Arc 3: Forming - Chapter 5
A few minutes later*
"They are really slow." Daisuke said dryly as he waited for them to go over to Nana's house soon, but they were moving at a pace that made him wonder what they were doing.
"I mean, for those with a decent trained instinct or natural born instinct, they should notice that I'm watching them and going by the conversations between them. They are agitated by any potential ambush lurking in the areas they enter because they sense me watching them." Esdeath explained.
"It would be great if I could just kill them all now, but that would make things difficult for me later." Daisuke frowns at the disadvantage of killing the first wave of Vongola too early.
"Are you waiting for the fake baby to show up?" Esdeath quickly realizes that an important person is missing from the group that are slowly makes their way to Nana's house.
"Yup. He should show up soon." Daisuke replied, "His pride won't allow him to be so passive anymore and sooner or later, he will take action. Maybe in five minutes or so."
"By the way, I got what you requested a few weeks ago." Esdeath taps the roof with her right foot, causing her shadow to darken until it is pitch black, and a ripple appears in the center, slowly revealing two military crates filled with firearms and ammunition. "I don't know why you even want these when you can easily make your own in a matter of seconds."
"Oh, it will come in very handy if we ever enter a world where non-mundane items are severely limited. It also reduces the amount of important materials needed to make new weapons. So these can be used as they are or recycled as materials for new weapons." Daisuke knew that he had been quite lucky with the worlds he had entered. And even then, he still hadn't finished all the upgrades for the Holy Grail to get around all the restrictions made by the will of the planet.
"Wouldn't that make it almost impossible for you to leave those worlds once you enter them?" Esdeath points out the most critical future issues. "Unless D4C is enough to help you leave certain worlds with heavy restrictions on non-mundane?"
"Mainly D4C, along with the usages of the Holy Grail and you, Esdeath." Daisuke brought out The World to bring the two military crates into the Gate of Babylon, then the powerful time stopping Stand faded afterward.
"I see." Esdeath looks away as she stares to the west, where the first wave of Vongola is coming from.
Daisuke looks at his wristwatch and checks the time before using the Omnifabrication to double-check exactly when Reborn will enter Namimori; however, before he can trigger the activation of the Omnifabrication.
Esdeath let out a demonic chuckle and disappeared from the rooftop, reappearing a second later with a bloody Reborn in her hand and throwing him to the ground. He was severely injured, as if he had been in a fierce fight with several wild wolves, unarmed and without the use of his Sun Flame.
"Perfect timing." Daisuke erased the paper in his hand, pulled out the Tsumukari Muramasa and quickly unsheathed the sword for a split second before sheathing it again and putting the deadly Noble Phantasm away.
The yellow pacifier on Reborn's chest slowly rolled away from his body and Daisuke quickly grabbed it before it had a chance to roll away further.
Under the effect of Omnifabrication, the yellow pacifier disappears. Daisuke instantly gains the knowledge and the ability of the Fifth Magic from the Nasuverse through the connection from the Holy Grail.
After a few seconds of blinking, Daisuke starts to hum to himself.
"Something wrong, Master?" Esdeath ignores Reborn's body, which is slowly aging into adulthood, his clothes growing with his age.
Strangely enough, Reborn did not continue to age after returning to his pre-curse age and form.
"Just thinking about the new power I've gained." Daisuke briefly explains about the Fifth Magic.
To roughly explain what Fifth Magic could do—basically related to consumption and extinction. Along with affecting causality and time itself. But most importantly, he noticed how the Fifth Magic used the unused energy of everything. Literally, everything that's available that hasn't been used can ultimately be used for various effects.
In an ironic way for Daisuke. The Fifth Magic is similar to Omnifabrication, but it is more limited in its uses than Omnifabrication and has a higher risk of causing more harm to the world itself. On the plus side, Omnifabrication is more on the creation side, while Fifth Magic is more on the destruction side. This means that he can use Fifth Magic as an ace in the hole for destruction when necessary or just as his go-to method for destruction in general.
"So what do we do with this guy? He is no longer a fake baby. So we may or may not get a thank you from him. Maybe in the form of a bullet, since that was how he greeted me when I suddenly appeared before him before I easily defeated him." Esdeath said it in a way that made it seem like it was an everyday task to defeat the world's strongest hitman easily.
"If possible, don't kill me. I finally have my old body back." Reborn spoke. But still injured and half frozen to death. "Whatever beef you have with the Vongola. I just want you both to know that I'm just a hireling, not a part of them."
"I don't know. You just heard some important things." Daisuke wasn't stupid, nor did he want to pretend that Reborn hadn't heard the conversation, especially the Fifth Magic, and no doubt, Reborn saw with his own eyes how the pacifier disappeared before his very eyes.
"So, death?" Esdeath grinned down at Reborn, who broke out in cold sweats.
"Well, not exactly." Daisuke reached into his inner jacket again and pulled out a vial containing a tiny black eyeless snake.
"You're going to let a snake eat him?" Esdeath asks, where Reborn silently asks the same thing.
"Again, not exactly." Daisuke didn't wait any longer and dropped the black eyeless snake into Reborn's face; he didn't even have a chance to react when the snake drilled into his forehead without leaving a wound. "Alright, you want to leave now or kill those from Vongola?"
Esdeath raises an eyebrow, "Mind explaining what that snake does? And by leaving now... Do you mean leaving Namimori or this world?"
"Something I made up on the spot. It's a snake that 'eats' its victim's memory and replaces it with something else. Like now, I've replaced Reborn's memory of seeing us with the memory of being the one who came into Nana and Tsunayoshi's lives, including removing the seal with the help of someone he just happened to know. Unfortunately, said someone had a fatal accident after removing the seal." Daisuke explained without going into too much detail.
"Is that why you kept putting off having sex with Nana? Because you knew that someone else would take your place and you don't want to experience being cheated on like Iemitsu will when he finds out that his wife is having an affair with Reborn?" Esdeath looks at Daisuke with wide eyes in disbelief.
Daisuke rubs his chin, "Yeah... Let's go with that."
"I feel like there's another reason, but let's move on. What did you mean by moving on?" Esdeath looks at Daisuke suspiciously.
"Leaving this world, because I got what I wanted." Daisuke replied.
Of course, he didn't obtain everything he needed, but he got the most important one. Precisely, one of the artifacts that made up the Tri-ni-sette.
"So we're not sticking around?" Esdeath kicked Reborn off the roof, but made sure he didn't die from the fall by making sure he landed directly on the bushes. However, injuring him more wasn't on her mind when she kicked him.
"Nope. Not when I can feel the will of the planet going crazy with the loss of the Sun Arcobaleno Pacifier." Daisuke felt glad that the influence of the Holy Grail and Esdeath/Rashomon made it harder for him to be detected long enough for him to be this idle while also having a little chat instead of quickly leaving for another world.
"Give me a second." Esdeath stomped on the roof, and then the entire Namimori went pitch black for a split second before everything returned to normal. "Done. I made sure to leave no part of me behind."
"Right." Daisuke waited for Esdeath to change to Rashomon, aka merge back into his clothes, before he jumped behind the house and summoned D4C to send him to another world just as he fell between the back of the house and the backyard fence.
Daisuke lands on his feet and realizes that he is now in a medieval fantasy world. Looking at the surroundings, he can see that many people are wearing outfits that are meant for adventurers in the many fantasy manga he has read in the past.
It wasn't hard for him to figure out which world he was in. But just in case, he made the same paper for future routes. Especially the one that would give him the best materials to craft another cheat-like ability or item.
Daisuke nods as he reads the paper before he lets it fade out of existence and gets to work.
Hours later*
"Thank you for joining us, Sato-san." The female employee of the Adventurer's Guild hands Daisuke his Adventurer's Card, which contains information about his class, stats, skills, and so on.
Daisuke nods and accepts the card without a second thought since all the information on the card is false, thanks to the use of Omnifabrication, which prevents the card from getting any actual details from him.
It's funny how this card alone is considered plot armor for those not of this world. Especially those who were isekai. Because the card would give a game-like set of powers with limitations to prevent anyone from being overpowered at the start. But enough to make it easier for the cardholder to start their adventures.
"Hey, did you hear about the new Archpriest?" Someone nearby starts talking about something interesting. "Looks like we're going to have an easier time of it now that we have someone available to heal us."
"I don't know, man." Another person chimed in. "Being an Archpriest in the beginning is great and all, but I feel like she's not going to make much difference with how she acts, and I was there when she chose that class."
Daisuke tuned out the conversations while sitting at one of the free tables. He started tinkering with his card with Omnifabrication until he was satisfied with what would be displayed whenever someone wanted to see it. Then he slipped it into his right pocket, never to take it out again until he was asked to see it.
"By the way, do you think the new Archpriest will make us pay her for healing? If so, I hope she charges us less than most priests who always overcharge us for small healings." Someone said what's on most people's minds.
Daisuke already knew the answer to this question and the Archpriest they were discussing. Just because of her personality, many won't even ask her about the price of healing. Not that there was any need for healing, considering that the dangers of this place won't be that high until later.
Nevertheless, he got an idea of how to solve his money problem in this world, not that he was short of money in the first place. Thanks to Omnifabrication, and surprisingly, the Fifth Magic allows him to find money lying somewhere on the ground that people drop overtime.
