The King of Black Fog

Chapter 62: Bold Action

The peaks were perilous as if carved by knives, and the Nu River surged like a dragon.

"Hummingbird!" Yang Qinglan suddenly exclaimed.

Li Changzhou saw them too.

Two emerald hummingbirds hovered twenty meters behind the monkey, unnoticed by anyone until they got that close.

If it weren't for the monkey accidentally letting out a giant roar, the powerful sound waves stirring in all directions had forced them to stop, the monkey might have been swallowed by the Nu River just like the giant eagle.

Sound wave attacks can restrain hummingbirds!

What are we waiting for!

Li Changzhou punched out, shattering the mountain wall, and gently exerted force with his knees to jump back to the platform.

The heavenly light shone brightly, blinding the two female college students for a moment.

"Brother! What are you doing!" Li Qianxia hurriedly asked loudly, her eyes struggling to adjust to the light.

Li Changzhou stood on the platform, spreading out his left hand.

One heartbeat, two heartbeats, three heartbeats, four heartbeats...

"Do I look cool!"

With all his might, he roared, not as thunderous as the monkey's, but it still stirred echoes throughout the canyon.

In the echoes, the monkey looked over, and the hovering emerald hummingbirds looked over.

Li Changzhou's palm melted the bullhorn into a black veil, covering his upright body like water.

"Buzz!" The hummingbird vanished in an instant.

Next was the monkey whose robust legs kicked against the cliff, leaping over the Nu River, flying towards him while also opening its mouth to roar.

The thunderous roar was like countless spring thunders exploding beside one's ear.

Li Qianxia covered her ears, hiding in a pit, but it was still deafening. The physically weaker Yang Qinglan nearly fainted.

Li Changzhou laughed heartily, right before him, the even faster hummingbird was stopped in the air by the trailing sound wave.

He stretched out both palms, avoiding the sharp beaks, grasped the 6-centimeter body of the hummingbird, and squeezed forcefully.

Blood and flesh oozed out from between his fingers.

Li Changzhou casually threw, tossing the hummingbird's corpse and two identity cards into the pit behind him.

By then the monkey had already leaped to him, reaching him.

The protruding eye sockets, the stubby nose, and the thick long fur it wore, all were clearly visible.

Li Changzhou's expression unchanged, he didn't move an inch, a force erupted from his body, converging into his right arm.

"Great Strength Bull Fist"!

But before he could launch his punch, his body felt as if it was about to collapse from a massive pain.

His skin, muscles, and blood all squeezed towards his organs, and in severe pain, his strength completely vanished.

Below the platform, the owl that should have fallen and been swallowed by the Nu River was flapping its wings flying upwards.

It faced upwards with its expressionless round face, black eyes surrounded by a ring of gold, its mysterious and cold pupils fixating on Li Changzhou.

"Brother!" Li Qianxia jumped up.

The monkey was almost on Li Changzhou's face.

Yang Qinglan, bleeding from her ears, heard nothing, barely saw Li Qianxia's leaping figure, bit her teeth against the pain, raised her head, and looked sideways at Li Changzhou.

Concentrating made her head ache again, she desperately resisted the instinct to close her eyes, letting the spicy tears slide down.

Li Changzhou fell backward, flying back into the pit.

Yang Qinglan couldn't keep her eyes open, felt the thump of Li Changzhou hitting the ground, but her ears only buzzed, unable to hear any sounds.

The monkey missed its pounce and landed on the platform.

It raised its head, and the rage in its black eyes seemed about to burst forth.

In those eyes, a red glimmer grew brighter and closer as if about to fly out from its eyeballs.

Li Qianxia's blood-colored steel spear pierced the monkey's forehead—the red glimmer in its eyes was the reflection of Li Qianxia's blood-sucking gun.

The owl charged upwards, swooping towards the pit.

Li Qianxia pulled out the steel spear, the weapon bursting with force, sweeping across towards the bird.

The owl's head twisted unnaturally smooth like a wind-up toy, its eyeballs turning to Li Qianxia.

Li Qianxia finally understood why the monkey shrieked when looked at and why her strong-willed brother felt too pained to maintain his strength.

"Ahhh!!!"

The spear slipped from her grasp, and she knelt on the ground in agony, feeling as though her whole body was squeezing into her abdomen to curl her into a ball.

The canyon echoed with her screams.

Hearing the sound, Li Changzhou snapped back from his pain. He threw a punch, shattered the cave's inner wall, grabbed a handful of rubble, and flung it with all his might.

"Grr!" The owl winced in pain; its white feathers scattered, and its claws were half severed.

It was jolted from its mockery of "Am I handsome?" and fled in panic into the distance.

Once it had flown far away, Li Qianxia was still kneeling on the platform, the dead monkey's blood nearly reaching her, wetting her bangs, yet she lacked the strength to stand.

Li Changzhou was somewhat better off but could not rise immediately.

"Thrilling!" he lay in the pit laughing out loud.

Yang Qinglan was panting, her temples drenched in sweat. She looked up at Li Changzhou, her gaze a mix of annoyance and helplessness.

She then turned her head to look at Li Qianxia, who was clutching her stomach and kneeling on the platform.

Li Qianxia was pulled back into the pit, landing on top of Li Changzhou, almost smashing the breath out of him.

Yang Qinglan looked in succession at the Blood-colored Steel Spear, the monkey's Identity Card, and the monkey's corpse.

The spear and Identity Card were pulled back into the pit, and the monkey's body was pushed off the platform. After a moment, she faintly heard a splash; only then did Yang Qinglan realize her hearing had returned.

She lowered her hands from her ears, her delicate fingertips stained with blood.

"It hurts so much, brother," Li Qianxia curled up next to Li Changzhou, her entire face scrunched up in pain.

Li Changzhou gently stroked her shoulder with his left hand and touched the monkey's Identity Card with his right.

As expected.

Li Changzhou's hand relaxed, and the Identity Card slipped from his grasp.

If it weren't for the 'Spider Style·Climbing' keeping the monkey fixed to the cliff face, the watchful owl would have caused it to let go and fall into the raging waves of the Nu River long ago.

If the Roaring Monkey's instinct had not been the oral 'Thunder Roar,' but any other kind of punch skill, it would have either held on and died of pain eventually even if it managed to cling to the cliff.

Li Changzhou breathed quietly, the pain gradually easing.

Li Qianxia's trembling subsided in his arms, and she slowly calmed down.

"You were too impulsive," Yang Qinglan said to Li Changzhou.

"Not impulsive, but bold," Li Changzhou lightly patted his sister's shoulder, gesturing for her to sit up.

"Bold, yes, just overly so," Yang Qinglan coldly replied, sweeping her long hair that had fallen on her shoulders to the back, leaning tiredly against the wall.

"Opportunities are hard to miss. Please forgive me, Miss Yang, it won't happen again."

"The outcome was good, so I won't say more, but in the future, think about your sister. Don't get her and me killed."

Yang Qinglan faintly realized that Li Changzhou's series of actions were due to his intelligence dropping to 6, unable to restrain himself.

"Mm-hm, I'll listen to you," Li Changzhou pushed Li Qianxia, who was still lazy on him, straightened up, and picked up the Hummingbird's Identity Card.

He flicked off the blood and mud, and there was no difference between the information on the two Identity Cards.
