The King of Black Fog

Chapter 199 Firefly Forest_2

"Hmph."

The zipper on Bi's waist pouch automatically opened, the Blood Pearl flew in, and the zipper closed itself again.

"I'm certainly not going to thank you."

"Then you... never mind."

Li Changzhou wanted her to try hypnosis with him, but using hypnosis on a twelve-year-old girl really challenged his ethical boundaries as a law student.

Better to hypnotize his sister instead.

"That's it!" Bi glared at him fiercely, "I hate people who only talk halfway!"

"What I meant to say was, if you're not thanking me, then give me another lollipop."

"Just like that?"

"Just like that."

Bi, while keeping an eye on him in case he tried to snatch it, reached into her bag and pulled out a lollipop.

"Here." She handed it over.

"Thanks." Li Changzhou didn't eat it; he put it in his pocket.

"I don't owe you anymore."

"Hmm."

Li Changzhou looked out the window, wondering where Yang Qinglan was.

After Bi finished the lollipop in her mouth, the carriage arrived near the Edison Research Institute, and they hid in a nearby forest.

The canopy overhead swayed, and the inside of the carriage felt as if it was filled with seawater.

"Let's stay here for now," Bi suggested.

Li Changzhou carefully surveyed the surroundings.

"What's wrong?" Bi asked.

"Don't you find it strange? In the forest in July, there are no cicadas chirping."

Bi was stunned for a moment, her eyes slightly glazed as she focused on her hearing.

Indeed, it was very quiet.

Her green eyes regained their vigor, and looking up at Li Changzhou, she asked, "Could it be your stench drove the cicadas away?"

"..." Li Changzhou gave her a noogie.

"Ow!" Bi covered her tender, petal-like forehead with her hand.

"You—"

"Get up here." Li Changzhou patted his shoulder.

Just as Bi was about to scold him, her eyes gleamed, and she grinned mischievously as she hopped onto his shoulder.

Li Changzhou, unconcerned with her little schemes, left the carriage and walked into the densely shaded forest.

His body felt hot, but it was bearable. The ring kept sending refreshing breezes that sustained his life.

"Should we actively search for someone?" Bi asked.

"If we stay put, we are the prey, but if we seek others, we become the hunters."

Saying this, Li Changzhou's legs exploded off the ground like cannonballs, and his figure traced a line as it spiraled through the forest.

Bi, with her fully capable physical condition, had to use a bit of telekinesis to keep herself steady on his back.

Not far out, they saw what truly "drove" the cicadas away—a jellyfish floating in the forest.

It appeared to be a jellyfish.

Without eyes, brain, or a heart, its body was translucent, with an abstract shape that lacked the bulk of a typical animal, resembling an organ scooped out from some creature's body cavity.

This person-sized jellyfish, quietly drifting in the forest, resembled a legendary soul.

Li Changzhou stopped on a tree branch, looking at it from a distance.

"What is that?" Bi swept away branches obstructing her view.

From two hundred meters away, the creature gazed at the nearby Edison Research Institute, then its eyes moved within its body towards them, noticing them.

Its body shivered slightly, its skirt-like body blooming like cherry blossoms, floating up gracefully, ethereal like an illusion.

It started to emit light.

"This doesn't look good," Bi remarked.

Li Changzhou thought for a moment and decided against using the Heavy Machine Gun for a distant strafing—its loud noise would reveal their position.

"It looks like it's going to attack us."

From two hundred meters away, using the newly acquired Heat Beam would consume too much energy.

"Just in case, I eat another one." The zipper opened, a lollipop...

Boom!

Li Changzhou, who appeared calm, had already charged forward. In an instant, from standing still on a tree branch, he became imposing.

"Wait—"

The Emerald Bee Sword slid into his palm.

"My lollipop—" Bi turned around to catch the lollipop snagged by telekinesis, but she hadn't caught up yet.

The void shattered, and the Black Death God, holding a White Bone Scythe, floated above the heads of Li Changzhou and Bi, charging with them toward the jellyfish.

The soft tentacles instantly tensed, turning into deadly strangling ropes, sweeping towards Li Changzhou in a relentless assault.

Li Changzhou flicked his wrist, and the light from the Emerald Bee Sword slashed back.

Hiss! Hiss! Hiss!

The net woven of tentacles instantly disintegrated.

In the barrage of tentacle rain, Li Changzhou got within five meters of the jellyfish.

The Black Death God's scythe, dragging a ghastly pale light and shadow, swung down, reaping.

The White Bone Scythe hooked over the jellyfish's body while, to be sure, Li Changzhou struck with his sword at the same time.

After returning from the Mecha world, the already unimaginably sharp and sturdy Emerald Bee Sword had been greatly enhanced.

With one slash, it easily cut through the jellyfish's body.

Gurgle!

The wound on the jellyfish's body suddenly opened, enveloping Li Changzhou and Bi in its soft body.

"Uh!" Bi's hand reached back and finally caught the flying lollipop.

Inside the jellyfish, everything was as clear as Qing Shui.

The itch on the skin was unbearable, but the brain fell into a daze, wanting to sleep.

Poisonous!

Li Changzhou held the Emerald Bee Sword in one hand and clapped his hands together, blasting out a millstone-like Eight Diagrams.

Under the tremendous force, the jellyfish suddenly expanded but did not burst.

Seizing the opportunity, Bi stuffed the lollipop into her mouth.

Rumble! The liquid inside the jellyfish's body surged again, rolling back to strike them.

"Scram!" Bi waved her hand.

The formidable telekinesis once again made the jellyfish expand, the originally one-meter-sized jellyfish now stretched to twenty meters!

Bi snorted coldly, slightly chipping off a small piece of the lollipop.

Boom!

The ground trembled, and an invisible shock wave swept through the entire forest, making tall trees sway wildly like weeds.

The jellyfish shattered into infinite pieces.

"Scum!" Bi said disdainfully.

"Impressive, impressive," Li Changzhou praised, his heart sweating coldly about the incident back in Prague.

If it hadn't been for working with Yang Qinglan to coax the lollipop from Bi's mouth, the consequences would have been unimaginable.

Even now, he wasn't sure he could win against Bi with a lollipop in her mouth, reactions keeping up.

"Hiss hiss~" The King Cobra slithered out like it was stalking in the forest, from behind a tree.

It licked the liquid on the ground.

Li Changzhou stretched out his arm, it gently bit on it, then climbed along Li Changzhou's arm to Bi's calf and bit her too.

"What the hell is this!" Bi jerked her leg trying to shake the King Cobra off.

She did not use telekinesis, subconsciously knowing it wasn't a bad thing, particularly since it bit Li Changzhou first.

"Golden Crown, Qian Xia's good friend, capable of detoxifying," Li Changzhou said, scanning the forest for the jellyfish's Identity Card.

"It's all because of you! I told you to wait, to just wait, but no, you had to charge in! Fool! Trash! Idiot!" Bi again delivered a trio of insults.

"You'd better look for yourself, who is wrong more often, you or me?"

"Huh?"

Bi raised her head.

In the forest, wherever the jellyfish broke apart, countless small jellyfish now floated.

They floated, emitting light like lanterns or fireflies.

The forest turned into a Firefly Forest.
