lantern."
The lantern lit up, casting a warm glow, and the car began to disappear from the inside out, as if covered by Harry Potter's Invisibility Cloak.
After taking a few more shots, the Skoda surged onto the Hlávka Bridge, and the sound of gunfire gradually faded.
It all seemed to have passed, the sea was calm again, and Yang Qinglan let out a breath of relief.
Even having been through six instances, hovering between life and death on several occasions, she was still terrified under the modern weapons' barrage.
She looked toward Li Qianxia at the driver's seat.
"It's okay, it's alright, Qian Xia, you're Li Changzhou's sister, nothing's wrong, absolutely nothing, relax, it's simple, the right pedal is the accelerator, the left is the brake, just follow the road, right pedal is the accelerator, left is..."
Li Qianxia seemed to have not noticed the life-and-death escape at all, her eyes staring straight ahead, hands clenched tight on the steering wheel.
Yang Qinglan decided it was best not to disturb her.
"Why didn't you let me take action? We've already been exposed!" Bi complained dissatisfiedly to Li Changzhou.
"If we keep exposing, every one of the Gravel Nest's forces will concentrate on us," Li Changzhou packed away the machine gun, and then added apologetically, "My mistake, I shouldn't have drawn their attention in the first place."
"It's good to have a sense of justice. You saved a lot of people this time, and I think the car chase was thrilling," Yang Qinglan said with a light smile.
If Li Changzhou's intelligence had only been 4 points, he surely would have said, "I love you to death, Miss Yang." and then received nothing but an eye roll from Yang Qinglan.
But his intelligence was now at 7 points.
"Thank you," he said. "Next time, I'll support you in doing something foolish."
The Dawn Gold Skoda cruised smoothly towards the zoo, and an accident happened again when they passed the Trojan Bridge.
A thunderous boom resounded, the ground trembling suddenly, and the sounds of gunfire deafened the ears.
Phantom-like figures rushed into the crowd and disappeared.
But the figure wasn't like rainwater returning to the sea; it was a drop of ink contaminating a cup of water—the bugs treated the entire cup as ink.
A tank crushed the pavement, its smoke-shrouded barrel aimed at the crowd.
Another blast of heavenly thunder, the tank jerked slightly backward from the powerful recoil as the shell exploded in the midst of people.
Pieces of flesh scattered in every direction, and a chunk just happened to fly into the vehicle, grabbed by Li Changzhou's hand—it was a little girl's leg.
Warm blood leaked between his fingers; he grinned, cold and ferocious: "Looks like there's no need to go to the zoo, we have players right here, stop the car."
Li Qianxia immediately hit the brakes.
"I'll go with you," Yang Qinglan said, pushing the door ready to get out.
"No need," Li Changzhou extended his hand to the back seat, scooping up Bi like catching crabs when he was a child, "You put up a telekinesis shield for me."
Bi was indifferent, shamelessly clinging to his back, wrapping her legs around his waist like an octopus.
The two walked outside the range of the 'Invisibility Lantern'.
"I can tell, you actually want to save people," Bi whispered into Li Changzhou's ear.
Anyone would be able to figure that out, unless they had an intelligence problem—of course, Li Changzhou wouldn't say it directly.
"Do I look like a princess's knight in shining armor?" He smiled, and with an open right hand, the Emerald Bee Sword slid into his palm from his sleeve.
"I am the knight!"
The Czar Princess perched on his back, left hand with a wooden pot lid, right hand holding a lollipop, commanded:
"Wipe them out! Ura!"
"Ura!" Li Changzhou laughed loudly.
His legs bent slightly and with a boom, he charged into the crowd like a shot from a cannon.
In the crowd, the player known as 'Merry-Go-Round,' a French man, felt a sudden spike in his sense of crisis, his body as if plunged into ice, frozen to the marrow in his bones.
Who is it?!
Who is targeting him?!
A tank? Impossible, such a cumbersome thing could never hit him.
He didn't dive into the crowd to evade, but to flush out players... players... there were other players!
The moment it dawned on him, Merry-Go-Round already caught sight of Li Changzhou charging towards him.
Courting death, Merry-Go-Round sneered, grabbing at the ground, he yanked a diamond-shaped rock half the height of a man from it.
The diamond-shaped rock's edges and corners flew out like bees leaving their nest, releasing countless smaller diamond shards.
These small diamond shards spun rapidly, slicing through the air, creating tunnels that aimed for Li Changzhou.
One sliced through the neck of a man lucky enough to be alive, piercing through instantly—blood gushed out as if it cost nothing.
The Czar Princess's telekinesis when licking the lollipop wasn't strong; the telekinesis shield she raised was slightly dented by the barrage of rocks.
"Careful, this guy is dangerous!" Bi was startled; her telekinesis shield could even stop sniper bullets.
Merry-Go-Round was even more shocked.
His 'Gravel Nest' ability was only Class C, but he had already broken the limits and begun using his power. Against an unremarkable player who had not overcome the limits, he should have been instant death.
Glancing to the side, he noticed the little girl behind Li Changzhou and recognized her.
"Czar Princess!"
Merry-Go-Round turned and fled, even as a master who had broken limits, he couldn't be sure he'd survive her crushing blow when she bit the lollipop.
"I have a question for you."
At that moment, a voice came from behind him.
"Do I look handsome?"
"I handsome your fucking foot!" Merry-Go-Round, outraged to the extreme, charged straight at Li Changzhou.
