The Invincible Son-in-law

Chapter 440: Can't You Roll Away?

Lin Hao's icy gaze swept across the room, and he asked coldly, "Who is Brother Chao?"

"Punk, you dare call him Brother Chao? Who the hell do you think you are?" One of the thugs immediately shot up.

Peng Chao caught sight of Lin Hao's aura and instantly sensed trouble, for it was the domineering presence of a superior.

Especially his cold gaze, which appeared refined yet carried an imperceptible murderous aura, making people shiver with fear.

"I am Peng Chao, also the owner of this karaoke city," Peng Chao responded coldly, without standing up.

"Brother Chao, my name is Lin Hao," Lin Hao introduced himself.

"What? You're... you're Lin... Lin Hao? County Magistrate Lin?" Peng Chao had obviously heard of this name, and his voice trembled.

Everyone present was shocked, and when the two thugs heard this, they collapsed onto the sofa in fright.

Lin Hao walked over slowly, sat down on one of the sofas, crossed his legs, and said indifferently, "Genuine article."

Peng Chao immediately bounced up from the sofa, hurried over, and handed a cigarette with a forced smile.

"County Magistrate Lin's gracious presence is most welcome. Please, have a cigarette."

Lin Hao did not accept it, but looked coldly at Peng Chao and said, "Boss Peng, Li Xue is my sister-in-law, and Xue Meiyun is my sworn sister. How dare you bully them? What do you have to say about this?"

"What? Who dares bully your relatives? I'll deal with him for you," Peng Chao replied loudly, like a lapdog.

Lin Hao didn't finish, pointing his finger at the two thugs as if sentencing them to death.

"Blind fools, daring to bully County Magistrate Lin's sister? You must have a death wish!"

Peng Chao turned and charged over, punching and kicking the two on the sofa.

Bang bang bang...

The luxurious room echoed with horrifying screams as Brother Chao beat the two thugs black and blue, reducing them to pleading for mercy on the ground.

"County Magistrate Lin, we're wrong... We truly know we're wrong! Spare our miserable lives!"

Lin Hao wasn't in a hurry at all, lit a cigarette, and took a leisurely smoke.

Peng Chao saw that he hadn't spoken up, but didn't dare stop, determined to continue until he saw Lin satisfied.

This afternoon, Boss He of the New Century Grand Hotel was arrested, and rumor had it he had offended County Magistrate Lin and was already preparing for jail time.

Furthermore, County Magistrate Lin now wielded enormous power in Wucheng County, a fact Peng Chao only knew from friends.

If he crossed him, this karaoke city might be done for, and he might end up in jail for years.

Thinking of these, Peng Chao believed as long as Lin Hao calmed down, even beating these two thugs to death would be worth it.

Naturally, the two thugs knew that as long as Lin Hao hadn't spoken, Brother Chao wouldn't dare stop, and they could only endure the pain and crawl to Lin Hao's feet.

"County Magistrate Lin, spare us! Spare us, please! We'll be beaten to death at this rate!" The two thugs finally knew fear.

Seeing they had learned their lesson, Lin Hao waved at Peng Chao and said, "Since you know you're wrong, apologize to my sworn sister; if she forgives you, I'll consider it settled."

The two thugs, covered in blood, crawled to Li Xue and Xue Meiyun's feet, kowtowing tears and begging loudly, "We're sorry! Truly sorry! Sisters, spare us! We know we're wrong! We'll never dare again!"

"Lin Hao, it's fine, they've admitted their mistake," Li Xue said loudly.

"Since my sister-in-law spared you, hurry up and get out!" Lin Hao shouted coldly.

"Yes, yes, yes..." The two thugs quickly got up to leave, and Brother Chao let out a secret sigh of relief.

"Stop!" Lin Hao suddenly roared, and the two thugs shivered in fear.

Everyone turned to look at him, not knowing what he wanted, even Li Xue and Xue Meiyun were startled.

"You didn't hear what I said. I told you to roll out! You don't know how to roll?" Lin Hao said coldly.

What? Roll out? Did he mean to tumble out on the floor?

Peng Chao reacted swiftly, kicking the two and shouting, "Don't you know how to roll?"

"We'll roll! We can roll..." The two thugs lay on the ground like watermelons, rolling towards the door.

The two women thought watching them roll out was hilarious but didn't dare laugh, though inside they were already overjoyed.

Lin Hao wore a dark expression, and even after they rolled out, he didn't relax but turned his gaze to Peng Chao.

Peng Chao quickly waved at the other lackeys, telling them to get out at once before tiptoeing up to Lin Hao.

"Boss Peng, I heard you made my sister-in-law and sworn sister come apologize?" Lin Hao's voice was still as cold as frost.

Facing Lin Hao's stern questioning, Peng Chao trembled, feeling humiliated and momentarily stunned.

After all, he had renown, and Lin Hao was clearly giving him a lesson, knocking down his ego.

"County Magistrate Lin, it was a misunderstanding..." Peng Chao tried to explain.

"Misunderstanding? Brother Chao, is this your first day in this line of work?" Lin Hao's voice remained as sharp as a knife.

Peng Chao naturally understood the street's rules: you must know the other party before acting; otherwise, you don't act rashly.

Just calling it a misunderstanding and asking Lin Hao to let it go was clearly impossible.

Peng Chao was a well-known thug leader in Wucheng County, someone that people dared not disrespect, but in the face of real power, he was nothing.

Lin Hao could crush him in seconds, like squashing an ant underfoot, casting him down into the depths.

Though his heart was vexed, he forced a smile quickly and said, "County Magistrate Lin, I was misled on this matter. I'll apologize to them at once."

He immediately turned around to the two women, bowing ninety degrees, and said loudly, "Sisters, I'm sorry! I know my mistake! Please spare my miserable life!"

"Boss Peng, since it's a misunderstanding, let's drop it," Li Xue spoke up.

"Thank you, sister-in-law!" Peng Chao quickly expressed gratitude.

"Mei Yun, what do you think?" Lin Hao looked at Xue Meiyun.

"Brother, since Brother Chao apologized, let's drop it," Xue Meiyun quickly responded.

"Since you all say to drop it, then it's settled, but don't let it happen again!" Lin Hao finally relented.

"County Magistrate Lin, since you're here, how about a drink at my place?"

Peng Chao seized the opportunity, immediately trying to gain favor with the powerful Lin Hao.

"No time! Some other day." Lin Hao got up, pressed the cigarette stub into the ashtray, and turned to leave the room.

Peng Chao eagerly followed, saying, "County Magistrate Lin, I'll see you out."
