The King of Black Fog

Chapter 188 Battle of the Imperial Capital (Part 1)

"Watch her!" Margaret III shouted angrily.

Several female knights stepped forward, imprisoning Beia Triss, and the Princess was no exception.

Yet, Margaret III dared not kill Beia Triss.

Once Beia Triss died, the right to appoint a Knight would be randomly allocated to a member of the Cangqiong Royal Family.

Among the world's Cangqiong Royal Family, the Empire only accounted for a small part, not to mention those illegitimate children unknown to the public.

The subjects of the Empire, as well as many more people watching the live broadcast around the world, fell into deep confusion at this time.

Wasn't the Knight mechanic of the Leistain Duchy already dead? Along with the National Guardian Mecha, turned to ash by the Burning?

Why had the Knight moved again?

Those who were unfamiliar with the Cangqiong Contract suspected that someone had stolen the Empire's authentication authority.

Those who understood the Cangqiong Contract watched the excitement with glee.

A single Knight facing four Imperial Mecha could do nothing, but it would bring shame to the Empire, igniting a war among Imperial Mecha in the Imperial Capital, a spectacle undoubtedly worth watching while drinking.

"To take me down? Hmph."

With a scornful voice, the Red Lotus hovering on the horizon lit up with crimson eyes; particles of scarlet light materialized out of thin air, floating around this Imperial Mecha.

A hot wind began to sweep through, the air shocked, producing fine ripples.

The temperature at the Imperial Square soared rapidly, becoming unbearably hot, and in just an instant, the Imperial Mecha displayed a power as vast as the heavens.

"So what if the Knight is revived? What can an ousted Princess do?" the Red Lotus's mechanic, Patino, said with a stern voice, echoing throughout the Imperial Capital, "You three don't interfere; I'll slaughter it by myself."

The Moonlight was a female mechanic, her name was Vivian.

She chuckled lightly, "As you wish."

"Stop." The voice from Judgement was a steady baritone, "The new body of the Knight uses the Empire's most advanced materials, and the blessing is the Knight's Fortress. Let's strike together to vaporize it, not to waste the time of Her Majesty and Her Highness."

Burning, Wen Carol, said nothing.

She had lost control of Burning; the moment the Princess spoke, the act of letting Zhou Weisi escape the night before was exposed.

Wen Carol's face first showed a hint of anger, angered by Li Changzhou's ingratitude, then slowly returned to calm.

If not for Zhou Weisi, she would be dead; she owed this life to him.

The backup furnace of Burning activated, the Empire's most advanced Power Furnace, which could manage only the lowest speed of flight for an Imperial Mecha unconcerned with the energy cost.

She looked at the Imperial Square in the optical display, the sixty-meter-tall Knight amidst over a million people, like an island surrounded by the sea.

'Zhou Weisi, what exactly do you want to do? Would you rather sacrifice yourself just to take revenge on the Empire?' Wen Carol wondered.

On the terrace of Cangqiong Hall, Di'en stepped forward, "Red Lotus, destroy it!"

"At your command, Your Highness." Patino's voice became cruel.

"Red Lotus! Red Lotus! Red Lotus!" On the vast square, over a million people shouted in unison, and it seemed as though the world itself was trembling.

Amidst this earth-shattering roar, more and more crimson particles coiled around the Red Lotus, gradually forming a stream of light.

The stream of light pierced heaven and earth like a crimson waterfall suspended between sky and land.

Red Lotus, nearly sixty meters tall, stood within the stream of light, like a deity.

The next moment, everyone present felt a flash in the sky and subconsciously closed their eyes.

After a muffled boom, the entire body of Red Lotus, dragging a trail of crimson light, flew out, becoming a small point in the sky barely visible to the naked eye, and finally came to a stop.

"What's going on?" Di'en asked instinctively.

What's going on? Everyone was asking.

What had just happened?

"How about trying something beyond your ability range once in a while?" A clear and pleasant voice, with a relaxed tone, came from within the Knight.

Millions of heads turned to look.

Cameras broadcasting live to the whole world swiveled in direction.

Standing in the center of the Imperial Square, the Knight, a symbol of the Empire's invincibility—a war trophy—lifted slowly from the ground, ascending gradually.

Bright silver streams of light traveled along the contours of its black armor.

"People who only do what they can will never know their limits."

The voice was distant and indifferent.

The Knight hovered above the Imperial Square, above Judgement, Moonlight, and Burning; the bright early summer sun added another circle of golden light around it.

Perception fused with the machine; Li Changzhou felt the world was so fragile, like gravel, like ash, ready to crumble upon touch.

"Let me show you the true power of Imperial Mecha."

Beneath the shadow, the golden eyes of the Knight stood out starkly, like the indifferent gaze of a deity.

The crimson particles pervading heaven and earth were suddenly absorbed by the Red Lotus in the distance, achieving materialization.

"You're courting death!" the Red Lotus mechanic roared deeply.

He had already clashed with Zhou Weisi, a nobody who, with an unknown Power Armor, somehow managed to survive his chase!

Now, through his nerve connection to Red Lotus, one could sense the lethal intent towards Li Changzhou.

The crimson beam roared as it swept over the heads of over a million people, an astounding heatwave striking everything.

The unimaginable heat caused the scenery above the square to waver and distort.

In just a moment, the crimson beam crossed the great distance, aiming for the Knight.
