Chapter 443: Fate_2
◇
"General! General! Wake up!"
Li Changzhou opened his eyes, three blood-covered warriors in military uniforms stood before him.
He was sitting with his back against a tree, a warhorse gently nudging his hand, shadows swaying like ocean waves in the breeze.
The clouds at the horizon formed words.
[Checkpoint: Destiny Battlefield]
[Clearing condition: Face fate, will you run? Resist? Or give up? Regardless of choice, the player's initial determination is 10 points, drop and you're immediately eliminated]
[Restriction: Maximum limit for all Attributes is 10 points]
"General! The enemy is coming!"
The clouds changed back to a leisurely shape, Li Changzhou withdrew his gaze, looking into the distance, a cavalry of hundreds was galloping from the east.
Li Changzhou slowly stood up, brushing the grass seeds off his rear.
He spat out the grass root from his mouth and asked, "What's the situation?"
"General! We've been scattered!" A young warrior stepped forward, saying, "Now it's just the three of us and the General. General, let's fight them!"
"Fight? Just the four of us?" The middle-aged warrior said with a gloomy face, "General, let's run! As long as the green hills remain, there's no fear—"
"Run?!" The young warrior shouted, "We are the invincible Blood Brave Army, even if defeated, each is one against a hundred, and you want to run?"
The young warrior clasped his fists towards Li Changzhou: "General, with just one order, I'll charge the ranks alone now!"
"At best, one against a hundred, this group of hundreds is just a scout team, finding us means tens of thousand are encircling!" The middle-aged warrior replied.
"I'd rather die!" The young warrior straightened his neck.
Li Changzhou examined the three before him, a twenty-year-old eager for battle, a forty-year-old advocating escape, and a silent veteran.
He chuckled.
This setup is interesting. Is this the embodiment of the three ways to face fate?
"What do you think?" Li Changzhou asked the veteran.
The veteran puffed on his pipe.
"Old Zhao!" The young warrior urged.
Old Zhao finally seemed to return to his senses and said, "I'll follow General's lead."
Li Changzhou patted the warhorse's head, and it snorted comfortably.
Mounting his horse, Li Changzhou reined in front of the three, saying, "In that case, follow me into battle."
"Yes!" The young warrior replied energetically, turning to leap onto his warhorse.
"General!" The middle-aged warrior clasped his fists, "It's easy to kill these hundreds, hard to break through the encirclement, escape, there's a slim chance, rush out before the encirclement forms, General!"
"Mount up." Li Changzhou said stoically.
The middle-aged warrior sighed, turning to mount his horse.
Old Zhao stood there, raising his head to ask the General: "Have you decided, General?"
"What about this decision?" Li Changzhou countered.
"You'll die."
"What if I run?"
Old Zhao extinguished his pipe and tucked it into his waistband: "You'll die too."
"Old Zhao!" The middle-aged warrior shouted.
Li Changzhou gestured dismissively, laughing, "Generals inevitably fall in battle! Let's go, the enemy is right there, where else can we go as warriors?"
Old Zhao mounted his horse.
"Hyah!!"
The four charged towards the squadron of hundreds.
As the two armies met, Li Changzhou's spear erupted like an angry dragon, crashing forward like a battering ram, toppling dozens.
With a swift pull, he seized an enemy's spear, flinging it instantly.
Schwunk!
Five soldiers were skewered, pinned to the ground.
Bending down, his body pressed against the horse's back, he dodged several incoming war swords, switching the spear from right to left hand, becoming one with the centaur, twisting his waist and abdomen, thrusting and rotating the spear.
Shhh-shhh-shhh-shhh!
Blood splattered, the surrounding enemies slaughtered, each pierced through the throat by the spear tip.
Kill kill kill kill!
After finishing off the squad of hundreds, another squad of hundreds appeared.
Clearing the squad, he flicked the blood-soaked hair back, looking up, to see a thousand-strong battalion closing in.
The tides of fate surged wave after wave.
Even knowing this was a test of determination, how much could one ensure they wouldn't waver?
Li Changzhou spurred his horse forward, charging head-on!
Snatching a spear planted in the ground, with a mighty throw, he pierced through the thousand-strong battalion.
After decimating the thousand-strong squad... the sound of bugles drew closer, tens of thousands of troops descended like dark clouds from the horizon.
"General!!" The young, middle-aged, and old shouted in unison.
Fate's crossroads, how to choose?
Li Changzhou took out the Strong Bow, drew the bow and nocked an arrow.
Crack!
The battle flag of the tens of thousands of troops snapped.
"Hahaha!" Li Changzhou laughed heartily, put away the Strong Bow, slanted the spear, "Kill!"
Before he reached the front, arrows poured down like water.
In one round, he was the only one left, all the youth, middle-aged, and elderly had perished.
The enemy's hooves thundered like lightning!
Li Changzhou was a lone warrior.
"Surrender and we won't kill you!"
"Surrender and we won't kill you!"
"Surrender and we won't kill you!"
The battle roar of tens of thousands formed a tangible sound wave, repeatedly crashing into Li Changzhou.
The cavalry at the forefront rushed over, eyes vicious, perfectly executing battlefield Spear Skill, raising the spear to thrust at Li Changzhou.
Li Changzhou's arm was full of strength, fiercely shaking, bending the cavalry spear while the spearhead pierced a hole in the opponent's forehead.
The warhorse beneath him was equally heroic, the spearhead charged onward, piercing the forehead of another cavalry.
As he charged and the momentum slightly halted, the spear astonishingly skewered eight people in total, each with their foreheads penetrated.
Li Changzhou laughed loudly, thrusting the string of head skewers into the ground, his wrist like a snake wrapping around the spear thrusting from the side, fiercely wrenching it and seizing it in his hand.
He swept the spear smoothly, bursting the head of another cavalry on the opposite side.
Li Changzhou led the charge!
Li Changzhou had only one horse.
When he awoke, it was afternoon, now the bright moon hung high, the horse's mane fluttered, sweat and Blood Water scattered simultaneously.
The clash of Weapons was sharp and intense!
Sweat and Blood Water flowed into his eyes, stinging them painfully, his arm ached numbly.
"Kill!!!"
The shouts of slaughter roared like thunder around him.
Suddenly, a black spear shadow like a snake shot out from the grass, biting towards Li Changzhou's neck.
Li Changzhou swung his spear to block, thrusting a hole in the opponent's body with a reverse hand.
He stopped, touching his neck, where a sharp pain emanated.
"Li Changzhou, you must die!"
"After so many have died, you just scratched my skin, and you dare say such boastful words?" Li Changzhou reined in his horse amid the army.
The horse panted like a bellows, its belly contracting and expanding.
"Above ten thousand, there's a hundred thousand group, above a hundred thousand group, there's a million army, how much skin do you have?"
Li Changzhou planted the spear in the ground, tore a piece of cloth from his battle armor skirt, using both hands and teeth, tied a War Sword to his hand.
He fixed his gaze on the enemy forces, his lips always curling into a smile.
Simple, too simple, when did he not fight against destiny? This was one of the trials?
His teeth clamped, pulling the fabric tight, his right hand grabbed the spear.
The enemy General uttered no more words and raised his hand: "Draw!"
Tens of thousands drew their bows, countless arrows nocked on bows.
Each bowstring glinted under the moonlight, filled with explosive tension, and cold killing intent.
"Release!"
Dark clouds covered the sky, arrows rained down like coverings of the heavens.
Li Changzhou spun the spear into an impenetrable shield.
The moon was obscured by dark clouds, he resembled a nail, hammered into the army.
No matter how he killed, he couldn't kill them all.
The sword edges were frayed.
Slash!
Among countless sounds of Sword stabbing into flesh, this one made Li Changzhou feel a rapidly spreading numbness.
He felt warm blood flowing down his thigh.
The horse wailed, staggered and collapsed, he rolled and stood up, the War Sword swung, a head soared into the sky!
Raising his right arm, about to slay again.
A saber struck his right shoulder, two other blades simultaneously hacked at his wrist.
He witnessed his own right arm flying, still clutching the blood-stained, rugged spear.
Blood spurted from his right arm, the cuts were not clean, some flesh merely scraped from the bone, leaving a long bone like a bamboo pole hanging on his right arm.
Blood continually pooled at his feet, forming a small puddle.
"Li Changzhou, any last words?"
Countless long spears advanced, pressing against his body.
Li Changzhou lifted his head, smiled at the enemy General, stood up to continue wielding the blade.
Countless long spears thrust forward, stabbing into his body.
