The King of Black Fog

Chapter 74 Dangerous Prague

Li Changzhou and Yang Qinglan had said this, but Li Qianxia still couldn't ease her mind. She was worried not only for herself, but more so that she might have put them both in danger.

It was all that deranged Xiao Yue's fault.

"If only we had that honey pot world," she said subconsciously.

As long as she hid in her own little world, no one could harm them.

Yang Qinglan glanced at her, "Didn't you want to live peacefully and plan to stay in Prague indefinitely?"

"Alas," sighed Li Qianxia, feeling that peace was indeed impossible.

Earlier, when the three of them were discussing, Yang Qinglan quoted Ferdinand Foch; at the time, she had dismissed it, but now realized that the words of great people really did carry wisdom—

There was never peace, it was just a twenty-year truce.

"And there's Wang Donghua; he definitely knows we've been to the casino," she said, not without worry.

"But he doesn't know exactly where I am," Li Changzhou yawned.

They had been teleported here in the middle of the night, just after he had finished digging and was about to go to sleep, exhausted.

"Hmm," nodded Yang Qinglan, "Photo teleportation was criminal in Xia Country, imprisoning women, it's natural that abroad it's even more unrestricted."

"That was the past," Li Changzhou lazily explained, "Photo teleportation relied on inhuman practices, met with the wrong people, but has now reformed. I'd appreciate if you didn't discriminate against her."

"By reformed, you mean—Du Hua imprisoned one, and you imprison us two?" Li Qianxia teased her brother, then asked, "What do we do next? Keep moving using photo teleportation?"

"Prague was the first entire city in the world to be listed as a World Heritage site; what do you think?" Yang Qinglan asked her with a smile.

"Hmm?"

"Of course, it's touring in a convertible," Li Changzhou comfortably lay back on the bed.

No matter what they planned to do next, that was enough for today, tired... no, it was time to regain strength.

Night in Prague.

Charles Bridge, adorned with 30 statues of saints. It's a crucial bridge that all the kings would cross during their coronation processions.

At this moment, the bridge was buzzing with people. Street performers played music; couples whispered sweet nothings; a group of friends walked by laughing; a child holding his parents' hands ate a grilled sausage.

A figure hurriedly ran through the crowd, occasionally glancing back in fear.

After the figure passed, the eyes of one of the saint statues beadily followed the direction he had gone.

...

The Old Town Square, the prototype for "Prague Square" from Cai Yilin's album "See My 72 Changes."

In the center of the square stood the Jan Hus Monument, depicting the Bohemian anti-church authority scholar Jan Hus, victorious Hussite warriors, and Protestants.

Among the statues, a young mother symbolized the rebirth of the nation.

A green sprite, with wide, thin, quivering green wings, landed deftly and majestically on top of the statue's head.

"Wow!" The crowd gasped.

The sprite, with its triangular head about one and a half meters tall, stood firmly on four legs atop Jan Hus's head.

Its long chest stood erect, holding its emerald forelimbs up as if praying to God.

"What a huge mantis!" exclaimed a child.

The sprite looked over, its capturing limbs, originally folded in front, slowly spread, crossing into an X shape.

The surrounding crowd gasped in shock, the child's parents faintly sensed something was wrong.

It was already too late.

Faster than lightning, the mantis's twin saw blades swept through the crowd.

Heads flew, blood sprayed from decapitated bodies, instantly killing five or six people.

"...Ah!!"

The crowd fell silent for a moment, then erupted into thunderous noise, the close-packed mass of people panicked, quickly evolving into a terrifying crush and chaos.

Everyone fled in madness, not knowing how many were knocked down, injured, or trampled.

Shouts of terror, screams, the shouting of adults, the crying of children, the surging mass of people entwined, each colliding with the other.

The green sprite coldly watched the chaos unfold in the Old Town Square, picking up a head with its forelimbs, its sharp little mouth piercing into the neck to peck at the most delicious parts.

Blood flowed, staining the engravings at the base of the statue.

[Love each other, wish the truth to every person.]

What is truth?

Some say it is love, some say justice, some say unity.

All are correct: love is strength, justice is strength, unity is strength, and strength is truth.

Maria Yafelona felt very unlucky; as an Italian, she was no stranger to Prague, Czech Republic.

She had flown from Venice to vacation here numerous times.

After being teleported to Prague, she used her experience to find a guesthouse she had stayed at before.

This guesthouse wasn't registered, and could not be found on any app. Originally, the owner hosted friends visiting Prague, and the view from the window was excellent, overlooking Prague Castle under the blue sky.

Later, the friends of the friends visited Prague, and the friends introduced them to stay at the owner's place.

The owner did not charge them, but the friends of the friends, feeling awkward, brought various gifts for the owner.

Then, the friends of the friends of the friends also came to visit Prague, and from some friend on, everyone started paying.

And so, Maria Yafelona was one of these friends.

When she walked into the guesthouse, she was startled and almost turned around and left.

An Egyptian holding the Anka Cross (the prototype of the Millennium Key from "Yu-Gi-Oh"), was talking to the owner.

Crocodile God Sobek!

He happened to be one of the few White Card players she knew, with the ability to summon Death Gods.

"Maria?" The owner's gaze shifted from Sobek, "Didn't you just visit last month? What, have you fallen in love with Prague?"

The owner had a teasing, friendly smile on his face.

'It's over!' Yafelona thought, panicking.

Above the owner's head, the space rippled, and a Death God clad in a black robe, holding a white bone scythe, flew out of the ripple.

With a gentle wave of his hand, a line of blood connected the owner's forehead, nose tip, and chin; he didn't realize he was already dead as the smile on his face deepened.

Yafelona dodged, avoiding the Death God who had somehow gotten close to her.

Outside the door and on the second floor of the guesthouse, a group of men in black suits appeared out of thin air, opening fire on Sobek.

"Clang, clang, clang!" The Death God swung his scythe, accurately intercepting all the bullets that could have hit Sobek.

The owner let out a terrified scream; amid the scream, his head cracked with a snap, splitting into two.

With the cover of the men in black, Maria Yafelona fled without looking back.

Reaching the street, she quickly weaved through the crowd at a brisk pace; soon, she saw Sobek, who had dealt with the bodyguards, following her.

He was also moving fast.

In the dangerous streets of Prague, no player dared to flee recklessly, as drawing attention could mean danger not just from behind.

Along the way, Maria Yafelona's scalp trembled, her head went numb, and her body was covered in goosebumps.

The air in her lungs seemed to solidify, making breathing, a simple and natural act, heavy and difficult.

Suddenly, chaos erupted ahead; a giant spiky turtle in the Vltava River fired a water cannon at Charles Bridge.

A saint on the Charles Bridge dodged left and right, occasionally lifting the other saint statues to throw at the spiky turtle.

Amid the dull booms of the cannon hitting the water, Yafelona slipped away from Sobek's sight with the crowd.

She nearly collided with a car in her rush to stop it.

"Drive!" Yafelona got into the passenger seat, slammed the door shut, and gasped for air.

The car started slowly, hesitantly, clearly not right.

"Act natural! If you draw anyone's attention, I'll kill you!" she hissed.

"Na-natural?"

Yafelona had no time for idle chatter with passersby, she commanded, "Sing!"

The driver, hesitating, lifted his right hand, snapped his fingers, and sang:

"Please bring a mojito for my love, I like the way her eyes sparkle when she's tipsy, and my coffee, don't make it too sweet..."
